OPINION: New Year’s Resolutions From The Palace

Alan Robles – Hot Manila

Posted at Dec 30 2016 05:04 PM

A lavandera with strange powers was walking past one of Malacañang Palace’s gates when she was run down by a speeding backhoe. Brought to the hospital, she woke up after a few hours and started writing down the following New Year’s resolutions, claiming she had received them from a “mysterious source”:
1. Crush the drug problem
2. Change the Constitution
3. Stop swearing
4. God damn it, I’m serious
5. Calm down
6. Kiss a Marcos – Imee, Bongbong or Imelda?
7. Before kissing a Marcos, take fentanyl
8. Crush crime
9. Stop lying
10. Declare Martial Law
11. Crush smuggling
12. Stop talking about fentanyl
13. KEEL THEM ALL OBOSEN
14. Buy a jet ski

Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II is looking at the possibility of suspending a Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) official over a confidential memorandum that tagged him as extending special privileges to high-profile inmates detained at Camp Aguinaldo.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Aguirre said BuCor legal office chief Alvin Lim is under investigation after the document made its way to the press.

“Iniimbestigahan namin. Actually doon sa release ng confidential document you should not release it unless you’re authorized,” Aguirre said.

Asked if he has plans to suspend Lim, Aguirre said: “May plano ako. But we’ll give him due process.”

Dated December 9, 2016, Lim’s memorandum stated Aguirre had supposedly allowed several inmates from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) to use electronic gadgets and airconditioning units and gain access to the Internet. The inmates were previously transferred to the new detention center following their testimony tagging De Lima as part of the Bilibid drug trade

Sabi ni Aguirre ..he did not issue such memo. If this is true, then why consider it to be confidential and why even conduct an investigation?

    Buking na ba?

I think, alvin lim is allowed to release official document dahil he is official of bucor and has authority and discretionary power to release documents relating to his office.

      February 12, 2017 at 2:04 PM

      @Sam
if it is true that Lim was key to “outing” the confidential memo providing the perks to those convicts, he must be protected against any reprisal like what Aguirre is planning to do. A whistleblower policy must be in place to ensure that wrong doers will be exposed and that those who did the right thing to report the wrong doers will not suffer any reprisal.

President Duterte Is Repeating My Mistakes

he, he, he, for the mistakes committed, the ex pres of columbia has coca plant to comfort him, whereas digong has fentanyl and a slice of stinky durian!

weird, bato went to columbia and study how the columbians fought off the drug menace. and for digong to be following the footsteps of columbian ex pres, nah, digong could not be anyone’s minime. digong is minime of 16million voters. following china’s advice, russia’s advice, joma’s advice, jalandoni’s advice, etc. it’s complicated, confusing too.

I’m not fan of digong, but I say in all humility that digong is allowed to make his own mistakes. that’s how most humans learn: hit and miss. soon, digong will learn to disregard the misses and stick to the hits. ejk, so many killed, so many made homeless and without breadwinners, hopes fade. but all is not lost. digong can still save what need to be saved, compensate the bereaved and console them.

I think, digong should ditch the death penalty. there is life after death, anyone dying will live again. death as punishment will only lead to more corruption with rich people paying off judges to refrain from giving them death penalty. rich people rarely go to jail, they can afford to pay top lawyers who can talk their way in, experts in legalese that confuse people, and get their clients off the death penalty. it’s only poor people who cannot afford to pay top lawyers that got the death penalty. putting hopes on public defender? you might as well represent yourself, lest you tried your best. you’ll be lucky if public defender turns up at all!

though during noynoy’s reign we got to see mega-rich people like bong revilla, jinggoy, enrile, napoles, etc, got jailed for corruption.

I agree. Duterte is allowed to make mistakes. That is true. However, the problem is, he doesn’t think he is making mistakes. Meanwhile, he has inspired murders and created an environment of killing sprees, a culture of trigger happy individuals, scalawags–and citizens are being conditioned and manipulated to accept a benevolent dictator. He has boldly promised to rid the Philippines of drugs and corruption in six months or he will resign. The only thing he is doing now is fudging his numbers, making the issues more complex, bloating his stats, to make everything more dire than ever to justify why he cannot deliver his promises..and why he will not resign!

Compensate? That’s it? How would you feel if you were asked how much are you? You get p50k or something and you should disappear from this face of the earth?
To simply equate human lives with peso signs is so dehumanizing as Duterte robs us the Filipino people of our basic human rights, of due process–just because of his Machiavellian complex. Compensation is the least thing the government can do but there must be a review of the processes to minimize the loss of human lives and ensure that his process does not promote abuse. Rethink the strategy on the war on drugs.
You got my vote on death penalty. Our police and justice must be overhauled. No two ways about it. I gathered that there are so many vacancies at the DOJ office, while we have many unemployed/underemployed lawyers and university graduates.
These unsolved EJKs just make things worse.

Plunder law and propose bill Death is in manipulation scheme.

How many instances has or have private citizens committed the law on Plunder?

Who commits this crime most instances?

Why is it lawmakers took away in the including Plunder law to the proposed bill of death penalty?

We, the people, are being manipulated by our bad lawmakers.

They live for life while the poor poverty driven class have to die.

This is clear shit of selection application by corruption and injustices.

Sigue. . . tuloy nyo ang salamangka nyo.

To senators, if we cannot get it right at the lower hellouse, please vote NO on the proposed bill for death penalty. Or include all public officials.

This is no fun. . . earthquakes.

‘MANILA, Philippines – At least four people died and more than 80 others others were wounded, 13 seriously, when a 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck Surigao City late Friday, damaging the airport and knocking power in two towns, the provincial governor said.’

My RIP Amen to those who died and prayers for everyone in Surigao City.

REPENT! The end is near. . . and God is doing it His way.

surigao city is in state of calamity na. I hope the govt has enough money to rebuild surigao’s infrastructures, the broken buildings, the destroyed roads, the airport, etc. contingency money, not given to abu sayyaf in order to free the many hostages just so digong can look good in the eyes of the world.

the money spent on peace talks between the reds, npa and other forces that 1st started in norway, then nederland, then rome, palaki ng palaki ang gastos and what did we get out of it? more killings of our armed forces based in mindanao, the npa consultants that went abroad ay pabugso-bugso lang yata ang attendance sa peace talks dahil namili ng modern weapon

and now, the peace of our country is being threatened. palagay ko’y npa never wanted peace, just time out so they can buy high powered guns. killing is what npa do best, peace talk was just excuse.

some people can be reformed, not npa.

sometimes, medyo childish itong si bato, chief of polis. 7 corrupt polis were tasked to do push up as punishment for crimes committed. that’s too easy. I would have thought bata would have sat on each their backs while they do push up, make it harder for them. myself, I can do push up with just a finger! (oh no!)

better still, bato should have been creative and given the corrupt polis a knife each for them to do harakiri in front of an audience. these polis are so easy to dispense death to others but when it’s their turn, they resorted to push up only.

    BREAKING NEWS:

DUTERTE OKs MANDATORY ROTC FOR GRADES 11 AND 12, FOR BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS!

Back on August 5, 2016, I posted this here in Raissa’s blog site the following comment:

I’m convinced that there is a hidden and well orchestrated plan to perpetuate someone in power, not necessarily Duterte because he may not be up to the task due to his advance age and state of health. But he could very well be paving the landing strip for the arrival of that politically ambitious person.

Before the elections, I wrote that a Duterte presidency is going to be bloody, and that among the group of persons who will be the first to cry (unang iiyak) in a Duterte administration are the youth who will be required to undergo mandatory ROTC training. While this move appears innocuous it reminds me of how Mao Tse Tung exploited China’s Red Guards to carry on and spread Mao’s bloody and destructive cultural revolution. I’m sensing a parallelism here.

maybe, rotc training will keep youth out of the streets and lessen thier chances of doing drugs because of boredom. or of them getting into crime and being gang members because of nothing much to do. siguro lang po, sa rotc, the youth will be given alternative. they’ll have disciplinary training as well, to be respectful to elders and be compassionate to fellow beings. to be respectful of people’s property and not stealing them at the 1st chance they got. ideally, they’ll be taught good manners and right conduct. they’ll have outings and community lessons and learn first aid. their minds will be widened, instead of being closed up.

sa rotc, the youth will have a network and relating to others of thier kind, exchanging ideas and info, finding out trends, etc. they’ll also be outward looking instead of inward looking and too much into themselves that they start to think the universe goes around them. sa rotc, they’ll learn self reliance and develop their character and will be taught to grow up to be men, not mice and wimps.

like a baby yet to grow up, we dont really know if rotc training will make youth into serial killers, dictators and rapists, or make them into law abiding citizens and models of what is good in society.

who knows, maybe rotc is alternative to duplicitous fraternities na nanggugulpe ng mga membro, killing some of them.

and if rotc is made mandatory, I hope the govt will help shoulder expenses, and not pass on expenses to beleaguered parents.

No idea or reason(s) have been given to revive ROTC program.

What was it (ROTC) remove? And why put it back again? We copied this from USA America. They still have it today.

WW III takes place. WW IV will be throwing sticks and stones.

I’ve read somewhere that rotc in pinas was disbanded in 2002. all because of mark chu kuno, he was rotc trained who blew the whistle on corruption in rotc. apparently, rotc officials had been siphoning rotc funds and when mark spelled the beans on them, he was killed.

I would have thought mark’s rotc training made him brave enough to stand up to corrupt officials, kaso, they were more powerful for him, and mark died as a result.

rotc ought to have made mark a hero for being brave and courageous, and for standing up for what he thought was right, kaso, the whole of rotc was penalized instead and duly disbanded. methink, rotc died with mark. I dont know what happened to the perpetrators, but I’ll presumed that with the money they’d stolen, they got set for life and lived like kings.
