Will Mocha Uson of MTRCB try to stop “Madame Secretary” from showing in Manila?

Just my Opinion

By Raïssa Robles

What better way for a TV show to become a hit worldwide than to be told to censor itself because it shows a “Philippine President” acting offensively?

Not that the incumbent Philippine president hasn’t been acting offensively toward women, human rights advocates, etc.

Well, apparently CBS just upped the ante by actually inserting a character called the “Philippine President” and making him act in character, at least insofar as the current President goes.

The interesting thing to watch out is – what will MTRCB member Mocha Uson do?

What will the Philippine government do?

Will it ban local cable TV from showing this episode? Or Madame Secretary?

Or will it block foreign websites like Netflix from being able to provide the show?

I was told that during the recent Metro Manila Film Festival, there was an effort by the government to “persuade” those in charge of screening which films to show in movie houses not to include a particular film that mentioned extra-judicial killings. But the screeners stood pat and included the film in the line-up of movies to show.

Perhaps Mocha Uson’s role is to protect the President’s image and the government from films and TV shows that depict the Duterte government in a bad light.

I love that show and love the gutsy yet family-oriented Madam Secretary battle it out. This episode I will definitely want to watch. Mocha better keep her sleazy hands away from censoring it!!

that’s what many of us would have liked to do too: sampal the phil president! kick him in the groin, cut off his fentanylous tongue, let abu sayyaf have him and cut off his crazy head, then dump him in laud quarry to rest in peace with all those had had ordered killed. no christian burial for the most infidel of infidels.

Any attempt by the MTRCB and Mocha Uson to suppress, or stop, the showing of an episode of ‘Madame Secretary’ in the Philippines is likely to backfire on the Duterte administration as it will only heightened curiosity and interest in the TV show.

Already there is an abundant of video clips on You Tube and in social media about the episode showing a fictionalized U.S. secretary of state smashing and bloodying the nose of a fictionalized Philippine president with sexual perversion toward the secretary.

I don’t know which one the MTRCB and Mocha Uson may find objectionable – the portrayal of a ‘Philippine president’ with sexual perversion, or the portrayal that a woman would stand up against his sexual perversion and smack his face bloody thus hurting the president’s macho image?

Would they object if the ‘madam secretary’ crossed her legs to the delight of the ‘president’ to arouse his sexual appetite?

moca loca gotta show it all, warts and all, else wala tayong pera from advertisers. what’s a bloody nose to one who operates a death squad? it’s all water under the quarry for him. at meron sense of humor yang si digong, di ba? now, he is even more famous around the world. who knows? maybe, he might get himself another dovie beams. women loved bad men!

our country is in dire need of finance. biro mo, at one stage, the govt is so desperate for funds, it tried to tax beauty products! soon, it will tax the air people breathe in.

show digong in all his glory! let him rake in money for our country. he’s image is going to be our new export na pwedeng mapagkakakitaan. mocs should be at the forefront of this new money making venture, not at the back and reacting na lang. trying to control damage when there is no damage, only opportunities. she ought to make the most of it. our embassies abroad should be charging and making money each time digong is caricaturized and aired sa t.v. digong is pinas ‘intellectual property’.

he, he, he, now americans have to come to us, begging and asking and willing to pay millions for the use of digong’s franchise (!) to be included in sitcoms, dramas, thrillers, t.v. programs, etc. siguradong magiging high ratings ang mga iyan, considering everyone in the world knows who digong is.

digons can be good endorser of what not to do, etc. for where would the world be without anti-heroes and villains? there can hardly be angels without demons.

if she cannot be crime fighter like de lima, she can be entrepreneurial and make the agency she headed the richest in the country. and she did not even have to resort to selling drugs, kissing, sleeping or coddling drug barons! all she has to do is market the image of the despot from dabaw, slap patent on it fast and quick, and watch millions of dollars rolling in.

uhm, she may have to pay tax though.

it’s a short step to the top, if she knows how.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist Then they came fof the Trade Unionists, and I did not out speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me— And there was no one left to speak for me. —Martin Niemöller (1892-1984)
