Read or download this excerpt from Chapter 1 of Marcos Martial: Never Again book
By Raïssa Robles
With the sudden heightened interest on Martial Law, let me share with you excerpts from Chapter One of our Marcos Martial Law: Never Again book. This book is actually a study of a “benevolent” dictatorship.
When he imposed Martial Law, Marcos promised to reduce poverty, bring peace, security, development and progress to the nation. What happened was the exact opposite, as this book details.
Chapter 1 narrates how Marcos made extensive preparations to impose military rule and how he actually carried it out. The chapter is based, among others, on Marcos’ own diaries (which he accidentally left behind in Malacañang Palace), on face-to-face interviews with military officers who took part in the imposition, on recently declassified papers from the United States including the Nixon papers and dispatches to and from the US Embassy in Manila.
My deep appreciation to my publisher, Filipinos for a Better Philippines, for allowing me to share this with you.
You can either read the Chapter extract online or download it and share it with your friends and relatives. The extract comes from the Collectors Edition.

Gordon resumes hearing with Matobato confounding the senators because he refused a lawyer to sit with him”
Matobato testified before with DeLima as chairman was accused by Senators that he was by coached by De Lima and lawyers.
Now that he is refusing a lawyer to assist him Gordon and Cayetano would not proceed with hearing brcause they want a lawyer to coach him for he might implicate himself.

From narration, Edgar Mabobato was a victim who vowed to become a Punisher to seek justice. At the latter part of his DDS history, he was enlightened. Tax Court defers ruling on liens vs Pacquiao properties
Tax lien on the properties of Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao and wife Jinkee stays.
This after the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) has put on hold the resolution on Pacquiao’s bid to lift the tax liens until the termination of preliminary hearing on the main case.
READ: Tax Court to resolve motion on liens vs Pacquiao properties
“The petitioner’s motion to lift notices of tax lien annotated on properties registered in the name of petitioners is held in abeyance until the termination of preliminary hearing,” the Tax Court said on Thursday.
A tax lien attaches for as long as the deficiency taxes as well as the interest and surcharges have not been paid. The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) issues a notice of tax lien to protect the interest of the government as stated under the Tax Code.
According to the BIR, the senator’s tax liability is P2.26 billion but it went up to P3.29 billion due to surcharges and penalties.

From record of the history of FM he was already planning/preparing ML. Now, Pres. Du30 says he does not want to declare ML.
Is there or are there presidents who wants this power – Martial Law?
Next revision/change of Consti., remove this ML power – many inclu me – suggests!
With or without ML, we cannot stop foreign invasion. For rebellion, public disorder, etc., Congress CAN grant powers as need arises.
Lesser of two evils is better than 1 horrible evil in place.

Can Martial Law solve the illegal drug problem in 6 months? How about an extension of another 6 months?
20 Years of Martial Law under FM. . . all national problems unsolved but instead created bigger problems. You and I know what they are/were.
Martial Law power is a corrupt power. I really am now realizing why this corrupt power was inserted into our fundamental law of the land. It should not be used. Never!
The odds of using such Martial Law power is more abuses of gov’t and even citizens will increase.
Marami na panganak dahil sa abuso. Proof? Eh. . . ilan na tayo? 110 million na in a span of a few decades.
At FM’s ML, we were not even 60 million. 20 years passed. Another 25 years passed. In 3 plus decades we pooped out into 110 million! ABUSO!

ABUSO. The more Martial Law the more ABUSO. In 6 months under ML plus extension of another 6 months, our poops outs will be 200 million in 1-2 years!
Ang madilim sa gabi under ML creates extra-curri ABUSO for many Class D and E families.

I have said from the outset that the philippines does not have a drug crisis, just a drug problem, and that it is being used to justify policy/actions – the false reality/big lie principle – exactly as duterte’s bff widodo did in indonesia to justify the death penalty:
http://theconversation.com/indonesia-uses-faulty-stats-on-drug-crisis-to-justify-death-penalty-36512
So far the drugs problem – which is only 300,000 addicts, – and sits low in the international rankings of drug usage, – as opposed to casual users – has been the excuse for ‘state of lawlessness’, an “invasion” meriting martial law according to panelo, the delay of sk/barangay polls, a new type ‘police force’ being proposed, and the reason for lowering the age of criminality and proposing the death penalty, by hanging of course.
No wonder duterte, after talking/ranting non-stop about the issue says he realises it is much worse than he thought! There is so much political mileage in it, just as widodo discovered, and duterte will milk it for as long as he can, especially since no-one questions him. No surprise that he wants experts to stay away. They know he is bullshitting, and can see exactly what he is doing/planning.
Meanwhile del rosa says 90% of supplies have been stopped, so no drug problem.
Drugs are now duterte’s carte blanche to do anything following the daily brainwashing.
But not a word about the 3 million undernourished children, the 15 million un/underemployed, or the 5 million plus, forced to leave their families and become OFW’s. None of those are a vehicle/excuse for greater military control.
The only drug problem duterte has is with his son. The rest is wildly exaggerated to set the stage and create the structure for things to come.

“UNDER MODERATION”
http://computer.howstuffworks.com/internet-censorship.htm
Do you ever wonder why “under moderation” has been more prevalent now than before – Yvonne, Johnny Lin, me, etc.
The only reason I can think of to explain this is the Internet censorship and filters system. (See attached link.) The words that we use fall into their filter category and are catching their attention”…thus they have to read, filter and release, if they deemed appropriate, eventually.
Well, at least, if my hunch is right, we know that our messages are being read by some audience who need to read them.
Duterte has earmarked gazillion of funds for his “Intel fund” so he can easily afford the necessary software. I won’t be surprised too if some funds will be deposited in Pasig.
Is it pure paranoia for me to think this way? Learned from a hacker too, that if we consistently get their attention, we land in their radar system, I was strongly advised to cover the camera lens of my IPAD and my laptop. I’m still thinking about that.

If we get paid for every lies that this government feeds the public, we will be rich. Can you guess why he has to play Digong-Digong to make Misuari smell good and look like a hero?
While Digong strongly professes his dislike for Martial Law, from the way he uses propaganda to the max, we know that he has adopted a well-oiled ML propaganda tactic machinery. The only thing is, times have changed and while it worked during the Marcos era, it ain’t working now, eh. Thanks to social media. Our voices will be heard far and wide.
It is very unfortunate that people were held hostage and more unfortunate that ISIS and Abus are growing like weeds. Very alarming. I wouldn’t like to think that some non-Abus people profited from it. ANd Duterte has to deal with stronger Insurgency. MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, tumataginting!
Would Duterte’s resolve and tactic to fight Abus change if we Put DeLima’s photo in the field. He is fixated on DeLima.
Obviously, truth telling is not one of our government’s virtue.

A replay of martial law, in all but name, is a near certainty. Duterte cannot operate in any other way. Discussion, negotiation, compromise, tolerance, individuality, criticism, are simply not in his vocabulary, or style of leadership, and an old dog does not learn new tricks, but only sticks to what it knows, which in duterte’s case is anger, hatred, and killing – not CEO material.
The framework and structure is nearly in place, and then a trigger event will be applied/manufactured, whether a bomb, a fictitious coup, or terror threats, to initiate the denouement. All achieved with remarkable ease and no real opposition, using the tried and tested techniques of dictators and cult leaders since time immemorial.
The template for dictators:
high on emotion, low on facts
Strong on rhetoric, weak on debate
Long on promises, short on delivery
– Exaggerate the situation – The doomsday scenario/the fake reality/the big lie
– target an enemy to incite emotion
– Paint an alternative utopian dream
– Be the messiah to solve all problems – omnipotent
– unify and incite/empower followers – ‘us vs them’
– Isolate from outside influences – nationalism
– suppress criticism/eliminate critics – ‘traitors’
– organise/structure enforcers – local ground force
– extend powers and reach – conformity
– intimidate and/or exterminate – silence through fear
– formalise and legalise – new constitution
– reality sets in – opposition increases – division, disintegration, & dysfunction.
“Every dictator craves obedience from men, not their agreement. He wants them to surrender their consciousness to his assertions, his edicts, his wishes, his whims. He wants to deal with men by means of force, not debate — he finds no satisfaction in their consent if he must earn it by means of facts and reason. Reason and intellect is the enemy he dreads; His drive is to command, not to convince.”

Pros and Cons
Whenever there are situations that have national significance like the War on Drugs, Bilibid as Headquarters of Drug Operations, Davao Death Squad, Senate Investigations on Extrajudicial Killings, House Investigations on De Lima’s complicity in Drug Trade, Burial of Marcos in the LNMB, Creeping Martial Law, Virtual Dictatorship, etc, we need to weigh the Pros and Cons of the aftermath of the investigations or analyses.
On Matobato’s convincing testimony about the Davao Death Squad and its liquidation activities with the full sanction and headed by DU30, the nation is educated and confirmed that indeed DDS is not a myth but a monster which made a lot of Davao personalities, criminal and innocents disappeared just to for DU30 to have absolute control of his city. Matobato might be a ‘Tirador’ a hitman but he is no liar. Matobato is a Pro-fessional Killer in DDS but never a Con.
With Matobato’s revelations, DU30 and cohorts panicked and immediately wanted to contain the damage which led to Dumb Fac knocking out D5. Replacing and reorganizing chairmanships are political realities and we should not be surprised for it is really that dirty! We have the OLD LIMP DICK as the new head of the Committee of Justice and Human Rights. With the help of the SHIT 16, the hypocrisy of LP Senators, and the false Minority, OLD LIMP DICK just made this Committee impotent!
Drilon, Pangilinan, Hontiveros and Bam Aquino as well as De Lima should bolt the supermajority of the Senate and should join the false minority headed by Recto. How could they stay in the supermajority when they are supposed to check DU30’s excessive abuse of power? There is an old saying that, You can’t have your cake and eat it too! For this stance, these five Senators are Pros- meaning professional hypocrites!
Then there is the sequel of the Senate Circus and the show is going on in the House of Representathieves. The setting is like a B-rated movie with bad actors and ugly ones which at least compensate for their roles as villains. The House Moro-moro is headed by a non-muslim Rey Umali, an LP and a Pro-fessional balimbing. DU30’s hitman is Justice Sec Aguirre, whose main role is to dispense injustice to those who oppose DU30. Aguirre though is a born comedian. He has a face of a comedian and even fits to the Filipino common belief that ‘kalbo’ comedians are funnier. Aguirre upped the ante by wearing a “Peluka” that made him an instant comic without even delivering any punch lines! Then there are the Cons…nope I was not talking about the Congressmen, I am talking about the hardworking Cons of the Bilibid whose resourcefulness and innate genius in making money inside the Prison is one for the books of the history of Cons! We have Herbert Colanggo, the out of tune singing Con; Magleo the Kidnapper Con; Rafael Ragos and Jovencio Ablen Jr., the Fear to Disappear Cons, and some more ‘Peluka’ or Small Wigs witnesses Cons!
Umali’s Committee is being used as La Loma’s Lechon Spit. The bamboo pointed pole is being larded so as to poke D5’s butt and inserted and exit thru her mouth to stop her completely from talking against DU30! The order from Malacañang is to roast D5 or else their fat butts are next!
It is quite obvious that DU30 will not be able to deliver his campaign promise of getting rid of the drug menace within 3 to 6 months. It is apparent that his prescription is just taken from his Davao City Experiment and now applied in the National Scale. DU30’s solution to eradicate the Drug Menace is to replace it with the Authoritarian Menace. For trying to solve a major problem, he replaced it with a Monster Problem!
With DU30 at the helm, he Con-solidated all the powers and made the House of Representathieves and Senate his partners in extrajudicial killing of Democracy! With DU30 at the helm, he Con-solidated all criminal activities be under his command!
We are just waiting for the official Coronation of Emperor DU30!

Reality is that D5 received campaign contributions from the Bilibid personalities! Sotto, Recto, Lacson, and almost all Senatorial winnable candidates received campaign contributions from Druglords, crime lords, Jueteng Lords, and personalities of dubious background!
It just so happened that D5 is vocal and an old adversary of DU30, and the initiator of the opening again of the DDS with Matobato’s convincing testimony of its existence and their EJK activities, which really confirmed what DU30 admitted implicitly through his ‘Papatayin ko sila’ and boastful about the killings attributed to him for the past 20 years!
D5 is no saint and not moneyed. She needed the campaign funds and all funds are accepted whether they come from dubious sources or legit ones. Even DU30 believes that D5 is not involved in the Drug Trade but D5 benefitted from some contributions from them.
Aguirre’s tactic is to exaggerate D5’s involvement eventhough D5 has none but only as recipient of small amount coming from te Bilibid Boys. Sotto have been receiving a hundred times than D5 and Sotto is actively protecting the Druglords.
DU30 knows that Singson is one of the Druglords but Singson is too strong and could make DU30’s life miserable that is why Singson is untouchable! DU30’s strategy is to kill the weak ones, the petty criminals and exaggerate his claims of accomplishments with the blood of the poor as sacrifice and trophy!
D5’s weakness is her loin! DU30 and Aguirre know how to exploit her weakness. Dayan is one of D5’s lovers and her bagman too. D5 was careless for she did not separate her love affair with her profession!
With D5’s imperfections, she is not really a protector of druglords, she just happened to receive contributions from them out of necessity especially for a candidate who is not moneyed and rely on campaign contributions to be able to fund her quest for a Senate seat. D5 did not disappoint the Filipinos for she is at the forefront of exposing DU
