(RAH/ES)

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted that she had discussions with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte regarding the fate of the country of origin on death row in Indonesia, namely Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso. But President reluctant to express the results of these discussions.

“I have to say about Mary Jane and I told him that Mary Jane was carrying 2.6 kilograms of heroin,” the president said Jokowi told reporters after conducting Eid prayers at the Great Mosque At Tsauroh, Serang, Banten, on Monday (12/9) morning.

In a meeting with President Duterte at the State Palace, Jakarta, last week, President Jokowi admitted he had been told about the delay in the execution of Mary Jane, last May. But President Duterte even invited GOI Indonesia to execute.

“President Duterte then convey please if you want to be executed,” said the President.

As to the legal process that is being conducted in the Philippines, President Jokowi said later that the Attorney General will follow that process.

Mary Jane was arrested at Adisutjipto Airport, Yogyakarta, in April 2010 because it was caught carrying 2.6 kg of heroin. Furthermore, in October 2010 he was sentenced to death by the Panel of Judges of the District Court of Sleman, Yogyakarta. (RAH / ES)

    DOES YOUR PRESIDENT HAVE SOUL?

The recent witness in the Senate nquiry on extrajudcial killing
was quite a revelation. Not so much whether it is true but the fact that it was made at all
under the present circumstance is really something to ponder on.

When President Widodo announced that Du30 met him in effect not to plead for
Mary Veloso;s life but to follow their laws tells much about how Du30
    regards human life.

The state of the Philippines as defined and made real by Du30 somehow

The west think duterte is a talking disaster.
They do not like his character, attitude, do not trust him, and consider that he is an economic ignoramus.
They also consider that he is naive and ungrateful, with a narrow worldview. An isolationist.

Excerpt from Barrons – US equivalent of the economist – 10 sept 2016.

“I am noticing a pattern in Manila this week, a place I’ve visited regularly since 1995. When I ask
government officials, businesspeople, investors or average citizens how they feel about the increasing body count (more than 2,400 so far), they stop and look around to see who’s
within earshot before speaking. Gone, I fear, are the days when many Filipinos believed they
could speak out about what Michael Toledo of Philex Mining Corporation, calls “the elephant
in the room” – or speak truth to power.
This chilling effect on public discourse could be a harbinger of trouble to come. Duterte’s unhinged, Donald Trump-like tirade has investors thinking twice about the Philippine growth story.
And what a great story it was on June 29, the day before he was sworn in. In his six years in
office, Aquino increased tax receipts, cut red tape, increased transparency and won the
former “Sick Man of Asia” its first investment-grade ratings. After just over two months, one wonders if Duterte is building a reputation as the “Frightening Man of Asia.”
He’s lambasted the Pope, threatened to leave the United Nations and pledged to combat
China’s territorial land grabs on a jet ski. Now, he’s imperiled a vital alliance with Washington.
Duterte’s exploits smack more of the bad old authoritarian ways that led the Philippines astray – stifling business and investment – than capable leadership. He’s done himself no favors, frankly, by proposing to give the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos a hero’s burial. Such a bizarre and counterproductive use of political capital raises troubling questions about this government’s priorities in moving forward rather than back to the strongman chaos of the
      1970s and 1980s”

SUMMARY: Allegations of confessed ‘DDS’ member in Senate hearing
    By: Yuji Vincent Gonzales
    @YGonzalesINQ
    INQUIRER net
    01:39 PM September 15th, 2016

A witness who claimed to be a member of the Davao Death Squad, the notorious vigilante group allegedly behind the killings in the President’s hometown, appeared before the Senate on Thursday and made explosive accusations against President Rodrigo Duterte on alleged orders to kill more than 1,000 individuals when he was still mayor.

READ: ‘DDS’ member bares alleged Duterte-ordered killings

Here’s a summary of the allegations of 57-year-old Edgar Matobato, who said he was hired by Duterte as one of the “Lambado Boys” in 1988, which eventually evolved into the infamous DDS:

-Matobato said he was a “ghost employee” at the Davao City Hall for 24 years as part of the Civil Security Unit, whose job was only to kill criminals.

-Matobato said Duterte ordered to ambush Sen. Leila de Lima.

-Matobato said Duterte ordered to kill Muslims suspected in the 1993 bombing of the Davao cathedral. Matobato said he himself threw a grenade in a mosque, abducted Muslim suspects, and killed and buried them in the Laud quarry.

-Matobato said he and five others kidnapped suspected terrorist Sali Makdum in Samal in 2002 by hanging him and chopping his body.

-Matobato said Duterte’s son and Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo ordered to kill a man who overtook the latter’s vehicle in a traffic altercation

-The witness, who said he had worked with Davao police for 34 years, claimed that part of the cops’ modus was to plant guns on the crime scene. “Ang pulis laging may reserba na baril para ‘pag may mapatay, lalagyan (The police always had a reserved gun so that when a person is killed, the gun can be planted),” he said.

-In 2013, Matobato said Duterte ordered the killing of a fixer at the Land Transportation Office, whose body, he said, was dumped in San Rafael village in 2013

-Matobato said they abducted three women from their house in 2013 and dumped their bodies on a road in San Rafael village.

-On the orders of five mayors including Duterte, Matobato said they killed a member of a religious group named Jun Barsabal, who he said was killed because “he was squatting on lands.” Barsabal’s body, he said, was buried at Ma-A quarry.

-Matobato said Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte ordered the killing of billionaire hotelier Richard King in 2014 over a certain “Ochoa,” a woman they were both pursuing. He said rebel returnees Joel Tapales and Loloy Gabas were given P500,000 for King’s assassination.

-Matobato said they killed more than a thousand individuals from 1988 to 2013.

-Matobato said Duterte ordered the killing of radio broadcaster Jun Pala, a vocal critic of the longtime mayor.

-The alleged DDS member said Duterte also ordered the killing of a dance instructor, supposed boyfriend of Duterte’s sister Jocelyn, who was abducted in Jacinto street. Matobato said he and six others handcuffed the instructor and killed him at the Ma-A quarry.

-Matobato said he worked with National Bureau of Investigation director Dante Gierran for 15 years and tagged him in an operation in 2007, the target of which, he said, was fed to a crocodile.

-Matobato said a certain NBI agent named Jamisola was killed by Duterte some time in 2007. He said an altercation figured between a certain Col. Pabo and Jamisola, whose vehicle was blocking the way. Matobato said Duterte arrived at the scene and killed the agent himself.

-The witness said rebel returnees were responsible for the killing of those involved in gang wars by shooting them at close range.

-Matobato said a property in Gaisano was the extension of the Ma-A quarry, where a certain “Commander Toothpick” buried the bodies of victims. He added that they also dumped bodies at the Island Garden City of Samal.

-Matobato said he left the government’s Witness Protection Program after Duterte won the presidency.

-The witness claimed that Paolo Duterte, whom he said they had been escorting since the vice mayor was a child, had long been using drugs. JE

        Like father, like son

“Paolo Duterte has ordered for people to get killed. They are like sadists,” said Matobato, drawing a deep breath as he spoke.

“He has ordered so many killings. Ganyan yon parang sabog (He is like that, like he’s high). He goes to our office and orders us to kill people,” he added.

“Parang manok ang tao sa Davao City. Pinapatay nang walang dahilan (People are treated like chickens in Davao City. They are killed for no reason),” Matobato said.

Sana someone up there will intervene soon bago maging under martial law na naman bansa natin.

Mistaken Identity, run-in, collateral or ‘fall from grace’
Climatization (conditioning) is what many are fearing, ‘feeling’ already.

Ang tanong, bakit pinahintulutan ng Maykapal na manungkulang bilang pangulo si DU30?

What is overlooked insofar as graft & corruption, illegal drugs trade and abuse – it has been there since time immemorial. DU30, IMO, has used it to ‘capitalize’ for his political platform to win using his radical rhetorics. It struck a ‘connection’, a chord with a lot of Filipinos because, IMO, – despondency. 16M + were deceived and smitten by his radical gospel.

Kung talagang matalino at mahusay? How can one manage the scourge, deal squarely and control it? While man is detached from God, it is impossible to completely and totally eradicate them.

Halimbawa, when you are sick, you go to a doctor. Do you expect a healing? A medical doctor is there to provide his solution, prescription & advice on how to MANAGE your illness & PROVIDE treatment based on his educated opinion. IMO, they are not healers per se, rather practitioners in the field of ailments, for medical treatments and health management (school thought).

          That’s just my 2 cents.

and now that the 16 millions know what digong is really like, truly like, what are they going to do about it? 5millions will probly be like cayetano at mangangahoy rin. the others like vice ganda and robin padilla who are so enamored of digong have yet to make their conscientious voices heard, pro or against, that is the question.

in the meantime, fans of both vice ganda and robin padilla had better do some thinking, punish both celebs by refusing to give them the ratings. made them accountable for what they had helped create, a monster president. for a start, fans can stop seeing the shows of both vice ganda and robin padilla. they are so rich enough already, no need to make them richer still.

The allegations of matobato will remain allegations/hearsay unless supported by prima facie evidence that would establish probable cause/substance for possible impeachment of PDu30.

Sen. Leila is now obligated to gather witnesses/evidence to corroborate her lonesome ace card Matobato’s bombshell

In contrast, the forthcoming house probe on De Lima’s bilibid drug connections is reported to be corroborated by an array of Justice officials, NBI agents, inmates, jail guards, incarcerated drug lords, etc.

We are indeed lucky to be entertained by the action-drama-sex true-to-life spectacles similar to the movie “Gladiators”

Now that De Lima’s senate inquiry has unexpectedly exploded a bombshell from an unknown witness who testified under oath of the involvement of his son Paolo to the Davao death squad, among many, expect Digong to blow his tops into high heavens and fast-tract court actions against De Lima for adultery, drug trafficking, etc and possibly a re-showing of her XX-rated sex scandals

DUTERTE’S DRUG WAR IS A JOKE
INTENDED ONLY FOR THE POOR AND THE WEAK

Duterte missed a rare opportunity to show his humane side, if he has one, or to soften his rough edges that have resulted in many controversies and embarrassment for the country.

It is not unusual for heads of state to give special accommodation to a newly elected President, specially a first timer like Duterte, as an initiation of gesture of friendship and diplomacy among them heads of state.

I think that had Duterte lobbied Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo for the setting aside of the death penalty meted on Mary Jane Veloso, or for granting her a reduction of sentence if not outright presidential pardon, there could be a strong chance that Veloso could avoid getting executed.

But Duterte showed his liking for killings and thirst for blood for his failure, if not refusal, to lobby to save the life of Mary Jane. His inaction carries the message that it does not matter if a person no longer posed a threat to society – as long he got involved in drugs, wittingly or unwittingly, he must be killed.

But the irony in Duterte’s “drug war” is that only the poor, the weak, and the politically unconnected get killed. Ever wondered what happened to the three powerful drug lords incarcerated at NBP? What about the influential Peter Lim? And how about the five well-placed PNP generals accused of being major drug dealers? Whatever happened to the rich, the powerful, and the politically connected?

Yes, in Duterte’s drug war only the poor and the weak get killed – and yet they even haven’t been found guilty of drug involvement in a court of law. In a sense, Mary Jane is lucky because she has had her day in court – thousands of Filipinos did not.
