Singer-songwriter Jim Paredes posted on my Facebook wall my recent story on the South China Sea standoff.  I don’t know how he got it.

For those who are not on Facebook,   I would like to share what he posted:

Sorry, I don’t have a copy of the actual published story.

But the title says it all.

You see the word “China” splashed on the top left because the article appeared as the top story in the China section of SCMP.

The person who posted this on FB added the message in tiny print on top.

Sone one Facebook wanted to know why the title said it was only “Manila” standing up to Beijing. This is just a metaphor that foreign newspapers and wires use all the time. The name of the capital is meant to refer to the entire country.

My thanks @Jim Paredes and to all the others who made pasa-pasa this screenshot until I got it – Raissa :)

UPDATE:

Baycas pointed me to a site where the entire article can be accessed. Just click on this link and register for free.

Another website posted the entire thing, too.

How a superpower country like China bully smaller countries like the Philippines?

The fight over the Scarborough Shoal territorial dispute turn into a TRADE WAR.

    CHINA HOLDS PH BANANAS

Ordinary Filipinos especially in Luzon and Visayas doesn’t care much if China stop buying Philippines Bananas. Ordinary Filipinos on the street might be wondering.

Why China has targetted this Philippines agricultural product particularly the BANANA?

Looking back when then Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino still a potential candidate for President, he visited the residence of his “Tito Chito” in Davao City in September 3, 2009.

This “Tito Chito” of Pnoy was the late Industrialist Jesus V. Ayala – who pioneered the export of bananas to Japan in the early 1970s.

To all CPM’ers – lets watch and figure out what would happen next on the Scarborough Shoal.
