Yesterday I offered a mass for members of Cyber Plaza Miranda & my FB friends

Hi guys,

I just thought I’d tell you before I lose Internet access again.

Yesterday, I visited St. Francis’ basilica in Assisi – where his remains are buried.

I made an offerta – a mass offering – for all the members of Cyber Plaza Miranda, along with my family, close relatives and friends in Facebook.

His feast is coming, you see. And he is my favorite saint, perhaps because he lived life so simply but delivered a very complicated message to the world.

I just wanted you all to know we are in this journey together – to build a better country and community together. I’ll post pics when I return. Hard pala to post when you have no PC.

– Raissa

‘As it exists today, the Philippines can never become a great nation…at least not in our lifetime. Why? The answer is because from an outsider’s perspective, we are a nation of liars and thieves. Or if that sounds too harsh, we are a nation made up mostly of liars and thieves and a small minority of non-liars and non-thieves who prefer to look the other way or bury their heads in the sand.’ Philippinenews.com Editorial.

I agree. Many are born liars. Many become liars. And they all die lying.

How much does our gov’t owes in debt?…P5Trillion already? Why not use ‘savings’ to pay the debts…

‘Through Senate Resolution 287, he is seeking an inquiry in aid of legislation on the realignment of P72.11 Billion worth of DAP funds from slow-moving projects that the Budget Department describes as government savings.’

Government savings! Please use such savings to pay the debt! Why don’t they?

[…to get another bigger budget for next fiscal year? ] Holy MONEY!

Tampering of evidence can be of great help to an accused –

‘Authorities failed to get the Supreme Court’s affirmation over the conviction of a suspected drug dealer on ground of tampered evidence.

In a decision written by Associate Justice Roberto Abad, the Court’s Third Division ordered the release from detention of accused-appellant Jovi Pornillos after it found out that a tampering of evidence was committed.

In granting the appeal of the accused, the high court set aside the decision of the Court of Appeals dated November 18, 2010, as well as the ruling of the Regional Trial Court of Iriga City, Branch 35, that convicted him for violating the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, on reasonable doubt.’

Warning to prosecutors: If evidence is tampered [ that is, check it before filing any charge or charges] DO NOT FILE ANY CASE so that no DOUBLE JEOPARDY comes in!

This is for ALL CRIMINAL CASES!

”Anti-pork barrel advocates warned President Benigno Aquino III Friday against defying the public clamor to scrap all discretionary funds, including his own, or the people would take matters into their own hands.

The #ScrapPork Network also set a Dec. 6 deadline for the President to get onboard and “destroy the barrier” that blocks his “straight path.”

And the headlines says an ultimatum for PNoy.

I just hope they are not going to gather stones for throwing after the deadline date.

our legislator thieves are in good company. china’s president li xinping refused to say how rich he is and even imprisoned those that ask about his wealth that is growing by the billions and still growing. russia’s vladimir putin, nobody dares, but many are whispering and some are starting to shout how corrupt he is, his army and his military are bastions of graft and corruption. italy’s berlosconi, he stole people’s honor and dignity also the nation’s hope of better future. the leaders of african countries like zimbabwe, sudan, eritrea, etc, are also mired in corruption, their families and clans controlled most of the wealth. the nations in south america are not doing well, some like columbia are maoist and tyrant to their own people. as well, mexico is full of drug lords, their legislators probably also involved in illegal drug trade and raking in millions. least, in our country, we managed to lay charges against our thieving legislators and will be bringing them to justice. we have exposed how corrupt they are and have shown our displeasure.

Home Guaranty bankrupt. Manila Times news today.

‘AFTER 11 years of “continuous losses,” the financial resources of the Home Guaranty Corp. (HGC) have been depleted and the agency now risks losing the capacity to provide guarantees for housing loans, according to the Commission on Audit (COA).’

Why does this happen? Create an agency and it goes bankrupt! Since it’s creation and up to now…it’s bankrupt! Many years … it’s been going into bankruptcy! This is a GOCC entity.

Why? Corrupted investing? COA does not say.

PNoy has not shown by action on these ‘* & **’ Yes, he has spoken on it. But act? So far, it has not yet acceptability happened.

The opposition and the corrupts are capitalizing the inaction of PNoy and Sec. Abad et al. on ‘* & **’…

Thus, the wrong accusations against PNoy is happening and he is biting into it. It won’t help him saying ” I AM NOT A THIEF!”

          Same newspaper…

‘Perhaps the Chief Executive should be reminded that no one has actually called him a thief to his face. He remains a popular, even well-liked, president because the majority of the people perceive him as possessing the same qualities as his late mother, who was a true paragon of virtue.’

That’s right. No one has actually called him a thief.

But…’It must, however, be noted that the president seems exceedingly loyal to some of his people, even when those officials have either under-performed or have been linked to questionable dealings.’

Is PNoy exceedingly loyal to some of his people?

‘There remain questions over why his well-respected deputy, former General Danilo Lim, really resigned. The good general never said it outright, but his post-resignation statements indicate that the highest officials at the BoC are all too willing to bend over backwards to grant favors to powerful officials.’

Really, why did Gen. Lim’s resign? We are in the dark on this. Blackrency!

‘We reiterate our belief that Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino 3rd is not a thief.’

‘Is it possible that the announcement sent a hidden message to parties out to destabilize the Aquino administration that they should think before taking any kind of action?
This cannot be discounted. But no, we do not have any definitive proof that any political, civilian or military group is preparing a November surprise for Mr. Aquino. We are just wondering why Malacanang seems so perturbed these days.’

Is there proof is preparing for a November surprise? Again, blackrency!

There’s no big problem, is there? All is well. Because President Aquino is not a thief. [ this is a quote]

Kapunan assured that Napoles will tell all in the Ombudsman – not in the senate.

Maybe Napoles wants to tell all in the Senate hearing on November 7 to preempt any threat to her life soon. And so she could stop talking to herself.

Or maybe Napoles wants to bring her secrets to death and save her co-conspirators.

IMO Napoles and Kapunan had agreed that the former would tell all in the senate. But the previous stand of Kapunan not to allow Napoles stays. To save face, Kapunan had to withdraw her legal services from Napoles who is now free to do whatever she wishes.

Survival is the primordial instinct of man or woman.

When going get rough, lawyers should consider it for the client’s interests. Why not enter into with a good ‘plea bargain’ with the prosec, plead guilty and get a much lesser sentence saving no less than 5 to -10 years of imprisonment etc.

To attempt in getting scot-free or acquittal in this kind of a case is bad for the accused-client where the evidence against her is heavy [ my guess..the lawyer should really know about it to be true.] Why throw away the chance is not a good strategy.

Pity JLN if she goes to a long sentence of incarceration while other accused are still to be tried etc.

The plea will surely release her from so much much anxiety, pressure and trouble saving a lot of useless expense for attorney’s fee etc.

This should be the trend of defense lawyers adopting the US trend as reasonable and practical. Common sense is important casting aside too chancy risky legal sense.

        • Kajames says

@Kajames…you and our prayers will surely be heard!

First, the Chief or presiding Justice is against a bad plea-bargain in the Sandiganbayan court.

Second, we are all watching like hawks and ready to … ^ to +ill…hahaha

and Third…when JLN pleds admission…guilty in that case for kidnapping and at the Senate, she’ll have no feeling anymore of sickness, anxiety, bankruptcy, fear of dying or atbpa! She gets a new life, so to say. Relax na siya. In comfort and ease.

When otherwise, then so be it…a long incarceration is very possible for her. Under the law repealing the Death Penalty, one provision there is – NO PAROLE is allowed when the sentence could have been death [now reduced to Reclusion Perpetua, a LIFE SENTENCE…30 Years and not more than 40 Years! ]

The choice is hers. And only hers.

Kapunan cited a “difference of opinion on strategy” as the reason behind her move to defer to Atty. Freddie Villamor, who handled the serious illegal detention case filed against Napoles by pork scam whistle-blower Benhur Luy in the earlier preliminary investigation.

      https://www.facebook.com/abscbnNEWS/posts/10151685343530168

Still, the ‘wheelchair exit‘ is being advanced in the bail hearing…whether it came from Ka Freddie or not was not clear.

Nonetheless, it was evident that Ate Lorna couldn’t take the lame strategy anymore.

napoles should have hired a team of lawyers, not just kapunan. considering the scope of napoles’ scam and how widely she is involvement, kapunan needs a team of lawyers behind her, top minds whose brains she can pick, advising her and doing some research for her, save her from the mundane. as it is, kapunan, looked stressed, she is being pulled left, right and center, always on the go, defending and releasing statement here and there. and often, kapunan does not have time to think, dont know where to look. from direct gaze, her eyes have taken to 10oclock – as in here we go again.
