Hi guys,

Finally, I can announce that I will have a book signing of Marcos Martial Law: Never Again  in National Book Store in Trinoma this Saturday, December 3.

I hope you can come because I persuaded the country’s foremost military historian, Dr. Ricardo T. Jose, to talk on the real “War Record” of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos. This will be during the program that will accompany the book signing. Dr. Jose, who is currently the executive director of the University of the Philippines Third World Studies Program, will share what he has found out in his research, using US and Japanese archives.

Do take a video of his talk and post it on Facebook.

During the short program, you will also get to see up close the most notorious torture device used during Marcos’ Martial Law – the military field telephone converted into an instrument for electrocution, which I wrote about in the book.

The program starts at 1 PM with a brief intro from my publisher, Filipinos for a Better Philippines; short speeches from me and Alan; then a Q and A.

I will be in NBS Trinoma starting at 11:30 A.M. to start signing books up to 12:45. Then I break for the program and resume signing afterward.

I hope to see you there.

Mismo yung US embassy official nagsabi noon.

For now, if you have any relative in PH, the publisher can deliver the Collectors Edition for free and the softbound edition with a delivery fee depending on where it is to be delivered.

    Raissa:

Do you know if Dr. Jose will be referring to any documents accessed/recovered/digitized/repatriated by Marie Silva Vallejo’s team from the Philippines Archives Collection at the US National Archives, in Maryland, summer of 2015?

Sayang, I can’t make it for the signing but I have a copy already.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist Then they came fof the Trade Unionists, and I did not out speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me— And there was no one left to speak for me. —Martin Niemöller (1892-1984)
