Throw the towel? I did!
As reply to @uprightbike at 23.1
Throw in the towel now and salvage whatever is left.
It is your choice to throw your towel if you are for Roxas, but it is also wily of you if you are a Poe supporter.
Most of us here are principled Roxas and Robredo supporters. We are not easily influenced by manufactured surveys for we know how the game is played, dirty and cunningly!
As I shared before, there are two kinds of surveys: Manufactured Political Surveys (usually shared with the public) as propaganda and mind conditioning, and Internally Commissioned Surveys (usually not shared with the public) as a tool to recalibrate the party’s campaign strategy.
Some like @baycas believes in the credibility of SWS and PA surveys that are published for public consumption, but in the get go I already announced and shared to CPM that it does not matter whether Roxas is number one or last in the surveys, we should always presume that published SWS and PA political surveys for public consumption are not credible knowing the history of our elections where SWS and PA were used as tools to propagate lies and influence the outcome, or much worst to validate the rigged outcome. There is even a devious plan to make the surveys appear close to the outcome of rigged elections in the past so as to legitimize the results.
Every seasoned national politician in the Philippines knows how the game is played and they know the power of manufactured surveys. A lot of them who are moneyed used the services of these two polling firms for their release of manufactured surveys as well as internally commissioned surveys used to calibrate their campaign strategies. But the same politician also knows how powerful and influential a popular incumbent president, that is why every presidential candidate coveted to be endorsed by Aquino!
I often share the inside info from Poe’s camp as well as Roxas’ camp to enlighten the readers. I am not always right but most of the time I am for my unreliable sources often disappoints me me to be reliable. There is still 35 days until the E-Day (Election Day) and in politics that is quite a long time and many surprises still in store for us.
One question that the public should like to find the answer is that,
Why is it that the manufactured political survey results are now made to appear tighter and no runaway winner?
One malicious insider said that it was the handiwork of Roxas Camp!!!
Another question that a seasoned pundit is asking is:
Despite President Aquino’s assistance or Poe to hurdle her cases in the Supreme Court and made his SC appointees lawyering for Poe and even Solgen Hilbay was given a marching order to defend Poe, why is Poe embed with Aquino’s enemies and now relentlessly attacking Aquino?
An SC insider noticed that there are plenty of lobbyists checking in Baguio hotels and most of them are from NPC camp. There are also frenzied activities among known former SC justices, like Artemio Panganiban who kept on calling SC justices to make sure that they don’t flip-flop now that they are deliberating the Motion for Reconsideration filed by COMELEC, Tatad, Elamparo, et al.
In Poe’s camp, they are disappointed on the lack of exodus coming from LP, which they were cock-sure that will happen once Poe hurdled her DQ cases.
Why is there no exodus from LP yet?
An LP Politician who is a perennial winner and has the nose of Talleyrand and likes to bet on the winner, why would he leave the winning party when all their studies and strategies are in place to assure victory?
**
Roxas and Robredo supporters are not supporting them for their personalities alone but the idea that they are the ones who will bring less damage to our nation.
Ro-Ro supporters fight until the end and are not quitters!!!

Timely too with the recent phallic festival in Japan meeting his doom. humiliate him in his own game. He tried to counter by being magnanimous but it’s all pretense. Here is why:
In his response 27.1.1 what did everyone observe about his character?
He was off topic, did not discuss the survey, did not mention the towel and here is the cliche.
@parekoy did not end his verbose by writing his handle and date of his comment which was his original way of posting. He revealed his original self.

IMHO, the next bomb will come from the Supreme Court due to its half-cooked ruling on Poe’s DQ case that touched only on the Comelec’s grave abuse of discretion and not on her citizenship and residency issues.
“The Supreme Court decision allowing Senator Grace Poe to run for president portends a looming constitutional crisis, the oldest organization of lawyers on Monday said in a statement.”
“Philippine Bar Association (PBA), the oldest voluntary national lawyers’ organization since 1891, said a judicial ruling is supposed to resolve issues in a legal controversy with finality.”
“PBA said the high court could stir a constitutional crisis with the possibility of electing a natural-born Filipino citizen on mere presumption “potentially being ousted from office by a majority vote of the Supreme Court, the resulting mandate is weakened from inception, the balance of power among the great branches of the government is upset and the contentious issue of succession comes to fore.”

There will be a constitutional CRISIS within the Supreme Court on the Poe cases. What is that?
The DISPUTE on this provision –
“(2) All cases involving the constitutionality of a treaty, international or executive agreement, or law, which shall be heard by the Supreme Court en banc, and all other cases which under the Rules of Court are required to be heard en banc, including those involving the constitutionality, application, or operation of presidential decrees, proclamations, orders, instructions, ordinances, and other regulations, shall be decided with the concurrence of a majority of the Members who actually took part in the deliberations on the issues in the case and voted thereon.”
The ‘7’ justices have a different RULE, an Internal Rule of the SC on ‘the concurrence of a MAJORITY of the Members’. Is such ‘interpretation’ of this RULE by the 7 justices in conformity with SECTION 2 of the Constitution?
Can the 3 JUSTICES outside of the 7 justices on the ‘citizenship’ issue VOTE with the 6 DISSENTING JUSTICES to tip the minority of the 7 justices (under the SECTION 2 majority rule) on the MOTION FOR RECONSIDERATION?
This is the constitutional crisis: How To Properly Count the MAJORITY Rule in the Supreme Court in accordance with SECTION 2 Article VIII of the 1987 Constitution.

I am still waiting for the so-called “grand plan” of RoRo that will change the equation and make the team win the elections.
The thought of Mar losing the election is one thing I hope I was wrong.
Survey after survey showed that he is losing yet his strategists and supporters keep on following the same campaign plan.
Early on, too much harping on the achievements of the admin but short on promises to have a better life for ordinary Pinoys.
While his opponents promises the moon on the stars, which sadly resonates withe voters, Roxas change tactics late in the game.
It is quite obvious that Roxas campaign team has recognized that thier man must also promise something and not rely on his good image alone. But I think it is too late now.
Meanwhile, some of his more brilliant supporters, wasted precious months attacking Grace Poe instead of spreading the promises of Roxas.
Throw in the towel now and salvage whatever is left.
Leni is still winnable. Go Leni go.
greenpea says
@uprightbike,
I agree with you mostly. The problem with the Mar Campaign is that it is class blind and so it failed to see this election as a class struggle. Now he is being made to pay for all the years of government neglect and virtual abandonment of the poor who are now creating their ‘golden calf’ in one of his opponents.
But even if there are just a handful of people who will vote for Roxas, I will still be one of them.
I am not being blindly and stubbornly loyal to Mar Roxas. I believe in his integrity and sincerity. But for his leadership to emerge I hope that this experience will teach him to break free from the narrow confines of his class mindset.
There is a difference between a president and a leader. This election and aftermath will show if Mar Roxas is both, just a leader or neither of the two.

So are you saying and/or implying that his “leadership” skill is still nascent after almost 30 years of being in Philippine Politics? With such a “slow” learning curve, I doubt then whether Mar will magically metamorphosize in the next 6 years (as President / Leader). Just thinking out loud.

Inquirer: An analogy
The Ones Who Walk Away From Davao
I can’t help thinking of Omelas whenever I hear someone describing Davao City as a utopia. Omelas is the fictional city in Ursula Le Guin’s short story, “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas,” which won the Hugo Award for best science fiction short story in 1974.
In the story, Le Guin describes a city so ideal that it might as well be from a fairy tale. So why would anyone walk away from such a perfect place, as the story’s title suggests?
Because for Omelas to remain peaceful and prosperous, the city requires that an innocent child be perpetually tortured in a locked room with no window. All the people of Omelas know it is there—the room, the torture, the child. They know that their health and happiness depend on the child’s misery.
Most who see the child for the first time go home in anger and agony. But after some time, they accept the terms of Omelas: happiness for thousands in exchange for the suffering of one.
But some don’t go home at all. They walk away from the torture room and keep walking away, alone, to a place that is not Omelas.

Aquino Administration is under siege!!!
There is now a coordinated effort by Aquino’s enemies from Poe’s financiers and Escudero, Bongbong’s Camp and Martial Law loyalists, Binay, and Duterte’s Communists supporters to undermine and shame Aquino, sabotage and put him on the defensive so as to lessen his influence on voters who he is persuading openly to vote for Roxas.
The main goal is to defeat Roxas.
Poe’s camp is now pressuring Aquino to fully support her and dump Roxas. For some reason, Poe’s camp abandoned their strategy not to criticized Aquino for after deliberations among their strategists, they decided it is better to put Aquino on the defensive and spread the blame on Roxas. Poe’s strategy could backfire for Aquino still has the upperhand and just a phonecall away to end Poe’s quest for the Presidency.
Binay on the other hand wanted to shift the conversation to Aquino Administration’s perceived Kapalpakan so us not to further erode Binay’s unpopularity.
Duterte is now taking advantage of politicizing the Kidapawan incident and rally the masa to support Duterte as the now champion of the farmers. The governor and administration is to blame but Duterte would like to pin the blame to Aquino and eventually erode Roxas numbers through association.
I am waiting to be surprised by Aquino and his mea culpa for betraying Roxas and right the wrong that Aquino initiated by supporting Poe to hurdle her DQ cases in SC.
April is really cruel, but to whom?

This should be the shining moment that was supposed to be seized by SuperMaryo being the former sec of DILG and he should have started to take actions on the truth of events from the Mayor and the Governor together with the police or military
He can be the Batman or Superman that the poor farmers were waiting for but looked who came over, the simple Robin the sidekick or the real life Superstar.
Leni the wonder-woman is quick to assess and assist while the rests are busy minding their own business of prepping their election turf.
Truly, Batman is the new Badman and Superman is not so super anymore.
Kid-a paw-an is just going to be another kid’s game but fatal and streak with blood.
April showers is a reddish tinge, oh boy , I am having a change of heart and mind like Aquino, I better dream of a role reversal between Wonder-woman Leni and Super Maryo.

i think nagpalabas na din ng statement ang RORO. robin padilla is campaigning for duterte. now, do you wonder why he is so fast to do such a thing? mar is already resigned as dilg. we have government officials who are now in position to do such a thing especially to investigate. and by the way, i think RORO team is in hong kong when the incident happened. at iyong nasa balita hindi lahat na mga nag rally ay taga kidapawan. mayroong nakatira sa ibang parte ng davao.
imho, it’s not na mabagal or mahina. mar’s character is not the same as other pres. candidate na mahilig makisawsaw sa issue at sisihin ang government. ayaw nyang pumapel sa issue that is not mandated to him YET.
sabi nya noong 2nd debate, kung sya ang PRESIDENT pupunta sya at gagawin nya ang dapat nyang gagawin sa abot ng kanyang makakaya. sa ngayon ay HINDI PA SYA PRESIDENTE kaya hayaan nalang natin iyong ibang candidates na pumapapel. have faith on RORO

Isn’t this a little bit at odds with the statements in your comment 16?
Parekoy says
Nope.
I had the information before my vacation that Poe’s camp was not going to criticize Aquino and let Duterte and Binay do those.
But I received text messages that Poe’s camp abandoned that strategy and now going head to head with Aquino.
Poe is putting a lot of pressure on Aquino to discredit Roxas. In Kidapawan debacle and NAIA brownout.
Kidapawan was not Aquino’s fault but by the governor and local police. NAIA’s power loss is highly suspected as sabotage but Abaya is not admitting it so as not to appear weaker.
There is now a coordinated effort to discredit Aquino Administration and pin everything to Roxas by association. It shows that the race is already in the very interesting phase wherein everybody is desperate to win!
But as I implied:
What Aquino giveth,Aquino taketh away
Aquino giveth to Binay the VP victory and when BInay crossed him, Aquino taketh away and see where Binay is right now…
Similar to Binay, Poe did not learn fro Binay’s mistake to never antagonize Aquino…

Incidentally, SWS is now using ‘validated voters’ as respondents.
Boss Johnny proposes that to be ‘validated’ as voter one must present an updated proof of CORRECT tax payment.
The barbers said in unison…
baycas says
We must understand that the original “face-to-face interview” is costly than the “mobile survey” being done at present using ‘rehashed’ sample of respondents.
Some of the barbers’ clients call the latter: ‘tipid moves.’
Parekoy says
The ‘Pioneering Mobile Surveys’ that SWS and PA are conducting are meant to control the outcome and and a scheme to pass as legitimate and credilble surveys. But as I already pointed out it is not legt nor crdeible.
Tipid is is one of the excuses. With billions of pesos under the disposal of different parties, a million pesos per survey is chicken feed to attain a credible survey knowing that our labor is dirt cheap.
But the main problem is that we are wrongly attributing credibility on our SWS and PA surveys. They are rigged and used as propaganda and mind conditioning tools.
The default should be for us to trumpet and educate our people that these surveys are not to be trusted and rely on their local knowledge of the feedback of our neighborhood and that is usually more reliable. Anything outside our neighborhood when it comes to polling remains suspect.
I was involved in more local surveys and we found out that the uninfromed locals who are undecided relied on name recall and their choices are fluid until the last week of the elections. The masa is usually persuaded by vote buying and the masa has this unwritten covenant that they vote for the candidates who gives them more money or any form of material persuasions.

“Take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of the face-to-face data collection method”
Please be wise to read Susan E. Wyse here:

Ancient Mariner says
@Baycas. I’m not sure that face to face data collection will be very dependable in the Philippines as there is too much wiggle room and corruption is endemic. I understand the ladies logic but believe it speaks against face to face data collection from social groups D and E.
baycas says
That’s why there is an amount of caution in ‘presuming regularity’ in the conduct of their operations.
However, similar results as ‘predicted’ compared to results that actually happened are the hallmarks of one survey firm’s credibility.

Those are stages of cancer of SWS and PA surveys!
moonie says
metastatic na, nagkakalat na yong cancer.
but that kind of cancer is easy to contain. people dont usually trust strangers asking them questions, the way they dont trust census takers knocking on doors. sometimes, census takers were set upon by guard dogs at nakagat. paminsan, doors are not open.
pollsters will be looked over and siezed and if pollsters dont give freebies, they’re not likely to get viable answer. and even if freebies are given, people can still be mischievous and tell lies. they would have to sign affidavits to be truthful.
baycas says
Scientific surveys ‘live another day’ despite your claim.
Scientific surveys are here to stay.
The two G.R.’s, unless the SC reverses itself, are also here to stay.
It’s up to readers of these surveys…and perhaps readers of your claims too…to discern what is ‘benign’ and what is ‘malignant.’
kalakala says
also to discern what merriam said during the 1st pres. debate na kasalanan ng kanyang guardian angle kung bakit hindi sya pinatay sa kanyang stage 4 lung cancer

mali yata si miriam. it’s not the job of guardian angel to kill people. trabaho yan ng grim reaper. but, if miriam wants to die, she can anytime. she just have to pinch her nose and not breathe for 4 minutes. then death of human organism will occur.
now about scientific surveys, uhm, pseudo science, science fiction . . . halos lahat gawain natin ay scientific. even making babies is scientific. there’s fertilization, the x chromosomes, the y chromosomes, gestational period, etc. walking is scientific too, it’s a metabolic activity that influence the heart rate. eating is scientific and kicks off digestion with enzymes like saliva starting the process, aided by mastication.
scientific surveys, ba’t patago-tago sila? tinatago yong respondents. dapat lahad lahat, that’s true science.
moonie says
pollsters should show us who the respondents are, whether they’re humans, animals or aliens. show us their faces.
Ancient Mariner says
@baycas. Thank you for the link. I will now read through the document a few times and comment if appropriate.
baycas says
Respondents are sampled randomly…in stages, in the case of the example given…in order to eliminate selection bias.
Mang Bernie’s informal survey of all clients that come their way in the barbershop will never represent the bigger population (NCR only or national). It may be prospective in nature but the cohort is not randomized.

You’re welcome, @A.M.

ancient, ang tanong mo, how pollsters chose respondents? methink, their respective family members and relatives are within easy reach, available at a moment’s notice. family members are duty bound, discreet and not likely to reveal their whereabouts. mga suki na sila, and their answers rarely varies.

Q’s on DQ, Redux
COMELEC, Tatad, and Elamparo et al’s EMotion for Reconsideration was filed and SC is ready to deliberate.
Nelson Victorino, Chief of Staff of Poe, is quite alarmed in the latest lobbying for Poe’s disqualification. Recently, Poe’s camp made a very clear order among their team not to criticize nor antagonize Aquino on any issues. They are concern that Aquino is piqued when Poe criticized Aquino on the planned modernization of AFP. Aquino was also really furious when he saw the photos of Poe and Bongbong embracing each other and making ‘beso-beso’ and now forming a secret alliance to dump Escudero for Bongbong’s benefit. Aquino is now regreting and questioning the wisdom of also secretly supporting Poe when Poe is now seeking the support of INC and Gloria!
Poe’s camp did not factor Aquino’s negative reaction on the above politics by addition. Aquino is a jealous guy and expects Poe to deliver her part of the bargain by not having alliances with Aquino’s enemies:Bongbong and Gloria.
Now that the EMotion for Reconsideration is filed and Poe’s DQ case ia going to be deliberated anew, then all bets are off for Poe’s political life hangs on the balance, courtesy of Aquino appointed SC Justices. Poe’s camp realized that they overplayed their hands too early and underestimated Aquino’s power and influence in the last months of his administration.
Will Poe be doubly lucky this time?

Parekoy, what is your opinion on this?
I hope you don’t find this silly but thinking about it, if the SC is treating the Constituion as an unimportant element of PH law, then let the brilliant minds nitpick as well on the GENDER REQUIREMENT of the President as stated on the document…. stating that >>>
ARTICLE VII
EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT
Section 1. The executive power shall be vested in the President of the Philippines.
Section 2. No person may be elected President unless *** he*** is a natural-born citizen of the Philippines, a registered voter, able to read and write, at least forty years of age on the day of the election, and a resident of the Philippines for at least ten years immediately preceding such election.
AND SO ON….it maybe a non issue but if the SC is converting most of the qualifications of the law, why not focus also on the meaning of this precise statement (s),he is, he shall he shall.
I am sure the SC plates would be full for making amendments unless there is an existing law that “he” is a generic term for both she or he.
OK lawyers, get on with your research and we may find a golden treasure of another ROUND OF DISCUSSION ,, truth or false. I find this interesting.

@netty,
In legalese, he means a person of either gender.
There is a drive to change the bias and be politically correct in the verbiage of our laws, but our lawmakers are a lazy bunch , that is why we still have Marcos’ created laws through Presidential Decrees!!!
If we need to eradicate Marcos fingerprints, we need to overhaul our Constitution and reword it that it is created and ratified by the people and throw away Marcos; Presidential Decrees. This is why this negligence is still hounding us.
Laziness and incompetence among our lawmakers seems to be the norm. I wonder why Bernas allowed the Presidential Decrees adopted and continue to be part of our laws…

Here is what is happening now around the world of corruption wherein the richest are exposed but nobody goes to jail because even the jails are constructed by them and judges are employed by them.
This thing goes beyond incompetence” butt ‘ it is the curse of the gods to mankind who don’t know what to do because of eons of dogmatic and material conditioning and still trapped unaware and became indifferent to the plight of the worldly affairs.

I think only a handful of hundreds of exposed documents are now being scrutinized.
Are some people feeling like taking anti anxiety or purchasing tickets to fly and save their loots?
Indeed, there are watchers.:)
What the journalists, those who are really working for the light, need to do is follow the train and trail of the money and exposed to the people’s ridicule.
While this is ongoing the people should be exempted to pay taxes for some restitution, for gloriously cuddling these scumbag thieves inside the country. IF THEY COULD PUT THE MONEY OVERSEAS, THROW THEM OUT as one condition not to be punished , never for them to come back and loot again from the Filipino people.
