Just My Opinion
By Raïssa Robles
It’s quite disturbing that while the military has bared a ‘Red October’ plot to oust President Rodrigo Duterte, it is stunningly silent on Duterte’s self-confessed links with the Left. Duterte has called himself the Philippines “first Left President” and a member of Bayan.
From interviewing generals and reading the ‘Confidential’ and ‘Top Secret’ files shared discreetly with members of the media, I have long realized that the military makes no distinction between the so-called ‘above-ground’ legal Left and the armed Left. To the military, both operate together. In addition, the legal Left serves as a recruitment arm of the New People’s Army, according to generals and colonels I have interviewed.
With this in mind, I decided to make a video blog because this method seems to be the most effective way of explaining.
Here it is. Below the video, I have attached my voice-over presentation.
MY VOICE-OVER PRESENTATION
Dear Armed Forces of the Philippines,
You’ve been warning everyone of a plot to destabilize the government and grab power. You say it’s called Red October and it involves the communists, the military and opposition.
Wait, did you know?
There is another communist plot to grab power. It’s based in Malacanang Palace and it involves this guy here.
VIDEO CLIP of Duterte shouting “Mabuhay ang NPA!” with clenched fist in 2015
PHOTO – Duterte
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
You don’t know he’s a Communist? You don’t know he announced that once he becomes president he would grab power and establish a revolutionary government? But he’s never made a secret of it. Here he is before the presidential elections.
:
VIDEO CLIP – of Duterte at Lyceum University saying “I will be the first Left President” in 2015He said this before to Lyceum University students:
He also told Communist Party of the Philippines founder Joma Sison over Skype the same thing.
VIDEO CLIP – And I belong to the Left – April 2016
Photo – DUTERTE VISITS COMVAL – in 2012
In 2012, he brought food to the New People’s Army in Compostela Valley to celebrate their 44th founding anniversary.
As Mayor of Davao City, Rodrigo Duterte – according to him – had a close relationship with the communists.
VIDEO CLIP – ASIA CEO FORUM 2015
Here he is telling some of Asia’s top CEOs they should pay “revolutionary taxes” to the NPA. But no worries, in his city, he can arrange for them to pay less in the first years of operation.
Video CLIP – You cannot stop them from collecting
PHOTO – DUTERTE SPEAKING AT FUNERAL 2015
Here he is speaking at the wake of top NPA leader Leoncio Pitao – a leader who was killed by AFP soldiers.
When asked at Pitao’s wake – would he run for president in 2016 – he replied, “That would be the joy of the NPA. They would be able to set foot on Malacanang. One foot of the NPA would be in Malacanang.”
I wonder whose foot that is.
PHOTOS – OF DUTERTE AND PITAO TOGETHER
Duterte also called the slain leader his friend.
VIDEO CLIP – FUNERAL, 2015
With Mayor Duterte’s blessing, Pitao had the Philippines’ first ever hero’s funeral for an NPA commander in the heart of Davao City.
VIDEO CLIP – LYCEUM UNIVERSITY 2015
Duterte has said he is a member of the left-wing organizations Bayan and Kabataang Makabayan.
Before he became President, he was very close and chummy with Communist Party of the Philippines founder Jose Maria Sison. Watch his body language closely.
VIDEO CLIP – Duterte and Joma over Skype – April 2016
So we can all safely assume that Rodrigo Duterte, in his own words, belongs to the Left. Which the military call “Reds”.
Now that Duterte is in power as the first Left president, what does he intend to do?
PHOTO OF INQUIRER – REVOLUTIONARY GOVERNMENT in 2015
Well, in 2015, he said that if elected President, he would shake things up. He would form a revolutionary government. Then he would ask all generals and officials to hand in their resignation.
He also said before Asian business CEOs:
VIDEO CLIP: There will be a cleansing. – 2015
Wait, did he just say cleansing? Cleansing of who? And how?
But notice, something seems to have happened once he became president.
VIDEO CLIP : Threatening the NPA and Joma – August 2018
It seems that although he’s a self-declared Leftist, Duterte now wants to quarrel with his self-proclaimed buddies, the CPP, NPA and Joma. Seems he wants to go his own way, demanding resignations, conducting cleansing, etc
He told Erwin Tulfo a year ago how he would begin the cleansing. He said, the moment street protests – instigated by the Reds against him – escalate and turn chaotic, he would declare a revolutionary government and arrest everyone. He said he was prepared to do so since he has been training an additional 25 army and police battalions.
VIDEO – WITH ERWIN TULFO, October 2017
Given all these, Dear AFP, are you looking for a communist out to grab power? There’s one big communist right inside the Palace grounds.
I’m sure you have a thick dossier on him. Would you care to disclose its contents to the Filipino people in the interest of national security?
Meanwhile, your hunt for ‘Red October’ should begin at the President’s office.
Luigi says
Ms. Robles I admire your criticism of the government but I do wish that you and the media would be as critical towards the NPA and NDF in general as you are with Duterte and the government.
The NPA and NDF has terrorized the Philippine long enough for decades by imposing revolutionary taxes on poor farmers, they extort businesses both foreign and local, they destroy public infrastructure, they ambush and kill our men in uniform, their existence eats up a portion of our defense budget. They are a cause as to why Duterte would rise up to be who he is today and they are to blame that a strongman like Marcos came to be in power as well. These communists are as bad as Duterte or even worse. I think you and the media should not be neutral and non tolerant towards them.
We should push for the NPA and NDF leaders to be punishable in the ICC and force the Netherlands to give up Joma Sison to the authorities. Remember that he was Duterte’s teacher and Duterte only learned from the best. Don’t be fooled by his demeanor and goofy looks, Sison is also a hardened and ruthless killer. Communism should not be welcome anymore. We can not have the likes of Pol Pot, the Jong Un, Stalin, Milošević and Mao to be in power in this country of ours.
There should be more media investigations into the NPA and NDF and force them to be transparent . And see who among our LGUs and politicians and businesses support them as well as identify foreign powers who funnel funds. We cannot have democracy with these communists. They do not believe in democracy, they do not believe in religion and free will and they do not believe in a free media.
raissa says
Dear Luigi,
I don’t know where to begin.
You have brought up so many issues, some of them true, some half true, the rest false.
Honestly, it would take several chapters of a book to reply to you.
But let me just point out two of your sentences:
You say they caused Duterte to rise. No. It was more the Marcoses, the Arroyos, the Villars and Fidel Ramos who caused Duterte to rise. The NPA in MIndanao helped.
YOu also said – they are to blame that a strongman like Marcos came to be in power as well. No. Marcos used them as AN EXCUSE to perpetuate himself. It’s in my book, Marcos Martial Law: Never Again.
You said – We should push for the NPA and NDF leaders to be punishable in the ICC and force the Netherlands to give up Joma Sison to the authorities. Apparently you are not aware, but we do have a law that punishes both state actors (government forces) and non-state actors for crimes against humanity.
When you say – Don’t be fooled by his demeanor and goofy looks, Sison is also a hardened and ruthless killer. – Perhaps you should direct that statement at President Duterte.
As for being critical of what the NPA and NDF have done, again you have not read some of my articles and my book. You are unaware that Teddy Casino took exception to this particular video. You can read our exchange on FB and Twitter.
You are unaware that quite a number in the above-ground mass organizations also took exception to my series on the DAP before.
Finally, when you say – “I think you and the media should not be neutral and non tolerant towards them.”
You mistake the very nature of a journalist’s job. We seek to understand what is happening from as many sides of the issue. We are like the Red Cross for ideas. We need to be able to interview as many sides as possible. But it is no longer our problem if one side does not want to talk to us, like the Duterte administration. Then we try to find the answers in other ways.
What you are saying, in essence is – the NPA is bad. Don’t talk to them.
What I’m saying is – why do you think they are bad? I would like to talk to you to find out why you think they are bad, and to them to find out what they think they are not.
We need to understand the problem before we can even begin looking for solutions.
arc says
luigi, are you blinkered? duterte is friends of the reds, friend of misuari pa, and even invited the reds to malakanyang. didnt duterte have peace talks with the reds despite the military’s concern na the reds are just playing for time? months and months on talks and talks, and then no talks, and then talks is on again, and then, no talks na naman.
duterte even wanted to impose revolutionary tax to help his communist friends be self sufficient, and maybe give them lands too. and when duterte cannot lord them over and be their boss, ayan, he wants them dead.
and not contend with npa, duterte is now playing with china, building, building, building and destroying our economy, hankering on federalism and imposing more taxes. china lang ang nakinabang sa building building building with chinese workers taking jobs from pinoys.
and duterte has a gaggle of his own journalists, makers of fake news, trolls galore, the self incriminating mocha uson, in control na ni duterte of the supreme court, the congress, the senate, the armed forces, the kapolisan, those opposed sa kanya the likes of de lima are sent to jail, amnesty revoked, and if duterte is still unhappy, it’s maybe because he does not know how to rule and manage the country, appointing the wrong people to important jobs, his best and brightest are corrupt and greedy for money. and the reds are just excuse.
and now, duterte wants to be fussed big time, be center of attention and reciever of nationwide sympathies, may sakit kuno and always talking about his ill health, maawa kayo sa kanya dahil may sakit siya, hwag purwesyuhin. and when no one is looking, ayan nag-shopping siya sa hongkong and spending big bucks, entourage in tow.

In order to win Trillanes’ army of supporters, Lady Leni made a very “irresponsible remarks” that raised eyebrows
“Vice President Leni Robredo on Wednesday slammed the Makati court’s order to arrest opposition Sen. Antonbio Trillanes IV
“The vice president said in a statement that people trust the courts to be ‘strong and fair’, especially in the fight for our rights.”
“This trust was lost due to Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 150’s order to arrest Trillanes, despite clear evidence presented,” Robredo said.
“If laws can be broken against a senator, what more can be done against our poor countrymen?” she added in Filipino.
On Tuesday, Trillanes went to the Makati RTC Branch 150 to post of P200,000. Makati RTC Branch 150 Judge Elmo Alameda, in his order, stressed that Trillanes failed to present the primary evidence in the case which is the amnesty application form bearing a receiving stamp.
He said the pieces of evidence Trillanes had presented – such as video and photograph of him holding the application form, Col. Josefa Berbigal’s affidavit saying that she received Trillanes’ form and others – must be “disregarded” and are barren of probative weight.” (more)
https://philippines.timesofnews.com/robredo-trust-in-courts-lost-over-arrest-order-vs-trillanes
Lady Leni, who passed the bar after two attempts unlike the great Jose W. Diokno, who topped the CPA exam but allowed by the SC to take the bar without a law degree – and again topped the bar exams together with Jovito Salonga, should not insult the wisdom and judgment of Judge Alameda.
As the second highest official of the land, Lady Leni should be careful of her statements lest she be charged of contempt of court, or worse, be disbarred

not ‘lady’ leni, she’s vice president leni po, yang ang ttitle niya. much as we call duterte president, not mister po. no need to call her lady dahil everyone knows she’s a lady.
may monthly din yata si judge alameda. lol! may lapse of judgement na nangyari, tapos takbo duon kay lola tersing. save me!
post war times na po and every is considered, everything is equalized, so if leni calls off judge alameda, well judge just have to thicken his skin. if duterte can can off anyone, leni can too.
yang pagtakbo ni alameda kay aling tersing, good exercise yan for his skin, makes the circulation going. next move, alameda will be applying for position sa supreme court, lol! I got you, trillanes, aling tersing, uhm, can I get my comeuppance dito sa supreme court. being justice associate would be nice, being chief justice – excellent! now, shove your flaming ass and get me my reward! lol!
arc says
si judge alameda po was the one who insulted his own wisdom, vice president leni only pointed it out.

I’m uber happy that vice president leni tried 2x for her doctorate, did not give up siya despite insurmountable odds and finally got the result she wanted, she passed at 2nd chance! follow that dream! and she did.
there are many that failed at 1st attempt sa exam, nothing to be ashamed about. at school, failure big time ako sa panitikan, lowest ang grade at bagsak uli. never said never ako, tried and tried uli, in the end, my teacher gave up ang I got a passing grade, just. sabi, she did not want to see me again, sawang sawa na raw siya sa katuturo sa akin. sweet!
god has made us equal with same number of limbs and give us all sun, air, etc to enjoy. the rest is up to us to make good of what we have been given. dare to dream, dare to hope and make it happen. look at duterte, dumb and dumb siya, in my league yata, and then, he become president, lol!

Hindi na kailangang makisakay si Leny to gain support.
Anyone who advocates democracy and rule of law will support Trillanes in his quests.

Raissa,
I just saw on ANC’s Future Perfect show (hosted by Tony Velasquez) two guests that had just finished for the Ayala Museum their VR (virtual reality) project on Rizal, Aguinaldo and other historical events/figures and one of them (Ibba Bernardo) called for material on Martial Law which they could turn into their next VR project for Ayala Museum.
I thought of the research work you did for your book on Martial Law, you may be interested in this project for Ayala Museum. Another venue to combat historical revisionism.
Ibba Bernardo has a twitter account.

Ok. Will check it out. Meanwhile, we need to prevent another Martial Law. See the story I just posted.

color blind yata ang military and cannot see what’s right in front of them. it’s those free cell phones, medals and hefty pay rises that make them complacent as placenta. and now, rolex watches will also be given to them, materialistic na talaga ang military. tanggap ng tanggap sa mga pinamimigay. kahit wala na silang armas and low on ammunition, basta may freebies, okay ang military.
and maybe si bong go bilyonaryo is paying yata big bucks for favorable surveys that put mukhang uling in front and good light. bayad ng bayad ng surveys. sa prc those that dont know bong go, na-itsa pwera. in good light, what’s behind that good light is bad light of the creeping uling.

pawn shops must be trading well, so much cell phones sanla and now, maybe rolex watches too.
sorry, mukhang uling, can I have another cell phone? I lost the one you gave. and can I have more rolex watches? they look good on the wrist of my father and father in law, and my brother wants one too. how about watches for the wives and girlfriends? and vouchers for those chunky gold pieces would be very welcome, lalo na’t christmas is coming! keep them freebies coming!
next time I pass by a soldier, I’ll look at his wrist, see if he got rolex watch, lol!
but wouldnt it be better if timex watches are given like what the late jessi robredo got? matibay yong watch ni jessie and made in cebu pa, not made in china. support our industry, support our economy and buy local, not buy foreign goods.
red october is red herring and mukhang uling must be laughing. after ompong, may panibagong bagyo na naman. looking for red october in the flood? aba nangduon sa dabaw yang intended, nalusutan ang malakanyang, he, he, he.

PNP Chief: Police officer romantically linked to Abu Sayyaf member is arrested
http://cnnphilippines.com/news/2017/04/24/Abu-Sayyaf-police-romance-Maria-Cristina-Nobleza.html
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 24) — A police officer said to be romantically linked to a member of the Abu Sayyaf bandit group was arrested, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald Dela Rosa said Monday.
Police Superintendent Maria Cristina Nobleza is in a relationship with Abu Sayyaf member Reneer Lou Dongon, Dela Rosa said in a news briefing, adding the two may have been attempting to rescue fellow Abu Sayyaf in Bohol.
“She is sleeping with the enemy… Naloko sa pag-ibig. Dahil sa pagmamahal dun sa lalaki na Abu Sayyaf, nagpagamit siya” Dela Rosa said referring to Nobleza.
