Before the Christmas rush and the traffic gridlock really gets going, I would like to wish you all a Blessed Christmas.
Let us pause from our sadness and think of happy thoughts just for a while.
When I think of Christmas, I always think of the massacre of the innocents afterward. Perhaps human life is really like that. There is always a time of peace and a time of violence.
But no matter what the time, it is our attitude that will help us cope. Music helps a lot in changing the mood and shaping attitude. So let me share with you today some of my favorite Christmas carols.
My late father-in-law Alfredo Robles, Sr., a jazz musician, introduced me to this particular Christmas album of Ryan Cayabyab. While listening, you’d think there was a choir singing. But in reality, Ryan is the only one singing. What he did was to sing the different voices and weave them all together.
Much like what the trolls do in Facebook and Twitter. They make you think they are a horde and many voices.
Anyway, that is just an aside.
Do enjoy Ryan’s album for now, especially those overseas and far from families. Let Ryan Cayabyab’s music bring you home, even for a while.
By the way, good news to those of you who are frantically looking for my book Marcos Martial Law: Never Again. Besides National Book Store in Trinoma, NBS Glorietta, Robinsons Ortigas and SM Megamall should have additional copies by Wednesday. To ensure you get one, pls. reserve your copies ahead of time.
I would like to thank all those who attended my book signing in NBS Trinoma. Sorry I wasn’t able to post the pictures at once due to deadlines. But I will post them this month.
