I’m posting here the link to Alan’s latest humor column entitled “What gun problem?” .
Here in the Philippines, we have no gun problem.
What we have is an ammunition problem. Where do we get enough rounds to feed all our guns?

benign0 Simeon Aquino will be investigated after his term. We will investigate him why he allowed purchase of HARM-LESS, ARMED-LESS bapor-de-guerra. He also approved the purchase of helicopters that cannot fly rountrip, fully-loaded with aerial garand to and from Spratleys.
Well, maybe these helicopters are super-duper ultra-secret that can fly to Spratleys, unload their 30 caliber garand and back to Subic without mid-air refueling.
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
The Filipinos should test the capabiities of these military helicopters. First, put all the brilliant Philippine journalists in one chopper separated by the universities they graduate: A chopper full of U.P. journalism graduates, another chopper-full of Ateneo graduates and another from la Salle.
Why I choose journalists as their passenger? Because they are soooo adoring to benign0 and most of all they are sooooo silently clueless.
Then I will have these choppers fly from Subic to Scarborough Reef then to Spratleys and back. Of course without refueling because first, there is no AV Fuel bunker in Spratleys, secondly, Philippines do not have aircraft carriers that can refuel these choppers, 3rdly and lastly and finally PHILIPPINES ARE NOT CAPABLE OF MID-AIR REFUELING.
If they make it back, too bad, we still have these PHilippine Journalists. If they do not, HALLELUJAH !!!! God bless their souls. We do not need them anyways. We already have too many clueless Filipinos around.
Alan says
A better stress test would be to have the helicopters fly at max speed towards a pretentious blogger analyst who acts as if he knows anything about journalism but really knows squat. That blogger will then proceed to loudly read excerpts from his hilariously tedious economic reports. I’m betting the choppers will have a hard time flying through the gusts of hot air.
Another test would be to tie all the choppers to a cargo pallet with all the compiled collected printouts of that alleged analyst’s economic articles. If they can lift that much useless dead weight they pass the test.
Life Insurance Philippines says
Alan, you really are a very funny guy. You had me laughing with every word of your reply.
Baltazar says
@Mariano,
I am a bit curious the way you write Benigno. This is also the way the name of just another mere blogger is written – benignZero I can sniff from this corner of the world that you are one of GRP’s emissary or a fan of that a$$#ole-blogger. who knows , you are benign0 himself :-) . troll harder mate.
roberto villaflores says
@ Mariano. It is a fact that AFP is no match to the Chinese’. Garand rifle is obsolete. From law enforcers’ long sleeve uniform to 30 cal garand rifle. You are trying more to portray that AFP is awkward armed forces. The basic rifle aboard attack aircraft or naval is 7.62mm aside from main gun of high caliber. M16A1 assault rifle is the basic weapon of ordinary soldier.
When the government purchase the naval bapor de guerra without guns, it is because we dont have enough money. Obviously, the government cannot purchase first the main gun of the bapor simply because you cannot utilize it in whatever purpose it may serve while the barkong walang main gun can stll be utilized to transport military personnel while waiting for the budget to purchase its main gun.

Ancient Mariner says
When I first came to the Philippines I was amazed at the number of firearms openly displayed. I have become used to it but still cannot accept the supposed necessity of it.
In particular private security companies appear willing to put firearms into the hands of any Tom, Dick or Harry. I recently witness a very young, slightly built female around 4 ft 6 or 7 inches tall posted as a security guard complete with a very large pistol on her belt. She would surely fall over backwards if she fired it.
Likewise the practice of allowing the military and the police (and private security guards) to retain their firearms when off duty boggles the mind. Whatever happened to the good old armory with guns stored safely when their users are off duty. With the added benefit of an armorer to make sure that the weapons are all kept in a safe working condition.
My perusals of the local press in the 7 years i have been a resident have revealed numerous occasions when security guard, policeman and to a lesser extent soldier have been robbed of their firearms when in a jeepney on the way home from work/duty.
Gun Control take many shapes and forms, very few of which are apparent in the Philippines. They need not preclude those with a genuine need from carrying a handgun but could prevent a great many from needlessly carrying firearms.
In case you wonder why I have these thoughts, I am from the UK where the police do not normally carry firearms and all military/police/private security firearms are kept safely locked in an armory when not being used by someone on duty.
Bring on sensible gun controls.
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
FILIPINOS ARE IMPRACTICAL PEOPLE. They are sooooo impractical that they just drive me insane. LOOKIT THOSE traffic enforcers and security guards wearing long sleeves and ties IN HOT HUYMID WEATHER. THAT IS HOW low intellect the Filipinos are. VERY LOW IQ and when they go abroad magyabang that they are intelligent breed of people because they are COLLEGE GRADUATES !!!! HA! HA! HA!
Get over it people. Philippine college graduates are worth high-school drop-out in 1st world.
BILL HANDEL of KFI AM 640 in the morning drive that also host HANDEL ON THE LAW on weekend mornings ASKED HIS LISTENERS, quote: “If it takes 80 Asian-Indians to EQUAL WHITE AMERICANS how many FILIPINOS DOES IT TAKE TO EQUAL a ASIAN-INDIAN”
Goot question. It maybe racist but you cannot separate Filipnos and their intellect. IT IS LIKE SAYING, “CRITICIZE THE ACT NOT THE PERSON” Now, who can separate the two?
roberto villaflores says
True Mariano, I cannot seperate your action from your stupid personality. If you know Filipinos are stupid, then why broadcast it. You are sooooooo stupid broadcaster.
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
@Roberto Villaflores, you must have remembered in our Management Class where our Ateneo professor said, “TO KNOW THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM IS TO KNOW THE PROBLEM FIRST”
If I do not broadcast the problem, HOW CAN WE KNOW THE SOLUTION, when the problem is not known?
tristanism says
Oh-Em-Gee, we didn’t know these problems before you came along?
We are very thankful.
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
Well, actually, sir, THE FILIPINOS KNOW THE PROBLEM THAT THE PROBLEM IS THEMSELVES. But Filipinos cannot face the problem because the problem itself are themselves.
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
It is the like the brilliant PHilippine Media. They know they are the problem but cannot face the problem because THEY ARE THE PROBLEM.
tristanism says
No, sir. You’re too modest. I think you’re the only one who knows about these problems. Please go on and tell us what our problems are. Very grateful that you have focused your artistry on telling us Filipinos what’s wrong with us.
Although I’m going to miss blissful ignorance, learning from you would ultimately be better for everyone.
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
Well, I do not need to repeat my gripes about Filipinos. But I will repeat it on some other fresh postings so that I will not bore people here of my keen observatory faculties.
roberto villaflores says
Mariano, have you asked law enforcers why they wear long sleeves while on duty? neckties? Go to the farmland outside the city. you will see farmers in cotton long sleeves shirts while farming. Have you asked them why in long sleeves? It is because these people who are exposed to sunlight are skin color conscious. They don’t like to darken more of there skins while doing there routine jobs. Why neckties? It is to add some decency and to be respectable as duty officers. They want to become snappy..
Yes you are very intellectual person from Ateneo. yes yes
roberto villaflores says
Maybe you can ask why Sec. Laila de Lima and Congresswoman sport scarf while in a tropical country like ours. Though it’s awkward, for Laila de lima is for fashion I guess. And for Cong. Hontiveros is for patriotic feeling because it is worn slantly on her lap.
Alan says
it seems you were separated from your mind
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
You are right, Alan. The brain cannot be separated from teh body but the mind is. I read it somewhere. The mind and the brain is inseparable at first glance but some psychoanalyst said that mind can separate from the brain if it can transcend from the body ….. hmmmm ….. I do not git it …. I have to marinate on this …. maybe Google instead of thinking about it …
Alan says
ask Ignacio. Ignacio knows all
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
I’ll ask Ignacio once I get signal …. OK, I got signal … I do not have cell signal … so I will do it the old fashion way …. smoke signal using dot and dashes morse code way … it still works …
Alan says
and?

Election is coming. As a previous bank employee, we were on edge during the campaign period especially during the new few days before casting the votes. Hold ups and bank robbery are common during those times, The most at risk were the pick up tellers, the cash operations people, and the other staff who do the physical movement of cash and other cash item equivalents. Even armored vehicles are not totally safe, and you are vulnerable once the door is open and you walk the few steps to the bank’s entrance. There was a pregnant pick up teller during my time who had to come to another branch transferring cash. When she alighted from the armored van, there was a gunfight between would be bank robbers and the bank security guards. Luckily she and her baby were not harmed as she had to run all the way inside the bank for cover. Yes, bankers look glamorous, but when needed they can sprint wearing high heels and minis.
As for guns, I’m all for it only for those who should have it. Should be appropriate too, in the sense that say, a private gun holder citizen should not have automatics. I’m sure though that the shortage of ammunition is with the local police and army. The rebels or private armies/goons though got plenty. How else will they be so bold to challenge the armed forces if they don’t have more than enough for battle?
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
HA! HA!HA! Tell me about it ….
Whenever there is election BANKS STOCK UP various crisp off-the-press denominations for buying votes, give-aways and pabaons ……
zamera says
Wrong. New bills come during year-ends :) During campaign run-up to election 100s and below disappear. Within a week after election we would be counting and sorting boxes and bundles of 100s, 50s, and 20s again.
And don’t get me started with winners of number betting games. I haven’t got over the nightmare of that lady who deposited her winnings of 100K worth of smelly, dirty, and wet 20 peso bills.

@7 Our ammo problem . . .
We, Filipinos, never ran out of ammunition. The perfect example is somebody here who outguns all CPMers in all flanks. This gunner has a surfeit of ammo supplied by his AMO – meaning his boss and benefactor from the Philippines. Just look below my post to see what I mean.

When I was a kid at elemetary school, I was praised by my teacher when she told me to get a chalk. I went to get chalk and returned with eraser. My teacher praised me ” VERY GOOoood. ” So what is ammunition without a gun.
Some months back, I emailed our Sec Mar Roxas. That time he was not DILG secretary yet, in fact when I emailed him, he was on official mission in China. My email was in time to welcome him with our worries as OFWs regarding high rate of crimes that flourish not only metro manila but the whole nation as well. It is in regard with “loose firearms” specifically in the provinces of Cavite and Batangas.
In consequence, I just heard the news that he ordered the PNP for the update of the loose fireams in the country – with 500T plus of loose firearms. And then I heard in one of the news, in his speech that “it is the tinig ng taong bayan ang lalabas dito”. Then followed up by the news that the operation bakal dubbed as “Oplan Katok” wherein a list of registered owner of guns with expired licenses will be individually visited at their declared residences, hence Oplan Katok.
In fairness with our good Secretary Mar Roxas, I do not attribute on my email to his actions regarding loose firearms. It is perhaps a coincidence that my email letter to him was just in time before the launching of his anti loose firearms together with PNP..
With the present Oplan Katok, I am completely satisfied with this program for there were no public officials who had launched this kind if operation before. This is the first of its kind in local governance. A true political will. I bet there are more to come that will surprise us under his watch. DILG is no clown.
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
The justice system … the military … the Philippine Media … the thought processes of the Filipno people … of course, the justice the military and the philippine media are FILIPINOS …. IS JUST WEIRDLY UNBELIEVABLE ….. they are just feeding on each other …..
HERE IS WHY NOTHING WILL NEVER EVER CHANGE IN THE PHILIPPINES allow me to bullet-riddle this comment for simplicity and enumeraty:
1. I tripped over uneven sidewalk along Pasay Road. I went to Binay. Binay told me “you are halaghag, bulagsak, pabaya, when you wok, you should wok where you saw. This is not America. This is the Philippines” So the sidewalk remain uneven
2. I was nearly runned-over in Pasong Tamo. The driver and the police admonished me for being halaghag, blagsak, pabaya. Honest, I was walking in the sidewalk in a STOP sign.
3. I was in a pumpboat to corregidor. I ask for life-saving-jacket. The driver of pumpboat and local official told me “If it is time for you to die, IT IS TIME” Huh? So everything here in the Philippines is up to fate and faith ? Jeeeez
C;mon people, humor me. I am depressed what is happening to Filipino minds. I just cannot wrap my brain around it. WE SHOULD CHANGE HOW THE FILIPIOS THOUGHTING BY EDUCATING THE U.P. BRILLIANT PHILIPPINE MEDIA because they are supposed to be informing the people.
WHAT GOOT IS POLITICS IF CULTURE REMAINS THE SAME ? which comes first? Culture change or change of politics.

hindi ko talaga maintindihan bakit kailangang maglagay sila ng ganoong klase ng pics online or save those hullabaloos in their gadgets. ano ba makukuha nila? kung muttawa na ang nakahuli, saan sila pupulutin. in my opinion, if they can not stop themselves from doing forbidden things, they’d better not be in mid-east. ikamamatay ba nila kung hindi sila iinom ng alak o nood ng bawal for 2-3 years? kaya nga nag-abroad, para magtrabaho at mag-ipon ng kita, hindi para gumawa ng kabulastugan sa ibang bansa. you can amuse and entertain yourself without breaking the law.
i remember reading the advise of a high-ranking official or a shaikh here in uae for expats. “they are guest workers, and thus, should respect the house rules of their host.” in short, adhere to the laws of the land and take care not to offend the cultural practices of the host country.

Was it Gen Garcia that shotted himself in the cemetery? And his children went to america with people’s taxmoney in one huge rice sack filled with $100,000 k was caughted by immigration CLERK?
My facts are screwed like halo-halo in summertime …
Well, that PMAyer that shotted “himself” in the cemetery and his genius buddy-body-guards, in violation, of what they learned in Quantico picked-up the weapon instead of leaving it there for CSI:Manila to check the crime scene and weapons of crime … AND THE BRILLIANT ATENEO, la SALLE & U.P. journalism graduate were just sooooo clueless that they failed to criticize the buddy-body-guards of leaving the crime scene with the gun.
Who’d commit a suicide bringing with him a book to read, a chair to sit on in a nice sunny weather in the cemetery? Was he killed? Because he knew too much? And might foint finger at Aling Glo & company ?
It was like Aling Failon, she blew her head off brain fragments scattered all over the place. CSI:MANILA COULDN’T believe that the houseslaves were trained U.S. CIA biomedical hazard experts in Spook parlance they were CLEANERS !!!!
And who wented to prison? Of course the HOUSESLAVES THAT WERE TELLED TO CLEAN UP THE MESS.

Nope, it was the late former AFP Chief of Staff and Secretary of Defense Angelo Reyes who committed suicide during a visit to his mother’s grave. His children were there too. What’s different with his suicide? He had shot his heart, unlike others who pulled the trigger to their brains.
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
Was it Reyes that got commission from Israeli-made drone ?
Why would Reyes bring a lounging chair, a nice book to read, children and shotted himself in the chest?
Intelligent brilliant political analyzing Philippine Media should thoughting to themselves bat magpahirap pa magbaril sa puso when it is easier to pull trigger on the temple or thru the mouth.
Now, LITTLE EXPIREMENT TO TALL BRILLIANT PHILIPPINE ANALYZING MEDIA. Try shooting yourselves in the heart. WHICH IS EASIER HEART OR UP HERE IN THE BRAIN?
Why his brilliant intelligent bodyguards and children bother to pick-up the weapon. Is weapon more important than Reyes? It is like Robredo’s bodyguard preferred saving the backpack than Robredo. Till this day I do not understand and not know what was inside the backpack.
zamera says
I believe he was getting investigated for the practice of pabaon or send-off money after retirement. Big money involved – apparently he got Php50 M when he left the office.
Suicide is wrong for whatever reason. Nonetheless, it happens, and frankly, we the living can never really know what’s going on the person’s mind, why they had the courage to do it. What we do now for sure is that when somebody does that, more likely than not that there is a reason why the person had killed themselves.
Who would really know why he did it that way? Perhaps it was easier for him (somewhere I read he had a stroke some months before his senate appearance and was under medication) that way rather than to his head. Other than that, this might be the reason why: “Gunshot to chest means death with dignity” as per abs-cbnnews.com/nation/02/08/11/gunshot-chest-means-death-dignity
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
I agree. Japanese do harikiri thru their heart. Does that mean that Reyes committed harakiri with dignity ?
roberto villaflores says
Every individual has its own way of treating itself. When the incident is humiliating for hìm (Gen Reyes), so be it. When it is not, so be it. If you could not understand him why he committed suicide, don’t ask the public. They could not tell you the answer. Scrutinize your thinking molecules.

I take offense of humoring Filipinos. Filipinos are peaceful people because WE ARE RELIGIOUS not matter how IRRESPONSIBLY RELIGIOUS WE ARE.
Guns are only for show. WE DO NOT HAVE INTENT TO KILL. WE JUST LIKE TO SCARE and SHOW-OFF. Sig-Suer, FNH FiveSeven Pistoleros are expensve exotic armor piercing stuff. What is goot having these without showing them off? Of course, anyone showing off guns like these must be military-types or by extension.
WE DO NOT NEED AMMUNITION FOR THESE. This is just for show !!!!
LOOKIT, certified pre-owned, second-hand, hand-me-down, ARMED-LESS, HARM-LESS Hamilton Class Coast Guard Clutter. We have two of them in the millions and millions over the the bodies of hungry Filipinos but THEY ARE AMMUNITION-LESS.
BECAUSE, Filipinos just love to show-off !!!! The benig0 Aquino with BRILLIANT PMA Consultants also boughted 6 ARMEDJ-LESS, HARM-LESS helicopters with intended use against China. Now, look at, can these helicopters attack Spratleys without mid-air refueling and back to Philippine Base?
WILL SOMEONE ANALYZE THIS ? Well, brilliant PHilippine Media are only goot in analyzing wrong englischtzes and spelling and perfection of grammar but CANNOT ANALYZE AS SIMPLE AS THIS.
Why did the BRILLIANT PHILIPPINE MEDIA NOT ATTACK SUCH BRILLIANT PROCUREMENT OFFENSIVE MILITARY ARSENALS ? Because BRILLIANT PHILIPPINE MEDIA ARE ONLY WIRED TO ANALYZE POLITICS .
Why I consider these military arsenals AS OFFENSIVE and DANGEROUS? Because they are offensive to my financial and cost-effectiveness sensitivities. THESE ARE USELESS BUNCH OF FLYING TRANSPORT FOR PMAyers and CABINET MEMBERS. Why they are DANGEROUS? Because the hungry Filipino children are dying of malnutrition UNLESS THE GOVERNMENT want them in Mrs. Universe in its ANOREXIC REGALIA so the Filipinos will be proud again since the defeat of Sup-Sup and Tugonon.
i just so love FILIPINOS. THEY ARE SOOOO INTELLIGENT.
I am asking the U.S. Government and European Government and all WHITE-RUN 1STWORLD COUNTRIES that everytime a FILIPINO APPLY FOR A VISA the host countries SHOULD CHECK THEIR INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT FIRST before approving them. BECAUSE VIRUSES OF FILIPINOS ARE INCURABLE DISEASES.

We are still decades ahead of USA in matters of protection against guns when their number one gun honcho recommended that armed security guards should be employed in US schools to protect pupils and students. That’s part for a long time now of Philippine schools administration. IF THAT IS NOT SO, then we can, like the Americans enshrine in our constitution the right of every citizen to BEAR ARMS because in the Philippines those who are able to BEAR ARMS are the bad eggs of society namely: the high and mighty politicians and government officials, bad military and police personnel, the rebels and anarchists, the holduppers and robbers, etc. AND ALTHOGETHER THEY ARE A MINORITY. If the big majority can HAVE ARMS guaranteed by the constitution, these minority of vermins will think twice to consider the majority as stupid and subservient. THAT I think is the reason behind the right to bear arms enshrined in the US Consitution. The people should not be afraid of the government and the rascals. It should be the other way around. It is the duty of the government to enforce the intent of the constitution and not let the profit motive bungle it resulting in massacres. What says you Joe America?

It is not people but guns that kill people. It is not guns that kill people, it’s people pulling the trigger. That’s how sick thinking can be arguing about guns. When a young man breaks into a school and shoot to death 20 children, or another young man goes into a theater and killed many moviegoers. THAT’S NOT for money or for power but that could be MENTAL . When uniformed authorities kill other uniformed officers for money or for whatever that could be greed or for power or self preservation. In such two cases GOVERNANCE is sleeping on the job. When septuagenarians shoot to death in self defense robbers who broke into their homes or when a lone woman shoots to death a rapist in her bedroom, or when the people armed themselves and attack their oppressive Bastille that is the wisdom of the right to bear arms in the constitution. Who is the robber or the rapist or the despot stupid enough not to think that he could be shot like the dog that he is.

Dear Aliza,
You should be installing sensors to your windows, doors or any entrance to entrap any attempters he he he ( i need to sound different from CS MRP, someone says me and CS MRP is beoming one, he he he)
Also the power to your burglar alarm should be UPS (uninterrupted power supply) just to be sure it powers up once the sensor detects the rapist or killers (they are all the same criminals), Meralco might be shutting down sometimes if they could not get that adjustment fee, what a greed act…hayyy nainis na naman ako, maglalagay muna ako ng facial cream he he he
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
My burglar alarm is simple. empty bottles by the windows. they open the windows they tip the bottles. It falls, it smash, I wake up. I call CSI:Manila . For all I know the hearse comes first before police does.
Once the police arrives Arlington Memorial Chapels, Loyola Memorial Chapels, Rizal Funeral homes are fighting over my dead body …..
macspeed says
Dear Aliza,
i quite agreed with you, however, it is more safer to ban the guns, even if the holder passed the psycho exam, you can never be sure he will not use his gun ones provoked such example is traffic violence he he he he when he starts shooting, stray bullets may hit innocent children, it is good if bad eggs are the ones bulls eyed…
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
Psychological test for gun license ….
Psychological test for politicians ….
Psychological tests for SWS pollsters …
Psychological tests for Brilliant Philippine Media ….
Here is the most important bill that should be passed …. PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS FOR COUPLES GETTING MARRIED …. Once City Health found out the couple are found have genetic and historical homicidal tendencies they should not be issued a license to marry so that they cannot have babies that will have the same psychological make ups.
The following should also not be given license to marry … if they are not allowed to marry they should also not be allowed to carry a gun ….
1. if they are both restraining order types
2. social deviants
3. financially incapable to rear children
4. psychotic
5. both are ugly. Ugly couples produce ugly children. Ugly children would be teased and bullied. Low self-esteem creates murdereous tendencies.
6. I know, @Macspeed you will disagree with me on this, They should not believe in God. My study says, those in Muntinlupa their favorite tatoo is Jesus Christ. Their favorite jewelry is crucifix. Their favorite greetings is “Bless you”. They wear their hair long just Jesus Christ. They wear flip-flop like Jesus Christ. They do not take a bath like Jesus Christ.
If anyone disagrees with me on 6 I have a question. Would anyone want to sit next to a person with tatoo of Jesus Christ and huge gold crucifix pendant ? I DOUBT SO ….
Baltazar says
@Mariano RP
Would anyone want to sit next to a person with tatoo of Jesus Christ and huge gold crucifix pendant ?
I wouldn’t mind. Because I don’t believe that is the picture of Jesus Christ as no one who lived with him closely (like his disciples) has ever painted his face. Those supposed images of the Christ were just mere imaginations of the middle ages /renaissance artists.
Now you found one who is not LOW-IQ as you..at least on this matter.
BTW, you are obviously not following the CPM blogs. You cannot associate mcspeed with Jesus Christ because he is a self-confessed Muslim.

Priests can’t pack heat anymore, they don’t wear cassocks or priestly garments anymore, including that bald white (hairless) coins in their domes. They look like College seniors or young professors now. Not in malls or busy public but in their SUVs or in Malacanang during Gloria’s time, will you still see Bishops in their colorful garments . They don’t need guns, a big crucifix or the silver cross and some chants to shake off devils is their only weapon. NO NEED FOR PERMIT TO CARRY.
macspeed says
yeahhhh, the priest continued to rape the poor Juan dela cruz, preaching for salvation yet riding home on their SUV’s and doing majong on week ends he he he he what a religious practice or say what a cultural religious prisoners juan dela cruz are… to be different from CS MRP he he he, this because we believe on the Last Days and the Judgment Day to come….hayyy baba muna ako mag dry muna gid ng labadahon ko he he he
Mariano Renato Pacifico says
The priests are sexually confused because of their enforced repressed sexual appetite. They either can do it on underage, elderly, men, women, boys and girls.
I wonder how they do it. Can’t they pick just one sex like I pick a woman to have sex with. But Priests do it any gender. Geeeez …….
When I went for my holy communion I hear the priest said “Body of Christ” “Amen” Body of Christ” “Amen” When it was my turn the priest looked at me and winked “Wow Body”

About the palpable ubiquitous presence of security guards almost everywhere in METRO CITIES’ government and business establishments and even in gated or plush residential subdivisions , this sick you este sikyu culture (yes it is Filipino culture already) is a by-product of Martial Law which you will not see in any Asean Country (even Burma). These most often patient and smiling sikyus had replaced the bearded Boombay sikyu of pre WWII. Thanks to Martial Law military officer retirees, they started a new source of employment for our men and women who otherwise will not find work in factories which do not exist. Come to think of it, mere presence of these sikyus control Filipinos misbehaviour in public and instill discipline to a naturally obedient patient race. Big US and Canadian Malls will employ 50 adequately paid unarmed sikyu, while Philippine Taipan Malls will employ 500 adequately gun- armed underpaid sikyus. Gun toting and gun firing seem minimal among Pinoy sikyu and has less relevance to gun and ammo problem in the Philippines.

True.
We think it’s normal – until a foreigner remarks on their number and on the fact that they have to open their handbags , sometimes to be poked with a stick – at every mall entrance.
Alizarin Viridia says
I agree poking into a man’s backpack or ladies handbag is discourteous and inconsiderate. Taipans should buy x’ray machines with conveyors. They can get that money from their unwarranted parking fees. I receive regularly emails from TSA and like to read best the complaints of oppressed and inconvenience air travellers all over America. Nothing is free in this world of the dialectic, matters at rest experience no opposing force if there is no motion and therefore also no momentum.
Cha says
In some department stores in Australia, customers also are asked to open their bags but at the exit, to check for pilferred items.
raissa says
Isn’t that insulting?
Cha says
People here are used to it so it’s also seen as normal. :)
Cha says
Oh but they don’t poke at the contents of the bag with a stick. They just look it over.
