And ordering him to explain why he should not be disbarred for that vile video

By Raissa Robles

I have no words, really.

I’m amazed.

I’m floored.

SC Suspends Gadon and Orders Him to Show Cause Why He Should Not Be Disbarred over Viral Video Against Journalist

— Philippine Supreme Court Public Information Office (@SCPh_PIO) January 4, 2022

Thank you for acting on your own on this matter.

I was just talking to my lawyer last night, discussing when and where to file the disbarment case.

You can read the press release of the Supreme Court by clicking here.

Hearing today’s good news, we both decided – that we will proceed with suing this detestable and loathsome poor excuse of a lawyer who is a disgrace to the legal profession.

The second reason I wrote this post was in order to thank all those who have come to my support and defense, aside from my close childhood, college, post-college friends and fellow journalists.

You know, a journalist labors alone. That is the nature of our work. When someone attacks us, we often suffer alone.

This is why I am so very touched with the outpouring of care and concern and outrage that Gadon’s video had triggered.

For standing up for me, I would like to thank the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines (FOCAP), all its members, the current president Barnaby Lo, and the immediate past president Jamela Aisha Alindogan.

The National Union of Journalists of the Philippines also came to my support as well as fellow journalists.

Christian Esguerra of ANC persuaded me to give my side on his show, despite my hoarse voice, and even invited a former official of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.

Gabriela openly defended me even though I have said some critical things about the Left.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer wrote an editorial condemning Gadon’s attack. Philippine Star, my former newspaper, broke the news about it. Inquirer columnist Ceres Doyo bashed Gadon’s “Rant from Hell”.

Manila Times’ columnist Tita Valderama placed Gadon’s attack in political context and transcribed what Gadon said.

I treasure all the messages of support posted on Facebook and Twitter, including the news release about Gadon’s attack on me posted by the Camp Darapanan news site.

That posting finally brought tears to my eyes because the Camp Darapanan news site is run by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front whose former rebel leaders have been my sources for decades. But when the MILF obtained their longed-for autonomy, somehow, I stopped writing about them.

But the MILF remembered who I was and all those times I would call their leaders for interviews whenever a bombing or a war broke out with government forces.

What I’m trying to say is, Thank You.

I know I have not been the most tactful journalist but I do try to get all the different viewpoints across.

After his rant, I was actually thinking of interviewing Gadon. But I realized his sewer outburst was meant to destroy all the credibility and integrity I’ve built up as a journalist. So people won’t believe what I write or say.

And for that he deserves no respect from me. His own mother would be ashamed of him.

I don’t understand those people supporting larry gadon, despite him being too vulgar and his character and ideology that is worst than a scum. People now a days are easily blinded by fake news especially those people that do not and does not fact check. we can clearly see that this man is worst than a criminal. Journalist are just doing their job on spreading facts and not disseminating fake news. Larry Gadon really is a pet of the family Marcos.

Thank you. Let’s hope it is just the beginning.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist Then they came fof the Trade Unionists, and I did not out speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me— And there was no one left to speak for me. —Martin Niemöller (1892-1984)
