Manila firm extols Hitler, Marcos, Mao, Stalin

My hubby Alan could not believe his eyes when he read write-ups from this local head-hunting firm praising the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos and Adolf Hitler.

Below is the result of his investigation. I just helped him gather the reactions.

A Manila-based management recruiting firm that gives leadership awards has extolled Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Attila the Hun, Mao Zedong and Ferdinand Marcos as “superattainers” who are “high achieving individuals.”

The five appear as part of a long list of leadership exemplars on the website of Chalré Associates, which runs the Asia-CEO Awards and hosts a monthly “Asia CEO Forum.” This month, it is organising a lunch featuring senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr, son of the deposed Philippine dictator.

To read the rest, please click on this link.

Interestingly, Chalré Associates has a very long list of world leaders. But this doesn’t include the late President Corazon Aquino. It apparently does not consider the woman who was instrumental in booting out Marcos as a “superattainer”.

Chalré Associates operates the Asia CEO Forum, which hands out yearly awards that are well-attended by the country’s top businessmen.

From 2015

Here is a copy of Chalré Associates’ write-up on Marcos:

Was in awe when I saw our CEO in the list. A public company that have no concern for employees’ safety, no respect for human rights and disguises itself in building churches while destroying the environment and people’s lives.

I was very surprised to read about an article on the now existing chaotic Jurassic Park as mentioned in the article courtesy of the Marcos couple to cater to their son’s hobby and love of hunting wild animals. At the moment, I I am not sure if this alleged park is still around and also whatever happened to both the animals and the native people who were forced out of the island. I think both the animals and the natives deserve some kind of attention and human/animal rights protection. Is this still a secret place or a common knowledge in the PH that we are the beneficiary of exotic animal babies that are now natural born in the island ?;} I don’t know where the island is, but is this somewhere in Palawan where the late Dr. Ortega was said to be overseeing some exotic protected animal specie? I am interested to know what happened to it, that it is perhaps became out of everyone’s attention and even to the animal society.
it is one of many whims and caprices of a bored family that has so much money and time to spend than take care of the problems of the country, but once dreamed of having their own man made paradise but became distracted and never thought to rectify the situation. Well, what can we expect, human lives were too cheap at that time to even care for the beasts that were found to be more expensively cumbersome than hiding illicit money overseas.
It is a pride for the country having your own called paradise like the Serengeti in Africa is a wasted wish dream.

You can say whatever you want but the baseless accusation allegation was Poe drained funds ftom the Philippines to fund her education and it turned out Roxas went to the most expensive schools and ones least likely to extend financial aid. Now you are accusing her adoptive parents who were spectacularly successful movie stars of ill-gotten wealth. Do you even realize how unfair and how braindead these endless unfounded accusations are??

Of course, those extolled were leaders. They led movements. Their movements may not have earned praises from everybody but such is the price of leadership. Indeed, Hitler built the People’s Car and started the industrialization of Germany funded as he was by that American private bank. MTT united tsaynah when it was all cliques, gangs, warlords and fiefs before the Long March. Marcos led the Philippine Senate and that was the time our Senate was at the apex of its grandeur and he built more infrastructure than all other presidents after him combined. Quo Rhee was never a leader. She was used only as a symbol by the anti-Marcos forces as she appears to be “marketable” figure having a “mass appeal” that can be made to galvanized people. For never having started the EDSA Aggrupation caught flat-footed as she was in Cebu when it started, she just was content in just going with the flow – an opportunist, if I may add. For if she were a leader, she should have been the one who organized all the anti-Marcos forces after Ninoy’s death but she just coasted along and even exhibited lunacy when she demanded one million signatures as a pre-condition for her patriotism. Lucky for her that JPE was very magnanimous in giving her the Presidency on a silver platter.

Where do you get your history from? Comics? True, Cory wasn’t a leader like Hitler was, if she were she would have had Enrile gassed immediately. And Enrile? the dubious character whose hide was rescued by the People Power crowd in 1986 when he was sweating with terror because Marcos was going to ship him off to Corregidor?

In December 1989, when everyone (including Ramos, as per Almonte’s memoir) wanted to surrender to Gringo and his putschists, Cory was too stupid to know she was defeated and so prevailed against the macho coup colonels. Remember what she told them? “Surrender or die.” Bad leadership I guess.

Btw, Hitler didn’t ACTUALLY build the People’s Car. And it was highly unlikely he started Germany’s industrialization because Germany was already industrialized decades before Hitler became a leader (how do you think Germany built the battleships and battlecruisers which set off the naval race which lead to the First World War?)

Oh, and”aggrupation” is not a real word. It’s an invention of the pompous.

also, germans under hitler were easily fooled, seriously believing ally soldiers can see in the dark just be eating vitamin A rich carrots! the misinformation passed on by the british. the germans did not know then that the americans had discovered radar that can pinpoint the locations of german uboats, and sunk them.

what a leader hitler was! sort of genocided not only the jews, but the germans as well. the superiority of the aryans did not prove superior at all. during 1939 berlin olympics, african american jesse owens dominated track and field. owens certainly was not superior aryan, but black as coal.

deft at genocide, hitler also wasted the superior aryans, the blond, blue eyed german soldiers, by sending thousands of them to die in the russian front, starved and ill equipped for the harsh russian winter, and froze to death. superior aryans did not meet their objective, germany lost the way, and many nazis fled to argentina only to be hunted down like rats.

hurrah to our saf 44 who not only met their objective and got marwan, they were also treated as heroes. where as hitler, born in austria, was not treated as hero and brought shame to his adoptive country, germany.

There is an important topic in the previous thread discussed by Chit about OFWs and Grace Poe. For lack of reply mode in that thread I chose to bring the discussion in the present article of Raissa’s blog to enable others to participate easily. Here are Chit’s post and my reply.

    “chit navarro says:
    July 24, 2015 at 7:10 am
    @caliphman –

How in the world can you link Grace Poe to the OFW’s situation?

    1. Grace Poe is adopted and raised by the #1 showbiz couple in the country – FPJ and Susan Roces; childless, very rich and definitely very caring and loving to their only child.

    2. OFW’s are Filipinos who look for better opportunities overseas and send back their earnings here because their families are here. On the other hand, Grace Poe was sent overseas, to the United States, to study and ensure a better future for herself. Her parents sent her money from the Philippiens to America so she can support herself.

    3. OFW’s are always hailed as heroes because of their remittances that prop up our inward funds. How do you call Filipinos who bring out their pesos and invest in another country? Especially when the country is in need of investors?

    4. Filipinos who adopt the citizenship of the country they are in are called migrants – they migrate and settle in the country and so are not classified as Overseas Filipino Worker.

So, tell me, where is the LINK between Grace Poe and the Overseas Filipino Worker? Where is the patriotism there? Does it reside in the OFWs or in the one person who brings money out of the country and invest it overseas?”

    • Rene-Ipil says

      July 24, 2015 at 8:17 AM

      I agree, Chit.

RA 8042 or the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995 provides:

SEC. 3. DEFINITIONS. – For purposes of this Act:

      (a) “Migrant worker” refers to a person who is to be engaged, is engaged or has been engaged in a renumerated activity in a state of which he or she is not a legal resident to be used interchangeably with overseas Filipino worker.

      According to Wikipedia:

” Overseas Filipino Workers, also known as OFWs, are Filipinos working abroad that are expected to return permanently either upon the expiration of a work contract or upon retirement. Balikbayans are Filipinos who have become citizens of another country and return to the Philippines for temporary visits.

Until October 2010 when Poe poerpurtedly renounced her US citizenship before Philippine authorities, she was a Balikbayan on TEMPORARY VISIT to the Philippines. In fact, by Poe’s declaration, she stopped using a Balikbayan Visa only in October 2010. So, how could she, by any stretch of imagination, become a permanent resident of the Philippines before October 2010? Not to mention that there is no document showing that she reacquired Philippine nationality before she was elected as senator of the republic.

      • Ancient Mariner says

        July 24, 2015 at 9:47 AM

Something which has been running through my mind is; did Grace Poe obtain a new passport in 2014 or simply renew her existing passport.
This is relevant because I believe a Balikbayan need not obtain a visa as long as he/she presents a current Philippines passport along with their US passport when passing through immigration.

        • Rene-Ipil says

          July 24, 2015 at 11:53 AM

Poe by her declaration and understanding reacquired Philippine citizenship automatically by renouncing her US citizenship before philippine authorities in October 2010. Meaning that she was not a Philippine citizen as of October 2010 because Poe could not reacquire Philippine citizenship by such renunciation. Poe had to do it IAW RA 9225 or by taking the oath of allegiance before the consular or immigration officials. The Supreme Court categorically ruled on that. Thus, Poe could not be issued a Philippine passport before October 2010.

Atty. Dizon: (1) “Of course, if she does not have an IC, then she has no right to even be senator.”

          (2) “There is a report that Grace Poe used her US Passport in 2009 and even had it renewed in 2011. She also filed her renunciation of her US citizenship only in the second quarter of 2012.”

If the foregoing is true, GP’s appointment to MTRCB in 2010 is defective she being an American Citizen then. Likewise, her election to the senate in 2013 is also null and void.

Can we now spread the welcome mat to Senator to-be Dick Gordon who garnered the 13th highest votes (10,159,561) in th 2013 senatorial elections?

        July 24, 2015 at 11:50 AM

@Rene and Chit, thanks for the explanation. I believe the reference to OFW was from the perspective of residence outside the country notwithstanding what direction the flow of money is. The discussion took a different turn when it should be only in relation to the question of patriotism and love of country regardless of what part of the world Filipinos found themselves to be. Parang naging fruit salad. That is just my opinion.

        • leona says

          July 24, 2015 at 1:40 PM

          I agree with Pickers 1368.

‘…the question of patriotism and love of country’ should not result in fruit salad!

Patriotism. Love of country. Two sensitive concepts for Filipinos. Would OFWs have absence of these concepts by working abroad? Why work abroad in the first place?

Answer to the last question above is because OFWs do not want to be eating ‘fruit salads’ all days and nights long. There is no available work for support himself/herself and family here.

Why? Because our democracy here with so many gov’t leaders lack patriotism and love of country! So, OFWs are forced to leave their families and find work abroad.

Buffet of fruit salads not enough! Even Grace Poe had to leave the country for another because fruit salad eating is not always good enough for her health. She even changed her citizenship for that – not eating here the fruit salad. I don’t blame her nor the OFWs.

But why compare Grace Poe with the plight of the OFWs as given here? And point out about ‘patriotism and love of country’ on their plights in their lives? Migrants who leave this country for greener pastures in other places are just honest and true to themselves and their families.

What I question is why is our country leaders causing such plights of our citizens to other countries? Because there is apparent sign of lack of patriotism and love of country here. Blame our gov’t leaders and not the citizens for all this.

Honor those who do not take plight to work abroad (except the guilty ones). These citizens here are also patriots (what can they do to remove themselves?) and they still love the country (if they only know how to take plights like the others!).

I once also removed to another country but always in my heart and mind,

I Shall Return very soon when my mission possible was done.

Now, let our country’s leaders remove this cause of plights to other countries by our citizens. They owe this to us. To our families. And then to our country.

          :-)

Chit, I cannot write an extended reply but if you have proof that Poe pulled money out of the Philippines to buy the residential properties inher SALN, then share it with us and supportyour accusations. The link to the Walnut Creek property shows it was most llkely a pooled family investment in 2005 probably from over 10 years of saved earnings with both husband and wife being gainfully employed after her graduation and marriage. Anyone who is familiar with the US real estate boom and bust would know that it was so easy to borrow from banks with practically nothing down to buy real property that lead to the real estate crash in 2008. With all due respect, this is what I am referring to when all these unsupported accusations about Poe are raised in error without proof only because it supports an agenda.

@Caliphman – you asked for proof on the investment of Grace Poe on her properties in USA.

When I stated Investment in my post, I referred to her cost of education in America. It is a fact that she was sent there to study. And she must have been classified as an INTERNATIONAL STUDENT. As such, she paid higher tuition and other school fees and she could not have been qualified for a student loan at that time. Just the cost of her education is already a HuGE INVESTMENT. And unless she is what is whispered about (not the foundling adopted by FPJ & Susan Roces), then I take back my word on bringing money out of the country – she may have been provided with the funds that were already brought out of the country 30 or so years ago.

Chit, you really do not know that unless you have proof. She could have secured a loan or send could have been an outstanding student in assumption or Boston college which as a catholic school has a preference for Catholic high schools in the Philippines. I myself had scholarships for my college and graduate schools here based on my high school years in the Philippines. If you are going that route, then you should know attended Wharton School of Finance and Harvard’s JFK school of government which is even more expensive by far. I really don’t belong here and sorry if I have to defend Poe once again but I thought I would respond just one last time since you bothered trying to clarify what you meant last time.Shalom all.

People are still hungry for a good governance. Malinis at tapat na uunahin ang kapakanan ng bayan. Is Mar Roxas ready for it? Can he be another PNoy who can jail big time politicians? Will he be strong and will not allow his wife Korina to act more than just the first lady?

I like Mar but not sold yet with his brand of leadership. But in terms of experience and character I think he is miles away with other candidates.

Yes it’s quite frustrating how in all of five years, the Liberal Party hasn’t gained any momentum at all that could have pushed Roxss to the forefront come 2016 given all the resources and political capital they had in their hands. Did Binay just really have the better strategy (until derailed by that overpriced building inquiry) or was there even a strategy at all on Roxas’ side? Perhaps the strategy was to focus on the Aquino government doing a great job such that PNoy’s endorsement should be enough to carry his annointed one all the way through 2016? I dunno, but I hope they have a better strategy come the actual campaign period as that one doesn’t seem to be going well for them.

I, too will put Roxas up there on character.

CPMers, I would like you to go to Facebook, in the search area, type of Typhoons and Leaders. this narration was written by Congressman Kit Belmonte on December 13, 2014. He among others, went to Borongan, Eastern Samar with DILG Secretary Mar Roxas and see for yourself.

          Hi Pelang.

Hard to find the facebook page you mentioned. But I think this piece below is what you wrre talking about, right?

Thanks for pointing it out, it’s very rarely we find good things being said about Roxas in mainstream media. I wonder whose strategy that is. :)

Hi Pelang, is this the link?

          Of Typhoons and Leaders

          http://guinarona.com/2014/12/15/of-typhoons-and-leaders-a-repost/

After seeing how news of his motorcycle slide was taken out of context by people who were not there, I think it is a good thing that there was no media in the market that day. If there was, I am pretty sure that all that drive and determination, all that attention to detail and leadership by example would have been reduced to a seemingly epal photograph of a perceived contender for the highest office in the land, shoveling mud and picking up trash in the market to curry popular favor. No, for us who were there that day, Mar Roxas was not popular. BUT HE GOT THE JOB DONE!

thanks BFD, that’s the one. In fact one of my friends who was there and had witnessed it, praised him (silently) and said to herself, he really is sincere and surely the people who were there, witnessed it too but it didn’t land on the newspapers. only the story about the motorcycle accident (almost) landed on the newspapers to ridicule him. But people of that Province (where i come from) are very appreciative for what he has done.

How right you are Ong-Lo. ‘Carry a sack of onions,’ ‘drive a pedicab’ are samples of shallow ideas!

Pam PALENGKE lang yun! Poor judgment. Mar Roxas should kick the originator next time the idea is suggested to him. When he rolls to my side I will kick the originator over the Cliff.

i think mar should project what he really is.
an elite with love for country and its people.
he must give insights that he is for industrialization and progress.
to lure back all ofws from around the globe coz it will be rewarding now that he holds reins of the land.
he must capitalize on the gains and momentum of the BPO being at par with big players.
          etc. etc.
he can touch down to the masa if there will be food on their tables thru the vast employment opportunities he shall be creating or had created…

This potential investment opportunity will not be hard sell. A nice large plot of idle land is all it needs, plus a couple of more videos in You Tube and a some connection in media. The main selling point is the cash flow. Seriously.

Ano ito? Does INC have power of arrests over some of its members?

Angels and Da Manalos – calling Dan Brown!

Is the INC premises/territory a State like the Vatican City? Seems serious allegations are on the air.

Soon, INC can demand their own holiday, own territory and INC Basic Laws. By then, they can do a Vatican-style religion. The govt should stop accommodating religions as it’s clear about the separation of church and state.

While a religious group can be exempt from tax, ang individual at hindi. Nabasa ko kasi sa news articles some ministers and officials are living in luxury at the expense of lowly members. Parang mga pajero bishops ng catholic church.

BTW, IMO angel and teeny manalo and the family holed up in their house is held under duress. Yung visit ni pagdilao was just for show, pagdilao is an INC member.

It looks like what is happening at INC is power play and money. The bible says “love of money is the root of all evil.”

          A Powerful Union

The church’s Internal Constitution lays down strict rules of behavior for its members. Drunkenness, adultery, and disobedience of church teachings are punishable by expulsion. Church members are also not allowed to join unions, making them ideal recruits for certain business establishments. “The church itself is a union, a most powerful union,” said a senior INC member.
