All directions point to Duterte as our next president. In fact Roxas, Binay and Poe are convinced of the Duterte phenomenon. That’s why they are now clutching on straws by imitating his platform of government, highlighting his alleged weaknesses, delving on non-sequiturs and blabbering ad hominem.

So let us consider the person who would be president next to Duterte’s presidency – during or after his incumbency.

That person I believe is Alan Cayetano who it was the lone opposition to Enrile’s obvious bias towards Corona during the impeachment trial in 2012. It was
Alan who made Corona admit how much dollar account he had with the bank, which admission made Enrile and cohorts to abandon Corona. It was Alan who had the courage to confront Enrile about Gigi and the conjugal senate presidency which resulted in “yung kahoy.” It was Alan who exposed the myth of Enrile’s invincibility.

Not to mention the fact that Alan Cayetano tormented GMA and FG no end. Remember his role n “hello Garci” and Jueteng exposè , etc. Consequently, Alan got zero votes in Ampatuan’s Maguindanao courtesy of FG in 2007. The mantra was “anybody but Alan Cayetano” to no avail.

In the 2013 senatorial elections he was the bonafide team Pnoy candidate that topped the elections. Chameleons Poe and Legarda came first and second in numbers courtesy of Binay, Enrile and Erap. During BBL hearing it was Alan who courageously exposed the duplicity of MILF in protecting Marwan that led to the SAF massacre.

It was Alan who made mincemeat of Bongbong Marcos in the recent vice presidential debates. It was Alan who told Bongbong – “Pati ba naman oras ko ninanakaw mo pa rin.”

And it was Alan who to a large extent convinced Duterte to run as president and stuck with Duterte to the end. Loyalty is a virtue now in the verge of extinction.

Who could be the best person to succeed President Duterte but Alan Cayetano? The qualifications and virtues of a Vice President and President are rolled into one in the person of Alan Cayetano. Not that I love Leni Less, but that I love my country more.

      April 15, 2016 at 2:22 PM

I forgot to mention his sterling role in the senate investigation of Binay’s plunder of Makati. But we are all too familiar of such events.

I really wonder why Alan Cayetano is now almost in the bottom insofar as the surveys are concerned. What has Marcos, Escudero and Robredo done to the country that merit our shabby treatment of Alan Cayetano?

ARE WE NOW A NATION OF INGRATES???

      • Ancient Mariner says

        April 15, 2016 at 7:48 PM

Cayetano does not deserve any other treatment than he is currently receiving.
Sadly, his support for Duterte has revealed him to be a hypocritical opportunist. Having spoken out against and roundly condemned corruption and criminality in others for him to support Duterte reveals the truth about him. I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him.

        • Rene-Ipil says

          April 15, 2016 at 8:04 PM

What is opportunistic about Alan in pronouncing his support for Duterte months before the latter decided to run for president? And you are now contending that Duterte is corrupt and Roxas is lily white. You are also making a sweeping generalisation that all supporters of Duterte are opportunist. Please correct me if my perception about you is wrong.

        • Ancient Mariner says

          April 15, 2016 at 8:14 PM

I make no generalisations. I refer only to Alan Cayetano about whom the post refers.
You know as well as I do the facts about Duterte. Please don’t ask me to quote them as they are all common knowledge.

Based on the “social media postimngs” of Duterte fanatics, these people have been reduced to a group of indecent, stupid, uneducated group that they cheer Duterte on even when cursing and cussing on stage; making fun of a rape victom and sayng :sayang, dapat Mayor ang nauna”….. what kind of sick mind would say that in public? Daig pa ang asong ul-ol!!!

Ganyan ang gusto niyong Presidente? Let me ask the question back: ANO ANG NAGAWA NI DUTERTE PARA SA BANSA TO DESERVE THIS KING OF CRAZY ADULATION?

As for Cong. Leni Robredo, she has been working with and for the porr people long before she joined politics – that’s why she knws how it is to be wanting in life and has the heart to help them uplift their lot in life.

Ask the BBM and Escudero fanatics but perhaps, it is easier to ask Lisa Marcos Aranet and Heart Evangelista. Asan ang asawa ni BBM? Is she at all in the hustings, campaigning for the husband?

Robredo has done much more than what Cayetano has done. He has worked in the grassroots level outside of the limelight of the media, without fanfare, but with greater effect.

Also, can Cayetano do the same, work at the grassroots level without the fanfare of media?

However, with Robredo, it’s documented in Bicol. If the Robredos hasn’t helped the grassroots there, I doubt if the Villafuertes could lose there, but they did. It shows how deep the people love them for what they do.

          April 16, 2016 at 7:54 AM

          BFD,

The issue on dynasty is irrelevant and impertinent as to why the people choose Marcos, Escudero and Robredo over Cayetano. Marcos is a political dynasty twice over. Escudero has his mother as congresswoman of Sorsogon. Robredos are close relatives of Villafuertes. In 2007 nagueño.blogsphere.com wrote:

“IF THERE is one thing common between Camarines Sur Rep. Luis R. Villafuerte and Naga City Mayor Jesse M. Robredo, it is the blood of Confucius that runs in their veins.”

“In 1986, Jesse was picked by his uncle Luis, then an Assemblyman, to run as mayor of Naga City and won. Four years later, they would part ways and become bitter political rivals, with Luis even denying in public that they were blood relatives.”

My question remains. What have Marcos, Escudero and Robredo done to the country for the people to treat Cayetano shabbily? It is not about Ferdinand Marcos, Salvador Escudero, Jesse Robredo or Rene Cayetano.

This has already been debunked by Parekoy at his post #17 (pahiram lang po)

Little learning is dangerous.

Si Jesse Robredo ay may lahing Chinese. Yung Tatay ni Jesse eh ang adopted na mga relatives eh sila Villafuerte, pero dugo o DNA eh wala.

          April 17, 2016 at 3:34 AM

What have Marcos, Escudero and Robredo done to the country for the people to treat Cayetano shabbily?

Please leave out Robredo of your question, because work for the masa is of public knowledge, EVEN when not in public office. That is a true gauge of public service.

Also, who is treating Cayetano shabbily? No one is treating him shabbily, but he’s contradicting his stand on issues he held before and the he holds now. Let me explain:

          http://filipinofreethinkers.org/2013/04/26/know-their-stand-alan-peter-cayetano-senatorial-candidate/

          Anti-Political Dynasty – AGAINST

“It’s not really whether magkakamag-anak kayo. Ang tanong kung maganda ang serbisyo ninyo o hindi.”

          My opinion:

His line of reasoning is aligned with the reasons given by political dynasties.

Let there be a level playing field. Let not one family control city hall or a region or a country so that shenanigans can be uncovered by the next administration and corresponding actions can be taken against them.

          Death Penalty – AGAINST (2013)

“Whether its one day, one year, one hundred days or the death penalty, if you think that you won’t get caught then the penalties mean nothing.”

          My opinion:

This is where he contradicts himself in 2016. In 2013 he is against the (legal) death penalty, but in throwing his hat on Duterte, he’s showing that his conviction can change at his whim if it suits his political ambition. He now wants to fight criminals the Duterte way, which is really what? Extrajudicial killings? How did Davao was made “peaceful”?

This is dangerous for the nation because it shows his inconsistencies. That goes to show for his sister too who is a women’s rights advocate by not raising a howl whenever Duterte smooches different women in public.

Thanks for your elaborate comment on Leni and Alan. It’s always nice to read issue based comments. Your should be emulated by some CPMERs who insist on personal insults against the commenter or the candidate. I believe you have educated a lot of people.

        • BFD says

          April 17, 2016 at 8:37 AM

Thank you, Rene-Ipil, for your comment. I just feel that Allan should have been consistent in his stands. He was my first choice when he declared his vice presidential aspiration because of what he did before, his intelligent line of questioning. I mean, this guy really rocks when it comes to interrogative discussion.

But, and I hope you don’t mind, when he threw his hat and picked Duterte, that’s where the veil lifted. It showed his true color. He just wants power, power to perpetuate his family’s hold on Taguig, which is his bailiwick.

As I have said, I am for a level playing field, let other families run this time. The people deserve to know and have a counter checking of local officials. Let the Anti-Dynasty Bill pass now. Nine years in office for a political family is enough, let the other term be for other family to control and let’s see what happens.

They say competition breeds quality of service. Let there be quality of service for the people.

      who clutching at straws who?.

      Roxas-Robredo rivals clutching at straws
      WebBanners_PressRelease

The rivals of Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo in the May 2016 elections are clutching at straws and taking desperate swings in an attempt to draw away support from the tandem. First—contrary to Duterte’s image of using guns over diplomacy—Duterte said he would concede the contested land in the West Philippine Sea if China would build him a train: “Build me a train around Mindanao, build me train from Manila to Bicol,” he said in a press conference on April 7.

It’s obvious that Duterte’s toughness is only meant for small fry. When faced with a larger power, despite the support of the international community for the Philippines, Duterte would much rather concede Philippine territory. For a train.

IS TEODORO “NEIL” LLAMANZARES A BATTERED HUSBAND?
    .

When people talk about a battered spouse people usually refer to a battered wife. It is very seldom that we hear of battered husband.

Some people are asking if Teodoro “Neil” Llamanzares is not a battered husband. They are asking because it seems like Neil is always on the short end of the stick. Consider these:

    a. Grace Poe and Neil Llamanzares used to own a community residential property (we call it conjugal property in the Philippines) at 112 Los Cerros, Walnut Creek California. In May 5, 2005 Neil executed a grant deed declaring the property to be a sole and separate property of Grace Poe, thereby giving up his marital rights to that property. Why?

    b. When Grace Poe Llamanzares ran for senator she dropped the name Llamanzares and just took on her maiden name Grace Poe. For most Filipinos dropping a husband’s name by his wife is considered a slap in the husband’s face.

    c. When Grace Poe filed her COC, when she attended the Senate and Court hearings, and when present in other public events, Susan Roces was frequently and visibly present by her side, whereas husband Neil has been noticeably absent, probably feeling ignored and unimportant.

    d. When Grace Poe registered her advocacy corporation with the SEC she calls it “Friends of Grace Poe Foundation”, not “Friends of Grace Poe Llamanzares Foundation”. Neil funded this group with P1.99 million in donation but the name Llamanzares is conspicuously absent in the corporate name. “Parang itsa-pwera si Neil,” said some observers.

    e. If Grace Poe were really honest about staying in the Philippines permanently, as her new domicile (and that it were not just for political show) why is Neil still holding on to his U.S. citizenship? Is he expecting that someday he might go back to the U.S. to live a life separate from Grace Poe who would be staying for good in the Philippines, as she claims she would do?

Is Neil Llamanzares a battered husband hiding under the skirt of Grace Poe? If Grace Poe could treat her husband like this, how would she treat the Filipino people?

mukhang snub si neil and keeps his distance. ayaw makihalo sa mga pinoy. I doubt if he can speak tagalog.

Nag-aral naman siya ng matagal na panahon sa Pilipinas (Elementary to High School) bago siya nag kolehiyo sa Amerika. Sigurado marunong siya magsalita ng tagalog.

people doubted neil’s ability to speak the national language dahil bihira siyang magsalita. he is rarely heard speaking in public, smile and wave to taumbayan, take time to talk to them, ask how they are going. did they have a nice day? parang wala siyang pakialam. snub baga at hypocrite pa.

marahil, neil’s words are precious to be wasted on ordinary people. only the privilege few got to hear him. if that is the case, duda ako if ordinary people will vote for his wife. why reward grace the malakanyang if her husband will only snub majority of people who are less privilege? mga linta’t dumi sa paningin niya. if neil cannot stoop down to the level of the lowly taumbayan, be with them once in a while and be the father of the nation, then malakanyang is not for him, not for his wife too.

vote roro, mar roxas and leni robredo sa mayo 9, 2016.

          @kalakala @moonie

Simple lang sagot dyan kung bakit hindi naririnig mabigay ng political statements or campaign si ginoong llamanzares. Dahil siya ay american citizen, he will violate the election laws oras na mangampanya sya para kay Gracia.

Pansinin nyo si Brian, nagsasalita before the official campaign. Nagleave pa raw sa CNN Php para ikampanya ang ina. Dahil american din, tahimik na.

The Philippines is a sovereign nation and should not be led by a foreigner. More so, ayaw ko rin na foreigner ang first family.

RORO all the way. The true Filipino leader.
