Facebook told me – my posting Sotto anti-RH speech violates FB “community standards”

I am very much disturbed about Facebook. When I opened my FB page moments ago, a notice to me popped out that FB had received reports that a certain post I made on FB violated FB community standards.

And I was asked to review this particular post.

It turned out to be Part 1 of Senator Vicente Sotto III turno en contra speech which I had pasted verbatim on my Facebook page from the Senate website. (Later, I posted the same on this blog. )

I am being flagged by FB for posting a senator’s speech?

Is it possible someone claimed this public speech is protected by COPYRIGHT?

I don’t believe this. Someone reported me to FB because I posted a senator’s speech. I want to know what community standards I violated.

So if my personal FB page goes down again, you will know why.

BECAUSE I POSTED PART I OF SENATOR VICENTE SOTTO III’s TURNO EN CONTRA SPEECH on FAcebook.

Raissa

Here’s a partial screen cap of the FB notice  I received just minutes ago.

I told my hubby Alan about it. He said he had received the same notice:

Atty. Villacorta passed the bar exam by simple stroke of circumstances or by means of LUCK. His reasoning of plagiarism was absolutely an autistic eat bulaga mentality. Only in the Philippines where you could found a cinematic privileged speech in the person of SINator Sotto. Filipino artists entered politics because of money to be corrupted and not as they said to be of service of men.

Pls don’t use the word “atusitic”. It insults those who truly are.

Actually, Sen. Sotto won because he was nationally known as a comedian but he proejcted himself as the relative of a senator who pushed a law for press freedom.

        Hi Raïssa,

Just tonight, I watched a documentary video on ABC (Aus gov’t news channel)(http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/stories/2012/08/23/3574441.htm#)

        In A Nutshell
It featured on the subject of Autism. A story of two mothers (from different parts of the globe) who have autistic sons… (to get to the point) – they was able to restore some normalcy to their son’s sickness (e.g. eliminate PPA, pro biotics, diets).

The Autism Enigma By PBS Updated August 27, 2012 20:36:00

The film features the stories of two mothers with autistic sons. One, a Somali immigrant called Adar, has been working with scientists who are exploring why autism is more prevalent in her immigrant community. The other is Ellen Bolte, from Chicago, who began her own investigation to see if she could help her son who’d been diagnosed with autism. Using home videos she shares the story of her search for answers and the treatment she believes has given her son an opportunity to learn language, play and become more socially interactive.

Follow up on this link, they would release the video on this iView in the next few days.

I couldn’t find the same video documentary at YouTube.

The documentary video was also featured in these websites for your info.

        – On this link on “Are genetics or environmental factors the primary cause of autism?”, someone commented on Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride. Does the name sounds familiar?

          erra…

‘… they was were able to restore some normalcy to their son’s sickness’.

          additional read;

So how does proprionic acid, or PPA, come into the picture?

Well, when we eat we feed these bacteria. And a certain sub-population of bacteria in the gut, including the ones that have been found in patients with regressive autism, produces a fermentation or waste product, a seemingly simple series of molecules called short chain fatty acids. This is akin to when you put sugar on yeast you get alcohol. When you put carbs or sugars on these particular bacteria they produce a compound that, in some ways is like alcohol, because it’s a small molecule, it can easily go through the blood stream and get to the brain. But it’s also slightly different. And this compound called proprionic acid, for such a simple molecule, when we looked more and more into the literature, we were amazed at the kind of things that it did in terms of cell development and metabolism, cell-cell interaction, brain development, and to brain fat metabolism. PPA is one of a panel of short chain fatty acids that are produced by gut bacteria when they ferment carbohydrates from our diet. They make proprionic acid, PPA, they also make butyric acid and they also make acetic acid. But we’re interested in PPA because it seemed to have most of the effects that seem to relate to autism.

Sabi ni atty vllacorta : “Even our image was copied from God. We are all plagiarists.” Sa tingin ko po wala sa context ng “plagiarism” ang pangungusap na ito. If god created man accdg to his image, malinaw po na hindi nangopya ang panginoon ng gawa ng iba. To ascribe plagiarism to this biblical event is beyond comprehension.

    • Rallie Florencio says

      August 26, 2012 at 12:24 AM

Villacorta as a lawyer is a shame to qoute the Bible without understanding what it really meant. It meant God created us in His own own image and likeness. We did not copy God. Did God make man looking like Him? We are taught He is s Spirit, a Word, and He has no form that we are also taught not to make an image of Him. Therefore, to know that Likeness and Image the we are created from must be found in what He uses as words for us to be like Him and those are Righteousness and Justice with which Sotto and Villacorta may not have been formed in that manner.

This is again a very classical logical error from the Soto camp: switching the meaning of a word in the same argument. I copied from Webster:
      copy
      1
: to make a copy or duplicate of
      2
      : to model oneself on

In the plagiarism discussion we used definition 1, the bible used definition 2

Facebook should be objective, investigative and impartial otherwise FB should be FLAGGED Down!! What community standard have you violated Raissa to be flagged down??Oh…none but you have given us the opportunity to read the “plagiarized” speech and compare it with Sarah Pope’s blog.

The dirty “PLAGIARIST” and cohorts deserved not only to be flagged down but to be nailed!! And Villacorta says its the fault of Sotto’s staff. whewwwww…nagpalusot pa. The best that Sotto can do is apologize to Sarah Pope at the same time make a public apology to social media followers and the people for PLAGIARIZING!! If he wants to be an anti-RH bill champion, he should do his “homework” at please huwag na ibato ang kasalanan sa staff!!

And the Plagiarists “Sotto and Staff” should be humble and be guided of the verse in 1 Peter 5:5-6:
“All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another because, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble’.
Humble yourselves, therefore under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.”

This could be a deterrence to would be pesters at RR’s web blog.
It would be good if similar pesters are put in one page, so that the CPM are advised.

One suggestion lang ginang Raïssa, as a condition of your blog Comments Policy feature.
Those who would be ‘posting sub-literate comments and curses which do not contribute anything to the discussion.’, threats or ill-will to you would be exposed, such as this.

Another unsolicited advice to my valued fellow CPMers, to avoid legal implications or law breaches, <b<avoid displaying full names (just initials), company names (just initials)or full phone numbers (first 3 or last 3 nos.) until confirmed. RR CAN REFER PESTERS’ THREATS & DETAILS to the law enforcement authorities if they are violent in nature.

Ginang Raïssa, you may delete or edit this comment as you wish. It might telegraph, and be misconstrued for something else.

you can’t, and FB won’t tell you. You should (if not already) make the group “closed” and I would suspect that you should be able to tell over time by the tone of someone’s posts, that they may not share your views. If that is the case, the person should be removed and banned from your group. You should be able to trust those in your group and especially the admins.

Freedom of speech is no excuse for the lack of decency! Simple civility is not difficult to practice….basic respect for the Office of the President and for the individual presently occupying it is the decent thing to do……after all a good majority among us voted for him and his promise of a better government. And that is what we are receiving, not the least of which is harnessing the talent, the integrity and the conscience of Ms Maria Lourdes Sereno as our new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. “The judiciary must regain the trust of our people, so that Congress can entrust to it the funds to make the delivery of justice efficient and their families secure. I hope to regain that trust by presenting myself as a leader worthy of trust, and my work and my life as proof that the people’s trust will not be misplaced. I am a servant of the public, and if asked to lead the judiciary, I would also be a steward of public treasures and of the lives of the men and women who made service in the judiciary their career. It would be my duty to succeed.

“To demonstrate that we in the judiciary have no skeletons to hide, if appointed, I will disclose to the public our case disposal rate; official reports on our budget and COA’s audit of our expenditures; the state of our various funds, including support funds from the donor community; and I will in consultation with the community, set key result areas with milestone dates by which we will measure our performance.

“I present 18 years of possibilities, of being able to conduct a deep search for the best and the brightest in our land, who are to be set apart as a generation of judges who will commit themselves to lives of uprightness and excellence. I am willing—through how I have lived and how I will live—by God’s grace, to be the first to be daily tested if I meet the highest standards of integrity and credibility. I am willing to be measured by the degree of sacrifice I make, by what I am willing to give up in order that a vision of a judiciary that is truly noble, upright, independent, learned and excellent in every way can become a reality.”

Yesterday I got targeted by them by sending fictitious email address of a past acquaintance who pretends to seek my help after being mugged in Spain and no money to settle Hotel bill ! I know for a fact that criminals pretend to know us by using Facebook postings to lure us into believing them ! The web have lot of options (other websites) where we could share/post our views and has better security features. Facebook is only good for certain function when one is seeking for wide following from across the world with fast response, but it comes at a price ! So Buyer beware !

Thanks Raissa, that was a funny link and shows how desperate and how low Manila Times will stoop to publish trash. Oh well, at least CJ Sereno is in good company, PNoy also got a low grade on psychological evaluations according to a low grade senator. PNoy however forgave the idiot, moved on, and never looked back. CJ Sereno’s case is different, without knowing the “medical professionals”, hiding behind “doctor – patient confidentiality”, where is the validity of the article? Still I hope she finds it in her heart to forgive them and just move on, uphold her oath, and have a positive impact on the whole judicial system. The other candidates scores were not mentioned so we will never know who was “top of the class”. I would like to see a psychological evaluation of Thief Justice Corona but doubt one exist. Again, the Manila Times did a great disservice to their paper, and another reason not to depend upon their paper for accurate news.

I think there is something positive to be said about people with abnormal minds.

PNoy is also criticized for having an alleged mental deficiency.

If people with mental deficiencies are proved to perform better in government service than fully sane people, then by all means let us have more disturbed people.

If fully sane people have ruled, now and in the past, why are we in such a mess? Because sane people generally adapt and accept the status quo. They are not aware that they are living in a mental institution called the Philippines.

It is the maladjusted who trigger change. They are the ones who do not accept things as they are. They are the ones with vision.

I read “The Clowns of God” by a good author who write mostly on Vatican tales, etc. Children born with defects where Jesus awaits them at His throne to enjoy with them. Nice book. But So Tooh is not one of these precious clowns.

Many of these children are in fact gifted in their own way. We are shocked to know what is the gift! Music, Math, Memory, Science, name it, many of them have it.

In short, we or anyone cannot keep on deriding others with any defects. Am sure, there are many also in Congress and other gov’t offices who have it. So, what’s new? No one is perfect.

this ends….love one another as God loves us!

Excerpt from the Manila Times article:

“In a phone interview, Mejia said that he could only discuss the grading system of the psychiatric and psychological evaluations done on the candidates.

He said that a Grade of 1 is considered as Excellent, a Grade of 2 is Very Satisfactory, a Grade of 3 is Satisfactory, a Grade of 4 is Not Satisfactory and a Grade of 5 is Very Unsatisfactory.”

      —-

I wonder what sort of psychiatric and psycholigical tests were used? And what exactly does that rating scale mean? excllent on what? Very unsatisfactory on what?

Is that a personality rating? How do you rate a personality as excellent?

Is that a measure of mental health? What is their definition of mental health? What indicators did they look at? Is that current mental state at the time of assessment?

Is that a mental ability rating? In that case, an IQ score would have been a more useful indicator.

Or is that an overall score/ assessment of all or perhaps more than the above? In that case then, I go back to the question, what do the rating scales even mean? Excellent for the job? Very unsatisfactory for the job? How can a psychology/psychiatric test make that kind of conclusion?

Even in the corporate world where psych tests are routinely used to assess candidate’s for a job, the test results/evaluation really only cover whatever personality constructs/ indicators have been assessed, there is no overall assessment on the candidate’s acceptability for the job on the basis of the test alone, only a profile of the petson based on personality factors considered essential for the job. And they’re not even all the same for all jobs.

The recruitment person will usually give an overall recommendation based on tests, interviews and other screening procedures employed, which basically falls into either of just two, Recommended and Not Recommended. Then it is the person actually hiring, i.e. usually the prospective boss, who then makes the final assessment of the candidate’s acceptability for the job; and for purposes of ranking candidates, may rate them on a similar scale from excellent to not satisfactory.

Sorry, but I forgot to mention that the candidate’s qualifications, work experience and track record are part of the basis for evaluating his//her suitability for the job, right from the very start of the screening process.

Mejia seems to be confused with a “1 to 5” grading scale used in some universities. Seems to me he needs to back off while he has a chance or perhaps he has already performed the “open mouth, insert foot” scenario and will eventually end up like Sotto who can not apologize for his arrogance. Sorry, arrogance implies some form of intelligence. An idiot is an idiot is an idiot.

At many times, such grading cannot always be acceptable. How about Albert Einstein? He was a drop out. Nothing to reveal to examiners. Who was he then? The psychiatrists could have sent him to the mental asylum if they heard Quantum Leap theory from him! Or the Curve Theory is the shortest path to a point! Has these doctors examined the members of the JBC first of all? Not yet! Time to do so!

“He said that a Grade of 1 is considered as Excellent, a Grade of 2 is Very Satisfactory, a Grade of 3 is Satisfactory, a Grade of 4 is Not Satisfactory and a Grade of 5 is Very Unsatisfactory.” This statement for a psych test is already suspect. I’m a psych major and I have never encountered this scale in any of the tests we studied and administered, even aptitude tests. And what tests were administered? Each test has a specific trait being measured. They did not even mention this in the article. And most managerial posts already do away with testing because the track record and experience of the person already speak about his or her qualifications. This is just absurd.

          You’re right.

I asked a psychologist the same thing.

They should conduct the same psychiatric or psychology test for would-be members of the Commission of Appointments.

The above-link was a good read. As one JBC confidant was quoted, ‘it is only one of the factors’, of several?
