President Benigno Aquino III agrees to a grilling by the Foreign Correspondents Association

“On Wednesday, the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines will be hosting the President of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino III,” FOCAP president Manuel Mogato reminded us members today.

The word “hosting” is a euphemism for the grilling that President Aquino has agreed to subject himself to annually, without fail.

This should be very interesting, what with all the issues now percolating.

Unlike his predecessor President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo who skipped meeting FOCAP altogether after the “Hello Garci” tapes, Aquino has yet to skip a single year. Or give certain conditions for his coming.

I recall that at one point, Mrs Arroyo’s aide told FOCAP she would agree to our “invitation” provided she was not asked about the Garci tapes. FOCAP did not agree to this condition.

I hope we don’t run out of time on Wednesday October 22 because of so many issues now in play.

I wonder what the local media will be focusing on, though. The Senate Blue Ribbon sub-committee hearing on Vice-President Jejomar Binay or PNoy’s grilling.

Abangan.

Tiu on interview that he is being pressed by Trillanes thru coming friends to turn against Binay. Tiu claims that he would not be harassed by BIR and other govt agencies on his properties if he would agree to testify against Binay.

Tiu said before he would attend hearing tomorrow and embarrass the senators on accusing him as dummy. Now he speaks different tone. He is playing both sides of aisles.
Tiu is preparing his defense upon investigation on his sham papers and transactions, that Trillanes is responsible.

A property owner Maria Guico pointed to Binay as buyer of her land. She signed open ended deed of sale which is a violation in real estate transaction because it is a form of tax evasion. If Tiu ended up with proof of sale on this deed of sale, it is proof he committed crime for fraudulent transactions.

Let us see what kind of proof Tiu will present as proof of sale on Maria Guico property as part of hacienda Binay. Binay has to confront Maria who is lying between the two of them on said property.

That is her copy. It would not be surprising if Tiu comes up with a copy that is dated, notarized, and signed by her and either AgriFortuna or Gregorio or some other entity who assigned ownership rights to the previous two. That seems to be the only way Tiu can show he purchased the 145 hectares in good faith and was not acting as a dummy for Binay. The provincial assessor stated in the newspapers that registered ownerships are not necessarily up-to-date and the nanes on file may no longer be the current owners. But Trillanes says he has documents to prove Tiu was acting as a dummy for Binay and Tiu says he has documents to prove otherwise. It should be interesting to find out who presents what document in the hearing on Wednesday but the money trail still leads to Gregorio. In 2013, it appears he purchased a house in Hillsborough, California for over $2 million, a town as expensive and exclusive as Forbes Park.

That;s a no-brainer Johnny Lin. Tiu is not appearing at all in any inquiry.

I am just wondering when the committee will come out with transactions on the so-called publicly listed companies in the holding portfolio of Tiu and show us what stock transactions there had been.

There was a company he listed in the NSW exchange; after a few months, he voluntarily withdres the listing. Then they listed another one… Not a normal business move..

If there is really a profitable business, why the need for overlapping companies and list these in the stock exchange only to arrange private sale between these companies? Unless one is cleaning up money source….

AMLA: multiple bank accounts of more than 10 is red flag for money laundering
US SEC: multiple international and national corporation with overlapping business products is red flag for illegal business transactions and dummy corporations.

How many Philippine business and bank accounts Tiu has? Answer is right before our eyes.
        Money laundering and dummy corporations.

Open deed of sale of real estate points to dummy status.

Binay also said that the senate is violating his civil rights.
Maybe, he is saying that he should be given due process, then he definitely should appear before the sub-committee and air his side.

And if this is what he actually meant. I think (correct me if I am wrong) its himself who would not exercise his own civil rights.

I’m writing this questions because the spokeperson of Binay is at it again, trying to lie in media, reporters even though in his own statements contradicts his message.

    1. The supposedly private meeting in Palace. They said it supposed to be a secret meeting yet it is the Binays camp who 1st released the presscon and said that the Presidents and VP friendship becomes stronger.

Many say that the presidency is DESTINY. Look at Cory and PNoy. By any stretch of imagination, both were not interested nor qualified to be president. But destiny intervened and the rest is history.

Why not HEIDI MENDOZA? In the words of Mareng Winnie, Heidi is intelligent, honest, competent and above all “may tunay na malasakit sa bayan.” I dare say. Heidi has BALLS as big as the balls of Kim, Leila, Conchita and Miriam COMBINED.

      • caliphman says

        October 21, 2014 at 10:53 AM

Because the land rights and improvements were sold and not the land itself, so no title transfer itself. This fits in with the early 2000 PCIJ report on how Binay purchased thr land without transferring title to his name.

So Gregorio among other things will have to explain how he was able to acquire the land rights he sold if he did not have title to the real estate.

        • Rene-Ipil says

          October 21, 2014 at 12:24 PM

But the buildings and other improvements are required to be declared in the real property tax declaration in the assssor’s office. Nothing is declared in the name of sunchamp except the one hectare acquired by sunchamp in 2013. The pig houses, greenhouses, mansions, etc. are never declared with the assessor’s office in the name of Agrifortuna. So the owner of such buildings and other improvements appears to be the ARBs. To the owner of the land belongs the improvements unless otherwise shown by contrary evidence.

        • caliphman says

          October 21, 2014 at 5:22 PM

I disagree that the assessors in Rosario said that there was no real property whether land or the property on the land registered to Sunchamp, which bought out whatever AgriFortuna owned including JCB Farms back in 2011. The Star Patrol video clip has the assessors saying that the land underneath JCB Farms and in other parts of the Binay estate are not registered Sunchamp. In parts of the clip where the actual records are shown, one can actually see Sunchamp’s name appearing on the screen, most probably where the JCB Farm structures are being ttaljed about.

          http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/video/nation/regions/10/09/14/jcb-farms-sunchamp-magkaiba-magkalayo-assessor

I regret being too lazy to dig out the video clips where Tiu and Martin Subido, his chief information officer, explain the current arrangement with the Binays. But those video clips have them explaining they acquired facilities from Gregorio/Agrifortuna that were being leased to the Binays. Those facilities and the leasehold is clearly Sunchamp to whom it is most likely registered and not Comia’s who owns part of that land,as the latter admits in his interview. I doubt very much all the mansions, lagoons, gardens, etc. which Sunchamp paid for in their half billion purchase are now registered in the names of the 8 names listed as owners of the land they are built on. Whether these lands are covered by long term leases with bargain purchase options or some other protective mechanism to prevent the titled land owners from claiming all the improvements is what the Senate and NBI should investigate.

        • Rene-Ipil says

          October 21, 2014 at 6:32 PM

The assessor showed that the pig houses are still declared under JCB farms care of Comia who is the registered owner of the land. The assessor also showed records that listed Suchamp as owner of an aggregate of one hectare of land far from the piggery. Nothing on record for Agrifortuna. Meaning that Comia owns the pig houses unless otherwise shown by evidence. It could be a contract between Comia and Agrifortuna or a contract between JCB Farms and Comia or other contract assigning rights of JCB Farms to Agrifortuna with consent of Comia.

        • Johnny Lin says

          October 21, 2014 at 7:10 PM

Comia in his interview claimed he is still owner of land , partner of Binay without written lease documents and did not know what’s happening on his property.

Tiu claims his Greenholdings bought from Sunchamp which bought from Gregorio. Tiu owns both Green holdings and Sunchamp.

Check both Comia and Tiu videos again.

From the videos alone, one or both of them are lying. If there was no formal existing lease as Comia insisted, how could there be deed of sale without participation of listed owner. Whatever the case, the government lost money on this purported claim 446 M sale of Tiu.

If rights were sold, did they follow CARP or DAR rules on selling govt land. Who paid annual real estate tax and business income tax or documentary and capital gains tax if sold.

Binay, Tiu, Comia and Gregorio have a lot to answer since all of them agreed they were connected to hacienda Binay, one way or another.

One reason Binay would not subject himself to questioning in Senate because he could not explain the transactions that will come out on paper. Whereas if the case is in Ombudsman he could delay answering by filing many motions until after 2016.election.

Binay is Paranoid now. In his latest interview, he threatens the senators. He also insulted the Filipinos who participated in the SWS survey thereby insulting 80% of Filipinos.

investigation of Ombudsman should be quick to indict him as plunderer while mayor before the election. Impeachment is only for his removal in office. I don’t know if it is in the constitution under Ombudsman mandate to incarcerate a sitting vice president on crimes committed in other positions.

Could Binay be arrested and incarcerated while retaining position of VP under Ombudsman mandate?
Or is it in the constitution that similar to the president, VP could not be charged criminally while in office?

        • caliphman says

          October 22, 2014 at 12:35 AM

The records on shown on assessors office scree near the end of the clip shows the contact name/address of the piggery building owner is JCB Farms c/o Comia. He was a caretaker of the property for Binay before the latter sold JCB Farms to Agrifortuna sometime 2010-2011 which explains why he is the contact/addressee. The fact that its still JCB Farms listed in the records and not Agrifortuna does not mean the latter is not the owner of the buildings since it in turn owned the business before selling it to Sunchamp in 2011. This was all before and perhaps part of the reason Greenergy was formed and authorized in 2012 as a PSE listed company to invest and own the majority of Sunchamp shares: to give the Rosario park purchase a veneer of legitimacy as part of a publicly held corporation and agritourism strategy.

@Ma’m Chit, 22 n 30 ang next hearing. Sa 30 hearing inmbitahan si binay para humarap. Ayaw pa rin ni binay. Kasi mahirap sagutin ng totoo ang mga alegasyon. Ayaw din mag take oath.
