It’s now all set.

BOOK - hot off the press - THUMB

The book launch of Marcos Martial Law: Never Again, a brief history of torture and atrocity under the New Society is on April 4 Monday afternoon at Balay Kalinaw, otherwise known as Ikeda Hall.

Here’s a link on how to get to Balay Kalinaw.

I will be there starting 1:30 PM for book signing and of course meeting all my friends from Cyber Plaza Miranda, Facebook and Twitter. All those who have direct messaged me saying they want multiple copies, please come early :)

Each hardbound, fully-illustrated book will cost P2,500.00.

During the launch day only, all those who will buy one copy of the hardbound book will be entitled to get two paperback versions free. The paperbacks, however, are not yet available, so these will be couriered to the buyer later. so please don’t forget to leave your addresses and contact numbers.

The bulk discounts on launch day are as follows:

Two to five copies – 5% discount off the selling price.
Six to 10 copies – 10% discount
11 to 15 copies – 15% discount

The program proper will start at 3 PM to 6 PM.

I will soon post what the program will contain.

THANKS!

P.S. I can understand why Ateneo needed to put stringent security measures in place. The safety of the students is the paramount concern.

I hope teachers and students from Ateneo might be able to drop by on Monday for the book launch. Ateneo is close to my heart. It is where I started honing my craft in writing under Fr. Joseph Galdon.

P.P.S. sorry, I forgot.

For pre-orders, pls deposit payment to:

AHS Grupo 58 Inc.
BPI Family Savings Bank
Cubao 20th Avenue Branch

    Sa FACEBOOK source

    SHOCKING: From the Lips
    of the Dying President FERDINAND
    MARCOS. Must Read!
    [Dying
    in Hawaii]

[as reported by VP Doy Laurel. . .]

. . . “Please tell Mrs. Aquino to
stop sending me her relatives. They
are proposing and asking so many
things. All I want is to die in my
    country.
    ”

    . . . “I will run over 90 percent of
all my worldly possessions to our
    conversation to our people.
    I ask
only 10 percent for my family.”

. . . “Just let me die in my own country.
I want to be buried beside my mother.”

The dying President was a lawyer. Why
‘run over ONLY 90 percent’ of his worldly
possession x x x to our people? And
what is meant ‘RUN OVER 90 PERCENT’?
[or did the President say ‘I will TURN OVER
    90 percent’ x x x?

He could have executed a last Will & Testament
and sent this to Malacanang for probation in
our courts before death, or after death with instructions.

And with that his being BURIED beside his mother.

But it never happened this way. Is it true he wanted
to be BURIED beside his mother? And not at the
    LNgB Cemetery?

    Is this FB source true?

          April 2, 2016 at 6:41 AM

makoy, through his secretary, ought to have firstly, sent telex to cory to convey his dying demands. 2ndly, telex (we only have telex in those days) should then be followed up by formal request in a form of person to person meeting. that’s common office procedure lalo kapag yong communication is from one ex-president to a sitting president. so,I’m wondering, why did makoy deviate?

is it because ang dying wish na ito ay kagagawan lang yata ni james parmis?

        • moonie says

          April 2, 2016 at 6:50 AM

anyhow, makoy was not expecting to die, he was expecting to live forever. he even denied he was sick, at galit na galit when news came out na may sakit siya.

        • moonie says

          April 2, 2016 at 10:19 AM

instead of making last will and testament, makoy was most likely making plans for a comeback, and might have been supporting military coups against cory. kaso, god has other plans: lumubha ang sakit ni makoy at namatay siya.

sa bandang huli, yong mayor daw na nakiusap ng mga protesters ay may dala-dalang swat team, maybe as body guards. angry looking kasi ang crowd at mukhang kakatayin si mayor. dapat sana nag-order kaagad ng pizza, ice cream, fried chicken at pepsi, yong mayor at nagpakain, and between tuka, discuss among them how best for the crowd to disperse, stop their barricade of the highway so traffic can flow. at bigyan sila ng extra food bilang pabaon bago magsi-uwian.

sabi ng mga protesters, gutom daw sila. that’s their excuse for occupying the highway. I would have thought na kung talagang gutom sila ay lulusubin nila yong bodega na nfa where tons of government rice are being stored.

FCDA. . . foreign currency deposit ACT is really FOREIGN to Filipinos

. . . ‘Today, 43 years since its signing and 28 years since Marcos kicked the bucket, this Marcos-era law continues to embarrass the country. . . ‘

. . . ‘As this heist shows, the Philippines is still the go-to place for hiding dirty money. Except now everything happens with binary code and in the blink of an eye.’

. . . ‘The rest of the banking world has gone through significant changes since 1974. Even Switzerland’s highly secretive banking laws have given way to greater transparency. ‘

‘Unless the FCDA is repealed or changed, the Philippines will continue to hold on to its nefarious reputation as the world’s dirty money “laundromat” where crooks from all over send their dirty money to get it “cleaned.” Published 4/1/2016.’

    Binay—– 23 percent
    Roxas- 19 percent

It seems that instead going up, Roxas is going down.

not yet but mar must totally dissociate himself from “daang matuwid” and he has 39 days to do it – but come to think of it – all his yellow posters are already festooned in the highways and conspicuous places that remind the people of his unattractiveness/ineffectiveness and only a miracle can make him win, by hook or by crook

Basing on the latest survey, it is expected that the MV BINAY and MV ROXAS are in danger of sinking and its crew (senatoriables) may abandon the ships anytime soon and try to join the groups of poe and Du30 – if there’s still space

@ uprightbike, Kalahari, Vhin AB, pelang, i can feel your disgust over these survey results on Mar. That’s understandable.

just don’t get swayed by these (SR). instead, talk to your respective families, relatives, friends, neighbors and if possible to the opposition and enlighten them of the good news and tidings about the beauty of the DAAN NA MATUWID.

we all know, intelligent voters, that this is politics and every candidate has prepared their own agenda and platforms. and only Mar’s platforms has already been tested to be effective and pro-poor, pro-people and economically sound, transparent and accountable.

even the opposing aspirants have in fact acknowledged that these programs of government which are implemented now are sound and of great help for our people. they even “promised” to continue these programs. e.g. 4Ps, BUBs, etc. when get elected.

They sound true and trustworthy but to me, only RORO can handle and continue these programs with integrity, morals and accountability. i don’t have to mention of course those wannabees.

i appreciate & respect your ideas and comments posted here but the most effective way i think is the suggestions i mentioned above. if we can talk and convince 2-5 people about this and they can also convince other 2-5 persons and so on….then there’s no reason that RORO loses in the May 9 elections.

we are very good in this kind of marketing…multi-level strategy. and we are doing this right now here in our faraway region. and it makes a difference indeed. we are progressing tremendously.

truly, there is no perfect form of government and federalism is not an exemption to this. duterte promises to adopt this kind of gov’t but i tell you..our history and culture, behavior and character is not fit for this kind of government as of now…we need the next or the next two generations to change for this. ideally, it sounds perfect but not yet…hinde pa tayo hinog dyan. lalo na sa abilidad at karakter ni duterte who has the tendency to kill with impunity.

si poe naman, i just don’t know…baka mas grabe pa seguro siya kay pres cory noon. we cannot just hand her the presidency in silver platter….she’s a nobody in running our future and our children children’s future. she’s pure and simple pathological LIAR!

binay succumbs to his evil deeds and doings….God never sleeps anyway!

only RORO so far has the ability and moral capability to run our government.

      God bless us all Filipinos!

      • aberato says

        April 1, 2016 at 2:10 PM

the reason,i think, why they ridicule the DAANg MATUWID was the way our gov’t handles corrupt gov’t officials….parang selective daw. i don’t think so.

the ones who said this are the ones that are selective in their claims. we cannot just see this in specific terms instead we have to look at this in general terms. that there are top gov’t official who are dismissed and charged appropriately in courts criminally and administratively. marami na.

so their claim na selective daw ay bintang lamang and is very easy to refute and support with facts. tamad lang sila mag-usisa.

The latest PA survey merely reiterates the March 1-6 survey where Poe got 28 and Duterte had 24. Poe expected an increase of at least 10 after her SC “win.” The last PA survey is clearly a disappointment and eye-opener to most people. Christian Esguerra of ABS-CBN News said.

“But Poe’s numbers were nowhere near what many of her supporters had expected—an increase of up to 10 percentage points—after she had hurdled questions over her citizenship and residency before the Supreme Court.

We, the RoRo warriors, must not be fixated with the issues of Poe. It is Mar Roxas who needs help. First, the citiizenship of Poe then her supposed failure to get 10 percent boost after SC decision.
If we are really for RoRo, then we should stop rationalizing but instead formulate program to help our candidate.
My comment is about Roxas and still comments about Poe still came into the picture.
Pabayaan na natin si Poe, si Roxas intindihin natin. Malapit na eleksyon

Bahala sa buhay niya si Roxas. I am for Duterte.

I had my biannual checkup with my doctor the other day. He was also the doctor of my late father who died about three decades ago at the age of 75. Before I left, I was pleasantly surprised when he told me that he was hoping Duterte to be the next president. Considering his stature, I asked him why Duterte of all the presidential candidates. He told me that his family and people like him are concerned so much about the drug problem and peace and order. I added that a federal government is also necessary. He concurred.

You’re right @uprightbike,we should just disregard Poe.

If we dont want a Binay or Duterte presidency we should only vote for Roxas since Poe could be DQ’d anyway with the NBFC still not fully settled by the SC. If Poe wins, the next president will be the candidate with the 2nd highest vote. That is why the candidates are hitting Mar and not Poe.

      No, from that same survey:
      Duterte 26, Poe 24, Roxas 22, Binay 19.
Roxas will win the election unless he allows himself to be cheated.

Those PERCENTAGES are SMALL! I do not really believe in surveys like these. Wala mang lang nakaka abot ng 50 percent!

What does such surveys results mean? It’s all FLUID dangerously for ‘to be’ winners and losers!

Throw the towel? Not even the SOAP! Not the PILLOW! Blanket? No Way! What should be thrown?

    In the news last March…

The rave reviews ranged from “very enlightening,” “daring and articulate,” to “guilt-inducing.”
“Hindi na Muli (Never Again),” a play that seeks to educate the post-Edsa generation about martial law atrocities committed during the Marcos years, capped its weeklong run on Saturday—and may be poised for a rerun outside Metro Manila to reach more young audiences before the May 9 elections.

“They appreciated that we were brave and articulate in presenting the issues. They also liked how it connected to the young generation,” said the playwright and director Bonifacio Ilagan, sharing the reaction of the viewers in an Inquirer interview.

“They even felt guilty. It’s because they know and they have read about these human rights violations but they never thought it could be this emotional,” said Ilagan, one of the activists jailed and tortured during the Marcos regime.

During its run at the Bantayog ng Mga Bayani in Quezon City, the play was seen by about 300 people nightly, mostly young professionals and students from the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University and Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

      Bantayog root…

“Freedom has dawned magnificently upon us brought about by our own will, with the help of Divine Providence. We stood together with linked arms as we proclaimed our unity, our dedication to liberty and democracy, and our commitment to our country. With boundless faith, we broke the chains which enslaved us in a regime of terror, intimidation and fraud.”

“But as we enjoy our liberation, let us not forget those who fell during the night. Let us honor the Filipino patriots who struggled valiantly against the unjust and repressive rule of Ferdinand Marcos. Let us build a memorial to those men and women who offered their lives so that we may all see the dawn.”

“For as we remember those victims of authoritarian rule, we shall become more vigilant about preserving our freedom, defending our rights, and opposing any attempt by anyone to foist another dictatorship upon us.”

“In honoring our martyrs, we proclaim our determination to be free forever.”

reminds me of martial law. people were taken out from the streets and from the safety of their own houses. there was fear and intimidation in the air, also mistrust. stick out like a sore thumb and you’ll be sorry, very sorry.

that was 30yrs ago. now, in 2016, we should not be made to undergo the same. we refused to undergo the same, determined not to undergo the same. and we’ll read raissa’s book like we read the bible.

happy launching day, raissa. kudos, kudos, kudos.
