It says, “Come one, Come all”.

I wonder if those who believe the Marcoses should show remorse for their dictator-father’s misrule and the family’s refusal to give up the stolen wealth are also welcome at the Quirino Grandstand on May 5, 2016.

I also wonder which protest photo they used as the background here.

Hmmm.

BBM---Miting-de-Avance-May-5-16

@Mel is absolutely correct. This BBM photo of a huge crowd was “lifted” straight out of the 1995 visit of Pope John Paul II.

Promises, Promises and Promises. ang daming promises ni grace llamanzares. bagong airport dito, bagong airport doon. ang laki ng percentage para lamang sa mindanao..the fallowing ecerpt is a must read:

    Budget limitations

According to her, the new president cannot do as much “unless he does exactly what the preceeding administration did – transfer funds and create savings.” (READ: Next president limited by Aquino admin budget for 2 years – Briones)

The budget department earlier announce that 90% of the 2016 budget has already been released.

“How will they implement reforms they promised within 6 months, 10 months or one year after assuming office?” Briones asked.

Budget preparations for 2017 has already started, and Congress is set to start its hearings by June. Briones said that the president-elect will only have a month for inputs in the 2017 budget.

Of the candidates, she said that Roxas will not have a problem as most of his programs are geared toward continuing those from the Aquino administration. But other bets will sure have.

“At the end of the day, voters should be able to distinguish which candidates have plans that would produce revenues,” said the former national treasurer.– Rappler.com

Duterte widens lead in latest ABS-CBN-Pulse Asia survey

In a survey conducted from April 12 to 17 on 4000 registered voters, Du30 widens his lead over Poe by 12 % from the previous seven points.

Duterte got 34%, Poe 22%, Binay 19% and Mar 18% with a margin of error of +/-1.5 percent

      @kalahari
Ang survey na iyan ay ginawa before the duterte “rape joke” commissioned by abs-cbn and they have been always harping on this.

      April 24, 2016 at 11:47 AM

The survey was done before the rape remark, just need to put a note on that.

Anyway, when the new survey outfit, D’Stafford, released their first non-commissioned survey they brought out their methodology that is different from SWS and PA. It’s the same face-to-face with respondents but based on percentage of voting population per area or region. I find it interesting and with sense, too. They’re also claiming that it’s how the US polling firms do.

In that survey, Mar Roxas got the lead with 32%. D’Stafford also somewhat questioned the methods of SWS and PA because they said that it’s how survey should be done. We’ll see what happens next. More surveys will show up in the next two weeks.

The votes will not come from the surveys. The votes will come from the massive support of crowd for Mar-Leni. So no worries about the surveys that incredibly never favored LP from the get go. LP’s strategy in this presidential race is the best. They work so hard to draw crowds. It’s the right thing to do because relying on surveys is relying on weak and shifting sands.

I just hope that people will watch the final presidential debate, bare with the commercials, and be keen on which candidate will be better for the country’s future. I believe that continuity from an imperfect but a great start is the only choice rather than a change. Going back to square 1 does not guarantee progress for the nation.

I have been here in Singapore for the past 12 years and the majority of the citizens here still prefer the ruling party, though there are still the minority to keep check and balance. The government is not perfect either but they keep on improving their policies that benefit the people and sustain modest growth. Yes there are issues like the increased influx of foreign talents but I see this as quite normal as we have seen in developed western countries.

Let us not hold on impossible promises from someone who does not have a reputable background or from someone who does not respect humanity. I am choosing Roxas and Robredo for continuity of what Aquino has started though there is still more work to do. Roxas is truly imperfect, but just like the rest of us, we have bad decisions in the past but we do learn from our mistakes and become better individuals/ leaders. Let us also not judge people by just looking on the bad scores but let us also look on the far better good deeds that he has done for the country.

Come May 9 I hope people vote wisely. I have voted already in the embassy and I do hope people in the Philippines will pick the best choice for the country.

      Go RoRo!

Ive been following up du30 of his campaign rallies in all places in the country. A massive attendance had been obesrved. What a CROWD!! Hindi hinahakot.
People are fed up of promises of the same system of government..same old same old…these people, me included, want some1 to lead this sick country.
There are now more people from mainstream Manila, academics, even bishops, celebs, who show support of Mayor Duterte.
        Why??????????
Because they feel the need to CHANGE the present system of politics..
        Dati po ako makaMarLen…
But i switched to ducay tandem…
Have u able to watch the campaign rallies of du30Cayetano?? OMG!!! I shed tears…..people from all walks of life..they attended..to listen…dont lnow if u guys happened to watch one..Or you just refuse to becoz u dont like guy..
Dont mind of his foulmouth…let us look of what he did in davao city..im sure he can replicate that to a country once he becomes our president.
Remember the men in the old testament of the bible: david, solomon, among others..im sure u know the life of these men..but The Good Lord made them kings…

campaign & poll volunteers and accredited party representatives to secure counting & votes casts from the precinct level, municipal, city, regional, provincial to the national tallies. daan daan, libu-libong tao iyan.

Since this is a town hall type of debate, I hope that one if the issues that will be raised is the issue on the environment and mining.

The Aquino administration, through the Mining Industry Coordinating Council has approved the adoption of the No-Go-Zone map for mining, or areas banned from mining activities but some mining companies have sought for the exclusion of their exclusion.

On a macro level, I wonder how the presidential candidates would position themselves.

    1. Will they uphold the no-go-zone for mining? Will they ban mining on small islands where its population, carrying capacities, the watershed and fragile ecosystems are threatened?

    2. Will they opt for the nationalization of the mining industry?

    3. How do they define sustainable mining?

    4. Will they work for the damage compensation, social and environmental justice of communities affected by mining past, present and future?

Artisanal, small-scale and large scale mining bring destructive impacts to the air, water, land and ecosystems. How will they address these?

“In speeches around the country, Aquino narrates to the audience how at the beginning of his administration in 2010, he and his Cabinet felt the low regard foreigners—government officials and businessmen alike—had for the Philippines and Filipinos.

One time, the President said, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima was at a global finance ministers meeting and no one spoke to him. Finally, at the end of the meeting, someone approached Purisima, who thought the man would discuss Philippine affairs with him. Instead, the man merely asked if the empty seat beside Purisima was taken.

In another instance, Interior Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento, when he was Calbayog City mayor, was invited to speak at an international gathering. At the immigration line, Sarmiento noticed the immigration officer stamp the passports of the delegates from Japan and Singapore without any question, even doing so with a warm welcome.

When his turn came, Sarmiento said the officer asked the purpose of his visit and for a copy of his invitation to the event.

Mr. Aquino also recalled that his fellow leaders in Southeast Asia did not immediately warm up to him in the first years of his presidency. Two of them, he said, even lectured him on what the Philippines should do to grow and develop.

“I didn’t have anything to show at the time so I just swallowed my pride. But that was then. It’s different now,” he said.

Last week, Duterte lambasted US Ambassador Philip Goldberg and Australian Ambassador Amanda Gorely for “meddling” in local politics after the diplomats said rape was not an issue to be joked about.

It could spark a popular movement of the poor and jump-start a process of radical ferment, or it could pave the way for a facist regime supported by a disgruntled middle class. In either case, it is difficult to see how, under a Duterte presidency, the country can avoid entering another period of political uncertainty.”

    WHO IS TEODORO “NEIL” LLAMANZARES?

Many people are wondering who is Teodoro “Neil” Llamanzares, the husband of Grace Poe.

What did Neil do while he was in employed at the U.S. Air Force? What did he do when he was employed by the secretive SAIC?

Is Neil still a dual Filipino-American citizen, or did the sensitive nature of his work with the U.S. Air Force or SAIC required him to relinquish his Filipino citizenship?

In her Federal form DS-4079, subscribed and sworn by her on July 12, 2011, Grace declared that her husband is a U.S. citizen, not as a dual Filipino-U.S. citizen.

These are very important questions that Grace Poe needs to answer with clarity if she wants the people to elect her as President because the people have to decide if they want an American first gentlemen in Malacanang.

Let’s move on from that.

I am not a fan if Korina, but I agree with you. She is the most acceptable among the would be first lady or first gentleman.

(Dennis Gadil of Malaya Business made mention of this regarding the Large Taxpayers Service (LTS) of BIR in his blog on Oct. 5, 2009).

First Spouse (lady or gentleman) carries no official duties but participates in humanitarian and charitable work on behalf if the president.

Cory Aquino had daughter Ballsy and PNoy has Kris, the sister as de facto.
But behind the scene, the first spouse wields great power be it for good or bad. The first spouse also makes or unmakes the President.

          ——————————————————————-

Vice presidential candidate and Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero on Sunday said the issue about the possible deportation of Neil Llamanzares, husband of presidential candidate Sen. Grace Poe, is political harrassment.
Manuelito Luna, counsel of former Sen. Francisco “Kit” Tatad, alleged on Saturday that Llamanzares is an American national working in the Philippines without a valid permit.
Tatad said he will ask the Bureau of Immigration on Monday to investigate the claim.
Speaking to reporters after a fun run on Sunday, Escudero insisted that Poe is a natural-born citizen and has legal basis to stay in the Philippines.

    Last Di-Bati, 2016…Predictions

    Expect these:

Duterte wil be clobbered (Bugbug) by Binay, Poe and Roxas, while Santiago will be mild to Duterte as per Marcos’ instructions.  Duterte will have a hard time answering his Necrophiliac Scandalous Comments and also his Daughter’s rape admission. Duterte will try to brush it off the first time but because of his temper he will challenge Binay and Roxas to an actual fight.

Roxas will accept Duterte’s challenge even on stage and Duterte will  be paralyzed since he is not used to being counterchallenged. Duterte will say that they can settle this outside with a duel and other excuses while Roxas will just say he is not going to be intimidated by a person who relies on goons. Roxas will increase his stock for being firm and a leader who can stand to bullies!

Binay however will be sidelined for if he accepts Duterte’s challenge he will look like a kid being taunted by a bully but Roxas with his height and build and his young age will look victorious in putting the bully Duterte in his right place. Binay will have a hard time with Duterte’s counter by being accused of raping the coffers of Makati. Binay wil just call Duterte rapist and even insinuate incest.

Poe will keep on attacking Duterte on his demeaning and lasciviousness on women, but Duterte will just tell Poe to go back to America where she belongs.

Roxas will attack Duterte on his claims of Peace and Order in Davao City by citing again the statistics from PNP where Davao City is fourth in Crime and second highest in Rape cases. Roxas will debunk Duterte’s claim that Duterte can eradicate crimes and drugs in the Philippines at the first three to six months in office. Roxas will tell Duterte that since Duterte will surely can’t deliver his outrageous promise, Duterte will again claim that this is one of his jokes-Duterte’s collection of sick jokes, like he wanted to be the first to rape Jacqueline Hamill and trivializing Sara’s claim of rape by tell the whole world that she is a Drama Queen! Roxas will remind the Filipinos to be wary of this kind of Duterte’s. Leadership who considers himself above the law!

Duterte will be the punch line, to put it mildly, but the reality is Duterte will be the punching bag and Miriam will be his shield.

Roxas and Poe will be the winner of this debate. Binay will score some points but because Binay is equally mired with corruption, it is like calling the kettle black (Parekoy’s pun intended). Santiago will surprise us depending on the effects of her dosage of soup of drugs she took before the debate, either she is too happy just to be on the stage or be the bitch that she is and needle everyone except Duterte.

So far this last debate will be a historic debate among the Presidentiables for there will be no holds barred. Expect Duterte leaving his place and approach Roxas or Binay to challenge them, where there will be incidents of physical contacts. This Debate would have some interruptions because Duterte’s temper.

My prediction is that Duterte will walk out from the stage once he can no longer take the heat, and will concede the debate, and ultimately his Presidential quest. Sasabihin ni Duterte,

Bahala kayo sa buhay nyo! If you like an American, Don’t vote for me. If you like an undecided leader, Don’t vote for me! If you like a thief, Don’t vote for me!

Roxas and Poe will be the winners of this debate, and the manufactured surveys will show the same based on the poll after Duterte’s meltdown of his, I should have beem the first to rape Jacqueline Hamill freudian slip non-joke!

Roxas will fight to convert Duterte’s voters from the ABC demographics viewers.  D and E are “convertible votes” and are not affected by the debates but could be bought by the usual persuasions-money.

Unfortunately, Duterte’s among Duterte’s rivals only Roxas has the balls to fight and show the viewers how tough Roxas is in fighting the lies od Digong and challenged Duterte to withdraw if Roxas can show the evidence that there are recipients in Davao City, which Duterte accepted. Every body but Roxas stood up against Duterte, Poe was not able to put Duterte in the corner when it comes to Duterte’s abuse of women! Binay was silent n Duterte and rather zero in Poe. Santiago as expected formed an alliance with Duterte per Marcos instructions, but in her closing statement, Santiago forgot about it and nagpasaring kay Duterte about his bunganga ang saying things without thinking.

Overall Roxas is the winner and Poe a close second. Duterte is third and Binay a distant fourth. Santiago is a goner so parang nagingbsaling pusa and a person pf curiousity for her healt and mental conditions.

An Australian news anchor has told his audience not to go to the Philippines if Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is elected president.
Paul Murray, Sky News Australia television presenter, showed on the April 19 commentary program the video of Duterte delivering his now infamous joke about the rape in 1989 of an Australian missionary.
“That evil bast_rd!” exclaimed Murray after running the video of Duterte’s comments during an April 12 campaign rally.
“I don’t know what’s worse: him saying… or other people actually laughing along with it,” the Australian presenter added. “It’s disgusting.”
“If he (Duterte) becomes president, tear up your tickets and don’t go to the Philippines,” Murray suggested to his viewers.-

Ang pinakamaraming watchers – paid of course – sa mga presinto plus the most popular would win by a landslide. Meaning that like Erap, PDP-LABAN has now much much more money than Poe and Roxas.

    • Vhin AB says

      April 23, 2016 at 9:16 AM

      • Rene-Ipil says

        April 23, 2016 at 9:47 AM

Hindi mo na-gets. Ang dayaan ngayon ay vote buying. Watchers kunyari.

In the SWS survey of May 2-4, 1998, ERAP was 18 points ahead of JDV. Before that ERAP was leading by 11 points.

“The previous leads of Erap over his closest rival had been at least 11 points in the SWS surveys of January 16-23, February 21-27, March 7-16, March 16-21, April 8-16, and April 17-23, 1998, four of which were published exclusively in the Manila Standard.”

        • Vhin AB says

          April 23, 2016 at 11:33 AM

I got your point.

‘Charge me, so I could also kill you’

        by CATHERINE S. VALENTE, REPORTER

DAVAO Mayor Rodrigo Duterte renewed his vow to kill criminals and threatened to also kill those who will file criminal charges against him as he hit the stump in the capital heading into the home stretch of a controversial campaign.

“The drug pushers, kidnappers, robbers, find them all and arrest them. If they resist, kill them all,” he told about 2,000 people who cheered and shook their fists during a central Manila rally shortly after midnight.

“Go ahead and charge me with murder, so I could also kill you,” he added.

    Elections 2016-Last Two Minutes Weekends!

Puyat pa ako pero from campaigning for Roxas-Robredo but I think CPM deserves additional news from the actual ground and not only from the speculations from the armchairs pundits and CPM contributors from the foreign lands.

    ***

I have been on the ground. Interacted with Poe’s, and Binay’s campaign at the ground level, but sorely missed is Duterte’s.

It is funny that among my friends we are passionate about supporting our candidates for the Presidency and the VP but we never take it personally. Why? We are seasoned and we know that even our candidates if they win will ultimately disappoint us. The only question is to what degree of disappointments?

As I observed, Binay has a formidable ground game despite his waning popularity, while Poe has some but Poe’s strategy is to ally with BInay’s and Roxas’ local candidates, kumbaga naki-ki-ride sa mga sampol ballots na pinapalitan ang Pangalan ng Presidente na Poe kahit na sa BInay Team or Roxas’ Team.

Roxas camp, I observed, is one of the most disciplined campaigm sa ground game. Bautista is making his Comelec in bad light para yung mabanas kay Aquino ay banas din kay Roxas at lilipat kay Poe na suportado ni Bautista, and Duterte has the list so these two camps can take advantage for their candidates.

Nice, you were in the open battlefield, made personal assessments compared to pencil pushers under the roof. Although in real war, there are generals directing strategies in the battlefield and those remaining in headquarters plotting strategies.

“Knowledge is useless without understanding how to apply it”, Remember this!

Who is going to win based on your personal assessment? Only one name, cheating or no cheating!
Deflection or refusal to answer is braggart’s way.

make it easier, No explanation, no ifs or excuses. name only!
Choose only one name between two protagonists Roxas and Poe, Poe and Duterte, or Duterte and Roxas

Easy for others without the luxury of going to battlefield, most probably @Rene will choose Duterte, @Victin will select Poe, @Chit, @Yvonne @Leona @Mary and co will point to Roxas.

      He he he!

As I see it as of now.

Binay – a foregone conclusion, not likely to win.

Poe – slowly losing ground, but don’t bet against her yet.

Duterte _ surging ahead, but may collapse at the end.

Roxas – fast catching up with Poe and Duterte, may pull a surprise and unexpected win.

Wise bet: Roxas to win. I”ll take any bets from anyone.

You already won for courage and sticking to principles. A Roxas win will be trifecta.
Humble too by conceding not to bet against Poe yet, much better than loudmouth cockalorum.

I will reveal my winning forecast after third debate. Absolutely, it’s not Binay!
          He he he!
