It appears that not just four versions of the Philippine apology to Taiwan exists.

A fifth one has been found.

My hubby Alan writes about it:

Secret apology draft required Philippines to explain to Taiwan how Nancy Binay won

Hot Manila – by Alan Robles

Posted at 05/25/2013 4:35 PM | Updated as of 05/25/2013 4:35 PM

A recently discovered discarded draft apology would have obliged the Philippines to explain to Taiwan just how Nancy Binay became a senator.

Manila also would have committed itself to “immediately” finding a way to resume airing Willie Revilliame shows on a major TV network.

US reaffirms defense treaty with Philippines

    By: Agence France-Presse
    June 1, 2013 2:22 PM

SINGAPORE — The United States on Saturday reaffirmed its commitment to a defense treaty with the Philippines, which is currently embroiled in a territorial dispute with Beijing over the South China Sea.

The pledge came as US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel met his Philippine counterpart Voltaire Gazmin on the sidelines of an annual security forum in Singapore set to be dominated by Beijing’s growing might.

The Philippines, a former US colony, is involved not only in a row with China but also Taiwan over the recent killing of a Taiwanese fisherman along their sea border.

Gates of Hell News – A sixth, carefully drafted apology letter was recently delivered, heard, and posted on the Internet. The transcript started with this…

I just want to make things right and I want to make this day a beautiful one, and let’s start this right. Alam naman po natin yung mga isyu. May mga malaking isyu at may malaking malaking isyu na lumalaganap ngayon.

May 17, 2013 naganap po ang “I-vice ganda mo ko” sa Araneta. It is a comedy concert; it is a comedy show. It is an enlarged comedy bar show kasi naganap po sa Araneta.

Reports revealed that the Wan-Tai Dynasty rejected the apology letter. Apparently, the letter, coursed through Mekong Channel’s Basil Yo, was wrongfully sent to the said Dynasty.

ZREC fails to act on COA recommendations

MANILA (UPDATED) – Almost P200 million in pork barrel funds of 3 senators and a party-list lawmaker have gone missing, along with a fake non-government organization (NGO) that received the money.

The Commission on Audit (COA), in its latest audit of ZNAC Rubber Estate Corp. (ZREC) released Tuesday, revealed that officials of the government-owned and -controlled corporation (GOCC) have yet to account for the priority development assistance funds (PDAF) from the 4 officials that went to Pangkabuhayan Foundation Incorporated (PFI) in 2009-2010.

The 2012 audit of ZREC showed that the corporation has not acted on 24 various recommendations made by the COA to show where the money went.

COA’s findings in 2011 implicated Senators Jinggoy Estrada, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, Senator Bong Revilla, and Buhay party-list Rep. Rene Velarde in the alleged fund misuse.

The 4 lawmakers’ PDAFs were released by the Department of Agriculture to ZREC, which then appropriated the funds to PFI.

    Failure of intelligence.”

Failure of intelligence…in the military? Geeeee shucks!

These soldiers & officers should learn again this lesson: Wearing those military uniforms is already telling to BE PREPARED for anything…anticipate 24 hours for engagement & combat.

Intelligence one has not, should wear civilian attire moving along unfamiliar grounds.

All muscles but without brains…is disaster! Our military command NEVER LEARNS until disaster takes place. RIP to our soldiers then.

But some officers should be made to answer for this disaster. Will there be an investigation without pakikisama attitude? Wag na kung kung ‘we are all covering up’ this thing.

Today, Taiwan and the Philippines sent their respective representatives and exchanged official letters to their hosts. Hopefully, no drafts this time.

The Phils’. representatives were heavily guarded at their arrival in Taiwan.

Inday Dimapakali was the source of the crumpled draft.

The bin’s trove of intel was due to be recycled, and Inday Dimapakali by chance saw the Fifth draft letter. And so he texted Dimakaporma, as a scoop, to improve Dimakaporma’ public profile as “…100 times better than anyone.” sort of an investigative journalist.

      Re: Dan Brown’s Inferno

The Sydney Morning Herald featured a story on the Philippine reaction the other day, “Gates of Hell : Dan Brown Enrages Philippines”.

Mostly talked about the letter from MMDA Chairman Tolentino to Dan Brown. Ho-hum.

What caught my attention and had me ROFL were two reactions on the comment section:

“He enraged me too when I read that abysmal Da Vinci Code”
-Corporal,  Sa Kaeo, Thailand, May 24

“hmmmm, I thought the crappy writing and 1 dimensional characters would be greater cause for rage.”
      -Ox, May 24

To be fair, there were also two commenters agreeing with Dan Brown’s description of the place.

But the point is, Dan Brown’s book and writing has actually been widely panned by critics. That’s the other equally amusing side of this story. Here’s one example:

“As a stylist Brown gets better and better: where once he was abysmal he is now just very poor. His prose, for all its detailing of brand names and the exact heights of buildings, is characterised by imprecision. It works to prevent the reader from engaging with the story.
This mattered less in his previous novels, but with Inferno I sense for the first time that Brown is aiming at a tauter, better book, one more interested in the real world, longing to escape from the prison of his pleonasm.
But in the end this is his worst book, and for a sad, even noble, reason – his ambition here wildly exceeds his ability.”

He’s really creative to make up such wild material as one sovereign state suggesting that another sovereign state manipulate who is in congress and what’s on TV. Is that the way they do it in Taiwan?
