What can you do to help fishermen like me who want to fish near Scarborough Shoal?

Duterte  says he will go and confront the Chinese Coast Guard himself. Otherwise, if he sends soldiers, that will be a massacre.

Roxas – There are two aspects to your problem. One the local the other international – cash for work, help in 4Ps. The international – tututgunan pangangailanganmo pero hindi natin isusuko.

The words of a commander-in-chief are closely listened to by everyone.

My opinion – Roxas had the best answers. He analyzed the problem and stated his solutions to both.

ISSUE NUMBER TWO – TRAFFIC IN METRO MANILA

Miriam Santiago – we have to build a new railwa system onecting Metro Manila to Bulacan, Sorsogon. New modern airport. The president must appeal very strongly to drivers to exercise discipline.

My opinion – Senator Miriam Santiago’s mind seems to be wandering. This is not the Miriam the public is used to.

Duterte – build new railways along Pasig River. I will ask MRT an LRT to add more trains.

Grace Poe – enforce the law, esp. on illegal parking. LRT Extension to Cavite, make it now. Think of a subway system. I will appoint a secretary who will act as the “traffic terminator”.

My take – Hasn’t she heard of the Metro Manila Development Authority chief who is in charge of traffic?

Roxas – what they are promising, it is already being done now.Such as the new wagons for the MRT, extensions of LRT – to Laguna. We will bid out bus franchises.

My opinion – The MRT wagons could have come much earlier.

Binay – I’ve been MMDA chief. Implementation is what’s needed.

Miriam Santiago – lets build a new city near Clark, Pampanga.

Duterte – dagdagan mo ng train. on the long term, kopyahin ko na lang yung sinabi ni Miriam.

ISSUE NO. THREE – What will you do with contractualization?

Both Duterte and Grace Poe say contractualization has to stop.

But they did not say how.

Roxas – the loopholes in the law have to be plugged. It’s easy to stop contractualization. We will lower the cost of electricity and increase the number of ecozones.

Binay – I will remove income tax.

Grace Poe – I will lower corporate tax.

My opinion – Subcontractualization has been there for ages. And only now they are talking about it.

ISSUE NUMBER FOUR – What will you do for OCWs?

Grace Poe – Did I just hear her thank OCWs for the taxes they pay?

Just a thought – OCWs don’t pay any taxes.

Binay – proposed pension plan. And free membership in OWWA.

Someone on Twitter is asking whether Roxas has a cheat sheet because he is so well-prepared. This is actually the Roxas I interviewed over a decade ago.

Duterte – said he will create a bank through which OCWs will remit.

My take – the problem is that this will force OCWs to remit in only one bank and they will be at the mercy of that bank’s rates.

Grace Poe proposes to do away with the terminal fee at the airport for OFWs.

My take – Grace Poe does not know that OCWs are exempt from paying terminal fees. The problem actually is that when OCWs buy plane tickets online, the terminal fee might be included in the purchase price so they end up paying the terminal fee and they have to be refunded.

My question – does a presidential debate have to be THIS BORING?

I don’t hear any clash of ideas or programs so far.

FACEOFF

ROXAS VS BINAY

ROXAS – asked about overpriced hosptial bed and building.

Binay’s reply – Alam mo Mr. Roxas, ikaw ay shoot na shoot sa tagalog. ..Ilang beses ko na sinagot ang pinagsasabi mo. Binay then talks about agriculture.

In short, he declined to answer it.

ROXAS – persists in asking the questions.

Binay – tells him, you are not the judge. Hindi ikaw ang hukuman.

DUTERTE vs POE

Grace Poe asked Duterte what his administration will do for women. Poe just gave Duterte a wide opening to show off.

Poe follow-up question – do you think

Duterte – that is what I am. You are you. I am I.really yung babae na na-rape sa Davao, pinatay ko nga ang 16. No malice in the narration (later on).

Grace Poe just wasted her questions.

Duterte – let off Miriam.

Miriam – I’m almost normal now.

Miriam – I have been the subject of much black propaganda concerning my health. There is a new cancer drug. I have almost returned to normal.

Miriam – I believe there are three requirements. Academic, professional and moral excellence.

Roxas – I think my record – 23 years in public life – not connected to any kind fo anomal , speaks for itself. The most important word that a public servant has is to say no – no to temptation.

Miriam – in all these years you have been shapeed by the elitist background. do you not think the road istoo narrow…

Roxas – you have been witness to my work in the Senate fighting for cheaper medicine…

BINAY VS POE

Binay asks Poe about changing her citizenship.

Poe – says she has remained Filipino.

YES OR NO

Binay – will place two Arroyo cabinet men into his cabinet – Gary Teves and Peter Favila.

Duterte – yes to burying Marcos in Libingan ng mga Bayani – yes, because it’s time to heal.

Grace Poe – he renounced his US citizenship a month ago.

My question – Did Duterte promise to kill his son if he’s found to be drug-dealing?

HEALTH CONCERNS

Miriam – she says, dapat alam nila (barangay health workers)

Duterte – one doctor per barangay. I will commit Pagcor funds as a trust fund for medical expenses of people.

Did Duterte just commit to something? That he will withdraw if Mar Roxas  is able to show him people from Davao benefiting from Philhealth?

Miriam Santiago really has a problem recalling and expressing. She is not the Miriam we know.

Duterte – nothing will appease the Moro people if ou do not give them the BBL. Says we have to talk to the NPA.

Grace Poe – I will pursue peace talks with all groups.

Senator Miriam Santiago seems to not be feeling well. She did not get up from her seat when she was asked to say something. Perhaps she should withdraw. Just a thought. It’s painful to watch her deteriorate right before our eyes.

Duterte says – we have to talk (with the Moros) to correct the injustice.

My take – oh, pleeeeaaase, the BBL was a product of 20 yeas of talking with the MILF. And yet Senator Bongbong Marcos blocked it.

LAST WORDS

Duterte – We are just mgirants to Mindanao. Ang pangakoko sa yo ito – Iwill supress drugs to the minimum. Criminality.

If Im in the presidency for two weeks, at wala sa akinmasusunod.

Pag sinabi kong huminto kayo, huminto kayo. I have one wrod for all of government in the Philippines. Stop. S-T-O-P. Just obey the la.

Sabinila may extra-judicial killing – i iwll sto corruption, kumng maari lang maubos ko, I will be harsh. I am warning you in the horizon the coming of terrorism.

Sabi nga ni Sison, if I’m president he will come to talk.

Pagsinabikong huminto, huminto ka ydayn, even at the expense of sometimes, it could be at the expense of honor, the presidency.

yan tanim tanim ng bala huminto ka diyan, unless you are ready t swallow the bullet. And I will do it.

I am a very impatient man.

I never felt any greatness.

hagggang high school 75 lang .

Miriam – I am what I am now. We are looking for the presient of the Philippines. There are three qualifications, academic qualification. I am a valedictorian. Professional excellence – I was given a Ramon Magsaysay award. Third, moral excellence,

She said – I am now normal. I can think and I can act and I can pray.

I will never quit, I will never stop. Iwill never withdraw.

God, preserve this country and begin with me.

My question – she wants God to preserve her?

Binay – ang importante – does the president have a track record. Says no one can top Binay in terms of experience. He said all charges against him are mere allegations (bintang).

Roxas – thanks various sectors. This is not who we are as a people. We are warm, we are generous. we are loving….Every Filipino deserve more.

Roxas seems to have found his slogan – “The best is yet to come.”

Grace Poe – You are the reason I am here. I have faced so many challenges.

Good approach to point to an actual person – Jessa – whose problem she hopes to address.

But opens herself to criticism when she tries to defend her “newness” by saying there is nothing wrong with being new and mentions “bagong bayan”, which is what she achieved by converting back to Philippine citizenship.

For the FISHERMEN of ‘Pinas – – – can not do much. A bit late or too late. China’s GUN BOATS are already there to STOP any FISHING.

Note: Even USA and its mighty Navy couldni’t do anything like what Pres. J. Kennedy did. . . Naval Blockade of CUBA on those Soviet missiles etc., Not fishing. But China at S. China Sea/West Phil. Sea have built military installations and of course their OWN CHINESE FISHING on our waters.

    Note: the Meyor says he’ll confront Chinese gun boats! ? y a b a n g . . . ! He’ll NEGOTIATE alright with China.

Mr. Roxas’ answer on this ‘fishermen’ problem was credible. Du30’s was incredible! He’ll be a HOSTAGE by the Chinese PLA Navy. Why not send the Chief of the Phil. Navy instead?

I don’t know why but I TRUST MY LIFE WITH LENI FIRST AND THEN ROXAS.
I wish they are the long awaited Bat girl and Super-Mario of the Pinoys.

Quo vadis, Filipinas? You may ask not only the country but the world.

I would like to encourage everyone together with the candidates esp. the winners above , yes, to watch the movie in 2009 “The Box’. It is said to have been made close to the truth of our situation now.

      WOULD YOU PUSH THE BUTTON?
“If human beings are unwilling or unable to sacrifice individual desires for the greater good of your species, you have no chance for survival.”

It is a strange movie that you have to think what it wants to say to the public.
It is a test for mankind and we are being tested as of now.
We are headed for extinction /and or thrown back to stone age, war and misery in that order., solar flares happens.

Struggles and hardship unite people but if leaders are true to their purpose that is to help people, they can assist the overall consciousness to peace.

Peace doesn’t necessarily mean material wealth but in kind.
I will post the moral of the story soon if some are interested.

Remember, it is some kind of test.

Unite for Leni Robredo because in that fight, it is clearly between good and evil, progress or a slide back, justice vs injustice.

The SWS surveys conducted in March 30-April 2 and April 18-20 showed a very significant movement,

Duterte, from 27 went up to 33% or 6% change. Binay, from 20 down to 14% or 6% drop.

Leni, from 17.8 went up to 26% or 9.2% change.

To all readers of Raissa’s blog.

Let us vote for a presidential bet of our choice and stick to our principles. I stick with Duterte, Victin with Poe, Johnny with anybody but Binay, Raissa with somebody, Yvonne with Poe after renunciation by Neil of US citizenship, Leona/BFD/AM with Roxas, ETC. But I urge everyone and his or her family and relatives including their friends to campaign for Leni Robredo. We need this time to unite and ensure the win of Leni. Let not our animosities engendered by our differing choice of president hinder our campaign for Leni.

hwag iboto si duterte. waste of time lang ang dickhead na yan.

vote for mar roxas instead, mapag-isip siya at mapagkatiwalaan, hindi barumbado gaya ni duterte.

tama si parekoy, leni is well loved and well taken care of. she will be voted in together with mar roxas. she will be vice president and working what is best for the country.

with duterte, gagawing baby sitter lang si leni, standing at the side and told to shut up, a spare tire and not given significant role. duterte’s supporters will take all the best jobs. sabi, gagawin daw nilang de facto presidente si leni, yeah right. only after duterte has been in office for 6yrs, saka na si leni gagawing presidente. by then, time for presidential election where leni can run as president.

with mar roxas as president, he may campaign for leni as next president sa 2022, using liberal party machinery. with duterte, pagod lang ang makukuha ni leni.

News article: Imelda: My son will make PH great
    http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/781473/imelda-my-son-will-make-ph-great

    Excerpt:
Speaking before a crowd of 1,500 at the Remedios Trinidad Romualdez gymnasium in downtown Tacloban, the former first lady said the Solid North of the Ilocano-speaking region and the Warays of Eastern Visayas “should unite so that OUR NATION WILL BE GREAT AGAIN.” (Boldface underscoring provided.)

Having lived through martial law, I almost suffered a heart attack on reading the above. I think I have to visit my doctor tomorrow!

It’s a repeat of what her husband, Ferdinand Marcos, Sr. has said during his 1965 inauguration:
“This nation can be great again. This I have said over and over. It is my article of faith, and Divine Providence has willed that you and I can now translate this faith into deeds.”
    http://www.gov.ph/1965/12/30/inaugural-address-of-president-marcos-december-30-1965/

After Marcos, Sr. said “This nation can be great again.” in 1965, he went on to re-arrange the political landscape of the country in order to plunder it, indulge his narcissism and build a dynasty.

Do the Marcoses think that the bulk of the Filipino nation, including, perhaps, a big chunk of the intelligentsia who are not necessarily Ilocanos nor Warays, are idiots and dumb enough to believe them?

I feel insulted by what Imelda has just said!

That “someone on Twitter” should visit:
    http://news.abs-cbn.com/botomo/05/13/09/profile-manuel-mar-ii-araneta-roxas

Although he belongs from an elite family as compared to his four rivals, Mar Roxas has been in the gov’t service for more than 25 years as a Congressman, Senator, DTI secretary, DOTC secretary, DILG secretary.

Among his four rivals, Mar Roxas stands out to be the most widely experienced as far as running a government of, by and for 100+ million Filipinos. He is the only presidential candidate who has the “big picture” perspective of how that government and, in tandem with Leni Robredo from the ‘laylayan’ (grassroots) level, can act to answer the crying needs of millions of dirt poor Filipino.

And despite his long gov’t service, Mar hasn’t never been accused of any wrongdoing in terms of stealing gov’t money (corruption).

Let’s go for the “‘apoy sa itaas’ and ‘apoy sa ibaba'” to cook the ‘bibingka’ approach in running the national gov’t team: RO-RO

It would be Duterte by a landslide. Rape remark or not. I had a full tank on my car the other day. While on que, somebody made singit. After the ungas had left I asked the gasoline why they allow singit. He said ganyan talaga Filipino. Kailangan natin si Duterte.

Yesterday, I had a haircut. The barber whom I met for the first time asked me my presidential choice. I answered Duterte. He volunteered to say that all of the 12 barbers in there including the attendants are for Duterte and started justifying why.

Roxas is a good man but would definitely lose. The LP machinery could not make him win because LP does not have a monopoly to cheating. In chess one should know when to quit to avoid further mental drain. In poker one should learn when to out himself to keep his remaining chips. A possible triple ten could not possibly trash a sure triple jack. Especially if one is facing the big blind.

Everybody must now focus on helping Leni. There is a big chance for Leni to win over Bongbong. The latest SWS survey says so.

i told my friends, sabihin nyo kung sino iboboto nyo. para pag nanalo yan at umatras ang pagasensong nakamit natin for the last year, umamin kayo na kasalanan nyo yan. pero i doubt it. ngayon pa lang, kuntodo justification sila sa mga kamalian na ginagawa ng kandidato nila. tsk tsk

No Winner: President debate rated F-

    Duterte mouth not Foamy dirty
    Binay’s credibility remained Fractured
Miriam was not in her usual Fighting Form
Poe was not Feisty enough to make a difference
Roxas words were Fruity to be considered.

Duterte not because he spoke sewer language but but due to lack of punches from his opponents
Roxas- was most eloquent and prepared but that was expected since he was most experienced. Subpar performance would be his downfall resulting to retaining his status quo.
Poe- No surprising extraordinary revelations on her capabilities due to being too cautious on her approach. Her awkward stance to snare Duterte speaking foul by dangling the “Women” bait was unsuccessful.
Binay was a broken record telling Roxas he is not the “court” making judgment
Defensor is suffering from eternal egomaniacism for trying to show she is not ill but in reality it’s very obvious she is near her sunset.

Race has become 3 horses in the homestretch.
Roxas streaking fast in the outside lane. Duterte and Poe striding around the railings. Duterte will clobber his opponents in Mindanao with a wide margin. Roxas will carry Visayas against his opponents with a narrow margin. Luzon will be split 4 ways with Roxas in the bottom unless class ABC voters will realize before entering precinct booth that although they agree with the agenda of Duterte on fighting criminality, that in the end the nice guy Roxas should be their horse; if not Duterte will win.
NCR MetroManila are anti establishments. They are anti PNoy therefore anti Roxas. The so called elite are split 3 ways between Poe, Duterte and Binay. Women and D class are for Poe. Duterte cornered those fear onagers rating criminality and Traffic as their primary reason to vote anti PNoy/Roxas in favor of Duterte. Binay will capture corrupt govt employees and politicians families residing in MetroManila. If Poe overtakes Duterte among ABC group in NCR and winning by large margins in Cavite and Pangasinan, she will win the election.

OFW votes are crucial for Roxas, if divided, the race is between Poe and Duterte.
I spotted @Rene Ipil already buying expensive Havana cigars, @VictinLuz was hanging outside Landmark Liquor store still contemplating if it’s champagne to celebrate or Gin to drown. @Leona is preparing food to celebrate, win or lose for RORO because it’s all about the spirit and principles. Anyway, whoever is the winner the Losers remain the same, the Filipinos, because as usual all the promises will be pushed again to the back remaining stagnant till………..

    Next Election please!

As I said, there are those who might choose Duterte when responding to survey but in my extrapolation many of these people were intentionally throwing screw balls on the survey. Plus the fact that there are so many sitting on the fence(undecided). At this stage so many undecided is quite unusual. Compound that, suddenly DU30 is leaping with his numbers so fast while he was shooting himself in the mouth without effect on his preference. Filipinos especially women are not that callous not to react with his absurd character. These numbers don’t match with reality, something fishy. Kind of “school of fish” that might transport Roxas or Poe to winning column.

Deja Vu? 2013, all surveys put Poe in 4-6 senatorial ranking spot, not even top 2 and when the votes were counted everyone including heads of SWS and Pulse were astonished on her number of votes. To Roxas supporters, Cross fingers that the magic wand favors Roxas instead of Poe.

Remember what the great politician, US House of Rep Speaker Tip O’Neille from Boston said: “in politics everything is local which is bad news for Roxas because media kept on reporting lately that local butterflies started flying towards Poe garden, from Albay to Antique.

I watched the debate on TV. For me, just like @parekoy I would say Mar Roxas is the overall winner. I felt some honesty and truthfulness in his answers. Also, I saw a respectable President in him not only in the Philippines but also in the international stage. I found him intelligent, and I saw from the way he behaves and talks that he is a respectable and honest man. I hope he will win the election.

In all these years you’ve been shaped by your elitist background, don’t you think your path is to narrow for you to be president of the Phillipines.

    Santiago asked Roxas.

    And Roxas answered her superbly!

As Batman said, it is not important how you came into this world. What is important is what you did with your life and my life over the past 20 years years has been a public record!

You have been  a witness to many elements of my life as we worked together as senators,

    -Fighting for cheaper medicines

-Fighting banks and insurance companies for pre-need  protection for our  people

    – Fighting for economic opportunity through the JEPPA and other economic treaties

    And

-Fighting for what is good and what is Right!

    ***

Seems Santiago is also propping Roxas with this strategically posed hard question, but to a prepared Roxas it was a ‘gimme’ – a soft ball ready to be hit outside the ballpark-

    S T R I K E !  for R O X A S !
