Many are appalled that trapo politician Danilo Suarez voiced the idea of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte sharing the six-year term of the presidency the way Martin Rromualdez shared the House Speakership term with Alan Peter Cayetano.
The idea is not new.
In fact, it was President Rodrigo Duterte who had first promised to share his presidential term with Bongbong Marcos.
He repeatedly said he was tired and wanted to step down. He told businessmen on August 14, 2018, “I want you to know that I am thinking of stepping down because I’m tired.”
But, he often quickly added, he would not want to be succeeded by Vice President Leni Robredo because she couldn’t hack it.
“Hindi niya kaya, that’s my honest opinion ko lang. Kung sino lang sana diyan, in the likes of (Chiz) Escudero or Bongbong Marcos,” Duterte said.
Days later, his spokesman Harry Roque elaborated that once Bongbong Marcos won his election case against Robredo, Duterte would step down in Bongbong’s favor.
But Marcos never won the case.
Despite the fact that 11 of the 15-member Supreme Court are all Duterte appointees. A clear majority.
Someone suggested on Twitter that perhaps Duterte merely dribbled Marcos into believing he would win his election case and succeed him.
Now that Duterte is indeed stepping down, he could well fulfill THAT promise by endorsing Bongbong’s presidential run.
Why hasn’t he?
Which is why the Marcoses smell betrayal. Nabudol budol sila nang todo dati.
Maybe Sara also thinks she has already repaid her father’s debt to the Marcoses for their backing Duterte in 2016 with Marcos loyalist votes and money. Sara personally campaigned for Imee Marcos to win a Senate seat in 2019.
But the Marcoses want the top prize. They have dreamt, yearned, hungered and lusted for the presidency for so long – for the last 34 years.
This election is turning out to be more twisted than fiction.

For one, we can look forward to a sibling presidency.
I don’t think Bongbong Marcos can and will be doing it alone.
