By Raïssa Robles
I decided to post this because I would not want the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the military officers, soldiers and their families to think that I said this thing being attributed wrongly to me by Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson.
This is an example of how Mocha Uson twists what people say to come up with a malicious version of the truth.
She has done it in the past. She continues to do it today.
UPDATE:
Due to numerous requests, from those with slow internet connection who are asking me to post on my blog what exactly Mocha said and how I replied, I am adding below the following: [You can watch the video at the end.]
MOCHA USON: Ginagawa nating magtrabaho.
So I said:
“It’s Mocha Uson who has a dirty mind. I never said anything about “other women” being on board. This is what I actually tweeted:”
Mocha, “anything else” meant equipment or emergency supplies. NOT “other women”. [Just to elaborate further, I wanted to know if the trip was requested by Mocha Uson or she was just taking a ride on an already scheduled trip. I used the phrase “anything else” because I was thinking maybe the plane was carrying some medical supplies or body bags to use for the typhoon or mall fire deaths. If I wanted to insinuate “other women”, I would have written “anyone else“.]
Now’ I’m being attacked viciously by trolls like this one. You can tell this one is a troll because it has zero followers and only 8 tweets.
I get a digital funeral wreath for asking about Mocha Uson’s plane trips?
You can watch the video of her false claim and my reply below:

Dear Ms. Raissa,
In this socmed age of instant gratification and short attention span, tone rules.
Even the dumbest reader reads between the lines. Whether he reads it “right” is another matter — The greater your ambiguity, the greater the risk of being “misunderstood.”
Hence, tone. Your tweet was dripping with insinuations:
1) That Mocha, as (mere) assistant secretary, was somehow unfit to be flown by AFP aircraft.
2) The ASS (all caps), when you know that “assistant” is properly abbreviated as “asst.”
3) The immediate impression to any first-time, impartial reader that “anything else” was something that had to be kept from the public eye. To be blunt about it, contraband. And this puts the AFP in bad light. Many of us have not forgotten the Philip Pestaño case. Not least you, a journalist.
Mocha is a wonderful mixture of dumbness and genius. If she were smarter, she would’ve tried to burn you with my point #3 above. But she is a genius in taking things out of context provoking anger.
I guess the lesson is, don’t try to play Mocha’s gutter game. (Nag helicopter si Kris, ikaw rin naman ah?) Take the high ground always. Learn from one of your best writers now on board, Patricia Evangelista.

Let me answer you point-by-point:
1) That Mocha, as (mere) assistant secretary, was somehow unfit to be flown by AFP aircraft.
“Unfit” is the wrong adjective. I’m questioning the expense. Whether she was just hitching a ride (which would be OK) or she had requested for the plane (whether such an expense was justified). From her explanation, it is not clear who were the main passengers – she or the soldiers’ families.
2) The ASS (all caps), when you know that “assistant” is properly abbreviated as “asst.”
The ASS was short for asinine and Assistant secretary. And I meant it. Because of all her fake news. And I can prove this.
3) The immediate impression to any first-time, impartial reader that “anything else” was something that had to be kept from the public eye. To be blunt about it, contraband. And this puts the AFP in bad light. Many of us have not forgotten the Philip Pestaño case. Not least you, a journalist.
You are wrong there. And you are not impartial. Anything else is anything else. How in the world could it mean contraband when I insinuated no such thing. Dont give me the – you’re a journalist” thing. Explain how this has anything to do with the Pestano case. Don’t insinuate.
Mocha is a wonderful mixture of dumbness and genius. If she were smarter, she would’ve tried to burn you with my point #3 above. But she is a genius in taking things out of context provoking anger.
Wonderful?
I guess the lesson is, don’t try to play Mocha’s gutter game. (Nag helicopter si Kris, ikaw rin naman ah?) Take the high ground always. Learn from one of your best writers now on board, Patricia Evangelista.
Wow. Excuse me, I don’t play her gutter game. And I rode an army helicopter while covering Sen. Letty Shahani. I did not commandeer a helicopter.
what in the world are you talking about? I AM NOT WITH RAPPLER.

jayjay, you ang mocha are one of a kind, mocha had other women as ‘anything else’, you naman, have contraband.. who knows? maybe raissa has hit the nail on the head, hard. and boy, oh boy, that really hurts!
maybe, you are telling the truth, and contraband comes 1st to your unbidden mind, dahil contraband was on board! your subconscious mind has spoken. thank you.
afp once carried a dead boy and dropped him down from the sky!

sabi ni jayjay si mocha kuno is genius in provoking anger. and see what mocha got in return? citizens ay galit sa kanya! mocha has hit a wall! mocha provokes anger and got anger in return. and jayjay could be right again! mocha is dumb kuno, too dumb to realize that her actions have consequences, and that people have right of reply!
sa taong 2018, I wish mocha to develop a better way of establishing rapport with people from all levels, and from all walks of life. it will do her good.
if she is combative, then combat she’ll get. friendly fire!
arc says
anyhow, again, jayjay, people dont need to put afp in bad light dahil afp is very good in putting itself in bad light. 3x afp friendly fired marawi city! afp give free rides to mocha but no free rides to lumad kids holed up in UP campus. wala silang perang pamasahe and would have liked very much to see their families in mindanaw sa holiday season na ito. damn.
arc says
guys, dont listen to jayjay saying na dont play mocha’s gutter game, dahil si jayjay mismo is playing mocha’s game, at napadpad dito, he, he, he. this war we are facing is multi tier, gutter is for mocha, drugs naman kay digong, etc. mindanaw is under martial law, and we are fighting to uphold our democracy and the rights to bear our own burden, no one else.
gutter, specially those that fed esteros, needs to be inspected now and then, ensure it’s clean and not clogged, else babahain tayo at ma-state of calamity pa, at marami na naman ang mamamatay.
and like gutter, ass sec moche needs to be put in check. she’s endangering good and sound info. fight her fake news with the truth any which way we can.

I think if fb will clean up its users database … it will not be surprising that trolls will lost about 90% of their followers .. kasi most naman are fake account.
raissa says
Hmmm. That’s a very high estimate.
But let’s see what will happen now that Facebook is under fire.

By the way…. Just asking, diba not everyone (Govt Employee) can make use of Military Assets even for official purpose? If I am right, who may authorized it?
Also, why is no reports coming from her office with regards of what she claims to be working?
Just asking lang naman
raissa says
She claims to be working on a video docu on Marawi.

Just wondering where will this Asec hide when they are no longer in power?
arc says
sa dabaw magtatago, bolt hole yan ng mga undesirables. those with something to hide often go underground sa dabaw, living in luxury but under the radar.
