With more and more registered voters having no memory of the REAL Ferdinand Marcos, the Philippines may yet see another Marcos occupying Malacañang Palace in two years’ time.
Which is why my hubby Alan thought it was very important to interview a blue-blooded Marcos loyalist. Here is what he found out.
Rising idiocy rates make another Marcos presidency possible, says loyalist
Hot Manila – by Alan Robles
Philippine national amnesia and idiocy rates have at last reached the point where another Marcos presidency is possible, a slimy loyalist announced yesterday.
“It’s finally happened, imbecility has reached critical mass – and a Marcos presidency is a go”, exulted Crawl Parole, low-level loyalist, part-time grocery bagger and amateur bodybuilder.
In an online interview attended by this reporter and dozens of Parole’s fake sockpuppet identities, the loyalist said: “We are so thrilled – national IQ is down, amnesia is up, and just as important, our country is once again rich enough to be plundered in the thorough way that only a Marcos can plunder. YES!”
Loyalist Parole said these considerations lay behind the announcement this week that Ferdinand Marcos Junior will run for the presidency in 2016.

Which of these commenters actually experienced the “human rights violations” during the time of Pres. Marcos? Which of these commenters were victims of Martial Law? I bet most of the commenters here got their infos in Wikipedia and modern history books. EDSA People Power was glorified in modern Philippine history in a very biased way. “History is written by the victors”- Walter Benjamin.
I’m 46 y.o. and I admired what President Marcos did to the country. Filipinos during Marcos’ time were disciplined. A Chinese was found guilty of Drug Pushing and was given a death penalty by firing squad. The economic development of the Barangays was Pres. Marcos’ priority. Anti-Marcos groups always demand freedom during those times…freedom from what? I was born on 1969 and a grade 5 student when Martial law ended. I lived my childhood without fear from government authorities. You can approach a Metrocom ( PNP in present time) officer to ask for directions or help without second thoughts during those times. Children were well fed in their homes and in schools. Beggars are very rare in the streets during those times. The Philippines was an agricultural giant in Asia.
“Marcos got wealthy during his presidency because he was a corrupt leader”. Youth today have no idea that he was not yet a politician, he was already tagged as one of the richest people in the world. He was a brilliant lawyer and that made him rich. Research on the Tagean-Tallano gold and Marcos.
Would the youth today honestly say that the country’s economic status improved during Cory Aquino’s time or they’re just repeating the biased reporting of the news networks?

My dad was a KM. We were not victims though for fought Martial Law, clandestinely.
My relatives liquidated some abusive military and cops too. Not communists but revolutionaries just to combat Marcos abuses. A few of my relatives were tortured, two were salvaged under Ramos.
We also have military officers working under Marcos. They belonged to RAM.
I don’t want to admit to any atrocities for my account could be hacked and might be wrongfully accused of any deaths.
Many did not directly experience intimidation and abuses by Marcos henchmen, yet the effect of devastation of Marcos kleptocracy, plunder, human rights abuses, patronage politics, Oligarchy, and corruptioj in all branches of our government and institutions are still hounding us til today and our unborn generations continue to shoulder the debts borrowed by the Marcoses as source of their ill-gotten wealth , we are burdened and obligated to pay the cfeditors from World Bank, IMF and other banking institutions whoknew pretty well tht they were lending to a crook and a thief and the money would just be transfered to their overseas Swiss accounts as wel, as other money laundering haven in the caymans as well as bahamas.
The gold claim was an excuse to be able to justify Marcos ill-gotten wealth.
During Cory’s time, indeed we were far worse thn the Marcos regime, for how could we be better when our coffers were looted and a bankrupt government of Cory also failed its duty to better negotiated our debts incurred by Marcoses and did not do its job to ask for nulling such illegal debts by the dictator with Uncle Sam’s blessing to prop up the Banana Republic of their thug Marcos in line with other dictators across southeast asia as well as the Banana Republic of Latin and Central America. Cory could have negotiated to pay 10 cents to the dollar as it was the fair debts used for our infrastructures and other programs, but paying the full amount, I consided treason and self sabotage just to appease Uncle Sam.
Marcos is the original sin, Cory was a sinner too ghrough her incompetence, Enrile the serial destablizer was one of the guiltiest for his destruction spans from Marcos time to the present administration, Ramos paved the way for the return of the Marcoses and also had his plundering crimes and not adhering and uphooding the law against the rebels who serially destabilized Cory’s government. Erap, a iehard Marcos Loyalist, expectedly welcomed the full return of the Marcoses and complicit in trying to erase any memory of Marcos atrocities in our educational system as welk as historical museums absence of such.
Gloria had her own agenda of siezing piwer and grab she did from Erap with Davide’s conspiracy to invent an illegal ‘Constructive Resignation’. Gloria could not wait for her turn to plunder our nation and six years was too short for their appetite thus the early forced departure of Erap with Cory’s and other Yellows joining the coup. Gloria expectedly disappointed us and plundered she did. Worst than plunder was her destroying every brach of government from the executive, legislative, and the remainng conscience of the nation , The Judiciary. Evry branch folded and mired with corruption designed to protect Gloria’s impending cases from Hello Garci to plunder.
Our nation was raped and plundered by our trusted leaders, luckily we have OFWs and migrants who propped up our economy and no Administration could ever take credit for we did it ourselves for our own survival. Saving our nation’s economy was unintended effect but a blessing and gave us cushion against the mismanagement and incomoetence of our elected governments.
So yes, Marcos is the most guilty for he did the original sin that our nation is still unfairly paying for the dictator’s crimes!

Also in Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferdinand_Marcos
If any of the future voters will search “marcos corruption” in google search, there are about 10 x 10 web sites telling these corruptions.
Future voters are becoming surfers, bloggers and similar act alike which at the moment penned as NETIZENS he he he he
Perhaps someday there are still Presidents but there might be Managers of these President which shall be voted via internet., whose country will be? Might be voted as well…
Progress is not impossible, during the 70’s, we can see Cell phone on a wrist watch wore by James Bond 007, but now you see lots of them became realities. The encyclopedia were hardbound books now with a click of a mouse and search for word, you got an answers.
Beside PNOY government is re-shaping a non corrupt government for the future, bills are created so that future leaders in Senate and congress will not be able to corrupt anymore. You will see future politicians becoming TRUE service men for the nation, no more PDAF to be consumed by their bellies but LAWS for them to operate sincerely.

Maybe Bong2 will never make it to that high. He’s not that sharp as the late president.
He thinks with a lootsa of money is his only way to that top but it needs more than that…many more!
He has to ‘steer the ship’ away from the rocks like an experienced sea captain.
During the impeachment proceeding of Corona, he stood up to give his reasons for his vote of acquittal…nada! Unfocused, kalat, like if he was steering that boat he was hitting the rocks!
He asks questions on the witnesses during the impeachment at the Senate… again UNFOCUSED…went to ‘bill of rights’ and so far away from the issue. Nada.
He’s shows he is dreaming and generalizing with no specifications of issues. Nada further.
He’s not brilliant like Dad. Nada furthermore. He can only copy-cat-copy his Dad’s mannerisms delivering some utterances but not the brilliant substance of it. It shows like a facade of Dad. Nada ulit.
Nah. The real negative-odds against him succeeding to that top post is more than 95%! Five per cent is more Romualdez. Ninety-five % from his Dad is missing!
He will not. If he attempts he will just lose a lootsa of money for nothing. Don’t worry too much on him. Hanggang Senate lang yan. How about to VP? Maybe very poorly. Nada finally.

such a rude man, bong marcos is. told the nation to move on, forget the past and vote for him as president in 2016. tall order, that one. how can people vote him in as president when he has not consoled the nation hurt by what his family has done? nothing to do with him daw dahil bata siya nuon. that’s bad. as bata, has he not looked outside the window at malakanyang and seen people suffering then? or passed them on the street begging? has he not read what was written in newspapers, surely as a bata he can read. also heard what was reported in radios, he was not deaf, right? he’s not blind, surely he could have seen what was televised in TV long ago? had he been living under a rock all those times not to know what went on around him? his heart hardened young as he was not to feel sympathy? nothing to do with him daw dahil bata siya nuon. didn’t the bible say ‘and a child shall lead them?” bong marcos is so much into himselfl, he cannot see what people went through, or feel what the people felt. did not help heal the nation’s wound, but rudely said, get on with it! and vote me in as president.
I hope bong marcos is prepared for disappointment. the people who he refused to acknowledge might refuse to give him what he wants.

Mahiya naman sana kayo iwan ko ba kong bakit pinabalik pa mga ito noon ni FVR?

nagka-amnesia si FVR nuon. too much cigar smooking. pickled his brain.
Jett Rink says
As I remember Imelda Marcos was already back here in 1991, and she ran for president the following year 1992. FVR was not yet president when Imelda went back and ran. No, cigar had nothing to do with it. Maybe too much mahjong by somebody in Malacanang then while the nation was suffering blackouts during 1990 to early 1992.
Den says
This article had me in stitches – and tears. It was so funny, and yet it hurts to the bone. Someone said it before more luridly, the Filipino has a damaged psyche. Three hundred years of Spanish colonization and oppression, plus a devastating war did not break our forebears. It strengthened their spirits, and made Islas De Filipinas the Pearl of the Orient during the first half of the previous century. All those was wiped clean by only 20 years of Marcos dictatorship. Imagine what other damages another Marcos presidency will bring into this already wretched nation.
Today’s generation has no appreciation of the liberties restored after the EDSA Revolt. The bloodless coup handed democracy back to a people that had been massively desensitized by the large scale looting and corruption during the Marcos years. Save for a few, people were uncommitted beneficiaries of the revolution. Should it then matter to them if they played around with their votes and elect hoodlums and clowns into the highest offices of the land? The future is bleak anyway and only the rich will get richer, so let us throw the monkeys in Malacanan and Congress and watch in glee while the hoi polloi pull their hairs and gnash their teeth in desperation – this seems to be the mantra of the hakot voters.
The very same people who elected the Revillas, Estradas, Tito Sotto, Nancy Binay, Lito Lapid, to name just a few, will be the same people who will carry Bong-bong Marcos to his coveted place in Malacanan. I believe there is a part in the Bible that says if the hands cause the body to sin, then it should be cut off. Not a bad idea.
vander anievas says
@den,
“if the hands cause the body to sin, then it should be cut off”

It will not surprise me if another Marcos occupy Malacanang in the future. What can I say? I don’t know if I should laugh or cry. This satire is thoroughly entertaining, but hurts to the core. I believe the Filipinos then were ready for independence and democracy when our forebears fought and died for our independence. But the Marcos regime undid all that. It prostituted our institutions, made a mockery of elections, and distorted our sense of right and wrong. It laid to waste hundred of years of struggle, and laid in its place a society that accepts corruption, abuse of power, patronage politics and poverty as God’s will for us. This rotten system has completely decimated the ranks of great statesmen who can lead this country to its rightful destiny. A Marcos in Malacanan in 2016 or at any other time is a sure sign that this country has crossed the rubicon towards perdition.
Rene-Ipil says
National IQ was down and amnesia up already in 1998 when a certified Marcos loyalist became president. The 2004 presidential elections confirmed such national malaise. Another Marcos loyalist was voted in 2004 as president but (un)fortunately lost in the counting, courtesy of Garci. But the Filipino people recovered in 2010 to elect a non-Marcos fan. Now, Bongbong is salivating; Imelda is hallucinating; and the Marcos loyalists are delirious about a Marcos’ return to Malacañang.
moonie says
bongbong salivates again and again, already he’s looking like a mad dog wanting to poo on the ground in malakanyang. he might as well save his own laway, that might be his only consolation.
true, imelda is hallucinating. too much stem cell therapies. behaving like miss ferversham in the great expectations, still wearing her bridal clothes, imelda pining for the past when malakanyang was theirs. imelda/miss feversham/norman bates in the movie psycho all have one thing in the past. normal bates kept his dead mother at home, sitting her up on a rocking chair, talking to her and combing her hair. imelda is no different, sitting up up dead mackoy in display, talking to him and kissing him. I wonder what psychologists say about that. her grandchildren must have been grumbling too. maybe they prefer a crazy cat woman than a grandmother who is mad.
I bet, imelda celebrates her wedding anniversary by being married to the apo bangkay with him being taken out the crypt, dressed up, bathed and perfumed as groom again, the ceremony initiated by a bishop with hangover, her celebratory wedding night, I dont want to know.
come undas, and she’ll do the same again.
moonie says
bong marcos keeps on saying people should move on and not dwell in the past. I could say the same to his mother.
Don Davis says
It is not just amnesia that Filipino voters have, it is a lust for consumer goods. Pay a Filipino enough and she will vote for the Devil for president. If you think I am joking, ask me and I will show you a photo of a practice ballot from the last election. That practice ballot had a mark next to every candidate a person was supposed to vote for. There are also two small holes, about a centimeter apart, near the top left corner. Those holes where made by a staple, which had been used to staple bribe money onto the practice ballot. It is that simple. There is no demacracy in the Philippines as long as this bribery exists in the OPEN. No attempt is made to hide it, people line up to get the bribe money. Sometimes they just keep the money and go to the market or store to spend it. But usually they go straight to the election office and vote for the people who just bribed them.
If any Marcos becomes president ever again, this country can go to hell.
vernon says
Hate saying this, but yes, there are times when we think that the country is not just headed for hell but is already there.
Sad.

imelda marcos, jabba the hut impersonator, her face more bloated than a butete, has the ultimate fashion accessory, one of a kind, unique and cannot be replicated anywhere in the world: the apo bangkay totally her own. to be kissed once in a while and on her birthdays when the media is around.
pano kasi, despite her wealth and money and beauty made possible by continuous stem cell therapies, no one wants to court or marry the widow. kaya sa bangkay na lang siya pahalik-halik. di gaya ni boots anso roa who finds a lover sincere enough to marry her. the only lover imelda can attract has been dead for 25yrs!
