My thanks to Jerome Aning of Philippine Daily Inquirer for sharing online a copy of the petition that intends to kill Philippine democracy and replace it with one-man rule.
It is now turning out that the political exercise going on at the Luneta Grandstand right now is not simply a rally to pressure Vice President Leni Robredo to resign.
It is the first open attempt to gather support for Duterte to turn his democratically-elected leadership into a dictatorship. It is what Marcos, his role model, did in 1972.
Eerily, the petition is urging Duterte to commit a coup d’état on the presidency – which is what Marcos also did – and impose a revolutionary government.
The petition asks that this revolutionary government scrap the 1987 Philippine Constitution and revert the country to the 1973 Constitution – the charter that Marcos forced the 1972 Constitutional Convention into approving.
The 1973 Constitution, which the petition refers to, made it constitutional and legal for the President to arrest and jail anyone for years without charges, legislate laws, muzzle the Supreme Court and do pretty much anything without accountability.
In short, the 1973 Constitution allowed the President to govern as a TYRANT.
The petition now being circulated in Luneta claims that the revolutionary period would only last two years and set up a federal form of government.
There is ABSOLUTELY NO GUARANTEE that once you give a tyrant all the powers, he would abide by that time frame or do what you wish. By that time, there is nothing to prevent him from doing anything because the 1987 Constitution would by then be gone.
If that happens, Duterte would be THE POWER all to himself, with no checks and balances and no accountability.
Marcos’ Martial Law lasted all of 14 years until he was chased out of the country. By then his regime had killed and tortured thousands of Filipinos, stolen billions of dollars and all but destroyed Philippine democratic institutions.
The 1981 alleged lifting of Martial Law by Marcos was only a paper lifting.
I know. I was there, right in Malacanang Palace where I watched the dictator himself announce the “lifting” of Martial Law.
Below is the petition now being circulated, which absolutely violates the oath of office that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte took on June 30, 2016 when he said:
“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and conscientiously fulfill my duties as President of the Philippines, preserve and defend its Constitution, execute its laws, do justice to every man, and consecrate myself to the service of the Nation. So help me God.”

Remember the bold actress Vivian Velez?
At the rally, she was pressing the crowd to urge Duterte to declare a revolutionary government. To watch Vivian Velez, just copy and paste the link below on your browser.

MIXING AN INCENDIARY COCKTAIL
Something is done for a reason, and the real reason for doing it may not be evident on the surface especially if it is done with an element of misinformation, or misdirection.
There are several possible reasons why a certain group (or groups) may want to oust Leni Robredo from the Vice-Presidency and for Duterte to declare a revolutionary government:
1. The group saw an opportunity to make money for undertaking the initiative.
2. The persons behind the initiative have sagging public recognition and want to return to public limelight.
3. The persons have been cast aside for sometime and felt the need to become relevant again on social issues.
4. They want to gain political capital from the Duterte administration.
5. They want to release a trial balloon to gauge public sentiment on the initiative if it were to push through.
Whatever is the real motivation any attempt at ousting the Vice-president and declaring a revolutionary government is bound to fail.
As of now, Duterte is already treading in dangerous water with his political persecution of Senator Leila De Lima. If he were to include the widely popular Robredo in his political witch-hunt he would be mixing an incendiary cocktail that is bound to explode in his face.
As I have commented before in my blog post at JoeAm’s:
-QUOTE –
Duterte might be floating the idea of declaring martial law in the entire country but under the current atmosphere I don’t think he will do that unless he is real stupid and crazy. The reality is that he does not have a bonafide grassroots political structure to support him. Although Duterte’s supporters comprise a super-majority in both houses of Congress, majority of his supporters are turncoats and political opportunists who jumped into the Duterte bandwagon and are likely to jump ship again when the political wind change direction. At best, he can count on a handful of diehard political supporters, most of which are fraternity brothers.
It is also doubtful that Duterte can count on the loyal support of the military 100%. Many career military officials are strongly anti-communists and do not share his anti-U.S. stance. And there is discontent among many senior military officials whose well-deserved promotions have been side-steeped by political patronage.
And it seems like Duterte does not have complete control of the PNP as is evidenced by his failure to prosecute the PNP generals whom he publicly identified and humiliated as drug lords, and by his suspension of his ‘war on drugs’ as it became apparent that police officials are getting out of control. It must be recalled that EDSA 2 finally turned the corner only after then PNP Chief Panfilo Lacson withdraw his support of his erstwhile friend and benefactor Pres. Joseph Estrada, in favor of Gloria Arroyo.
As far as his supposedly 16 million voter-supporters, many of them are ‘soft-supporters’ who are already expressing disappointment over his many broken election promises.

Kadamay loves it even if ‘Sardinas’ Housing…but one cop says:
‘Danilo (not his real name) also explained the difficulty of squeezing in five people – he, his wife and three children – in 20 square meters.
“Gaya ko pamilyadong tao may anak na ako; para sa akin yung sukat na ganito ay di sapat, lalo kung anak mo ay more than 3, masyadong masikip na po talaga. Para po kaming sardinas dito pag nagsama-sama po, tapos lalo pag may bisita pa po [For a family man like me with three children, this is too cramped. We are like sardines when we’re all here. It’s worse when we have visitors].”
Why build 20 SQ. M. homes? For Soldiers and PNP members? Don’t BUILD but just get those old CONTAINER VANS…20 or 40 footer!
20 SQ. Meters area: share it for FOUR: Papa & Mama. . . 5 SQ.Meters and 5 SQ. Meters for each ANAK.
For example – How do I sleep? STAND UP!
How do I tie my shoes? STAND UP!
How do I sit? STAND UP!
Stand Up Stand Up and Stand Up! What about Papa & Mama? They’s do it STANDING UP!

sardinas housing, not for long yata. magkapamilyang kadamay living next to each other, as soon as they got the title, whose to stop them if they remove or knock down a wall and make their living space bigger? making two units as one. and if they make extensions outwards and upwards, goodbye sardinas housing, hello multi-storey living.
Yvonne says
Siguro kaya para sa mga military and PNP personnel yung housing kase sanay silang naka stand-up in attention habang nasa loob ng bahay.

There is talk that a number of housing projects were not really intended for the policemen and soldiers but for those informal settlers living in the esteros and those who are at risk when there is flooding. Houses were not occupied yet as the beneficiaries are still being processed.
If true, kadamay members took something from their own lot who deserve the units more than them.
Heard that the administration realized and knew of the correct beneficiaries soon after making a more thorough check. So there lies the problem….

it’s good that the controversy of pantyleon is now the talk-of-town issue. at least the people is now aware of the evil-that-men-do in the lower house which alvarez heads. the idea of railroading the long-desired dream of the psycho to impose ML is now, more or less, in the sideline.
so, palit-bise is being instigated and sueno is fired…still LIC bing applied by the “bright” boys of the psyco.
let’s wait and see until TIME polls is done….
