It’s a photo meant to tug at your heart-strings – former Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo looking blank, her head trapped in a “halo vest.”
It’s a far, far cry from the photo below.
The first photo above was just released today by lawyer Estelito Mendoza, the former Solicitor General of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos who has become the lawyer of last resort for appealing to the Supreme Court.
Thanks @Jove Francisco for posting it.
Notice that the Arroyo camp could have released such a photo earlier but chose to release it today.
Mendoza has petitioned the Supreme Court to step in and allow her to travel.
It’s not Mendoza’s fault. His wealthy clients just know that he delivers.
Should people feel very sorry for Mrs. Arroyo now?
Should people just say – go ahead, you need a break. Go abroad.
But what about justice? And accountability?
And how can we be sure that halo vest is not just a mere prop now?
Perhaps Mrs Arroyo should publicly release her official medical records covering the last four years – at least – so that a panel of doctors can really determine her medical condition.
